As an antisubmarine carrier the Melbourne was quite useful in the context of the 1960s and 1970s. The fit out of the Argentine carrier with Trackers and Sea Kings was pretty much identical. The flight of the RAN Seakings and Trackers is one grade higher than the Argentine Navies but in reality the US administrations provided Buenos Aires dubious regime equal equipment in the key area of a/s and surveillance and operating from coastal airbases or the Argentine carrier a bit offshore the Sea King and Trackers were apparently twice able to find the RN diesel Oberon transiting the 12,000 miles south during operation corporate. The long distance could only be covered by the diesel sub on or near the surface as deep or snorkelling at 4 knots noticeable movement was not very achievable. It is claimed the US supplied Argentine with Mk 46s which twice locked onto the sound of the 17 knot Oberon while the RN fired more this 50 stingray and Mk46 torpedoes at the Argentine Type 209 sub and either never got close enough, heard or overhauled the 22k 209
Nice to See the Aussie's in action. Shame they don't operate a carrier anymore.

Canberra and Adelaide aren't carriers, they're Landing Helicopter Docks. Basically used for amphibious assault operations
