Synopsis:
It tells an inspirational story of how a group of young people grew up, chased their dreams and struggled in their life during the 1970s reform era in China. Xiao Chun Sheng (Xiao Zhan) along with his two buddies Ye Guo Hua (Liu Rui Lin) and Chen Hong Jun (
Cui Hang), are children of military families and government workers who grew up in the same courtyard. They share many experiences like joining the army, taking the college entrance examination, going into business, starting their own business, going abroad and entering politics. They also meet Tong Xiao Mei (Li Qin), a Beijing girl pursuing her dreams of becoming a doctor, and their destinies were closely intertwined...

Xiaomi is behaving with true restraint and kindness. She has a secret heart for Chun Sheng but she has never tried to pressure him or diminish Ye Hongling. This is such a good drama. When I watch it I get so drawn into the characters. It is a great cast and excellent performances.
xiaomie very quite i like the way she treat important on the family of Chunsheng... I hope someday they will together in this drama

The part between Chunsheng and his father and his going away to the military was so touchingly sad.
春生的姐姐真不错！ 父亲被审查期间，她一个人把家撑着，自己上班，有空还要做饭，照顾爸爸和弟弟，没有怨言，真是一个好姐姐！
Such a lovely series..i started watching it for xiao zhan but now for beautiful story line ..xiao zhan is really shining like a diamond in his role..
this Drama is really giving you vibe of family gathering arounf Tv and watching iy , childhood memory brog=ught me to my Childhood . you can watch this with the whole family and gives you a war, feeling
His smile is contagious , his and violin girl love story is involved in half if the story, I hope Xiomei will get a better partner compatibility to her
Xiao has crecido actoralmente, no solo eres un rostro bonito, adquiriste madurez y grandes habilidades actorales. Este es un drama realista, sensible, honesto...aparecen al natural, sin la máscara blanca de maquillaje que los convierte en figuras de cera...aquí son ustedes mismos y se aprecia mucho mejor sus expresiones y actuación. Esta serie no es para todos, solo para quienes pueden apreciar tu trabajo actoral y vocal más allá de tu apariencia...bien hecho!!!
Concordo com você. Rio com Chunsheng, choro com Chunsheng. Ele é um personagem íntegro, nobre , amoroso , sincero . Não vejo a hora que ele começar a amar Xiomei. Porque a outra é muito egoísta. XIAO ZHAN é um ator nato . Tudo que ele interpreta transmite verdade. Estou entusiasmada com essa linda série. Estou conhecendo uma outra China. Histórica.
you know this is what i thought about when i watched this drama ,i always thought people admired him for his good looks but he is a true actor ,a real actor who knows how to act ,the emotions ,facial expressions ,the situations he show are so real , i have never watched his dramas and i always admired him for his handsomeness butbniw i truly admire him for his talent.

Actually i dnt understand how hongling n Chunseng dating when it was guhou who was chasing the girl he just mentioned about her looks n Chunseng painted the picture he was trying to help guhoa right it's totally misunderstanding Chunseng come across Xiaomi in library but couldn't see her face i think he had a crush on St lady n mybe thought her as hongling
