Back in 2003, Brian scored the music for the SyFy production (at this time it was the Sci-Fi Channel) of “Children of Dune”. An amazing Soundtrack that became my favorite of all time. I was a high school band director and I decided my next competition matching show was going to be based upon Mr. Tyler’s original Soundtrack for Children of Dune. My assistant, Josh, managed to make contact with Brian who extended the most gracious and generous offer of gifting us with a copy of his film score for writing our marching arrangement for our 2004 show. This was absolutely amazing on Brian’s part to do this for a high school program. Everyone was so excited that such a gifted composer in Hollywood would assist a high school band program in such a personal and productive manner as he did. Over the many years since, Brian may have forgotten about his simple offer and gift but his generosity will never be forgotten by me and the students I taught that year. I retired not long after but this experience remains one of my fondest memories in my entire teaching career. A testament to the character of a truly gifted and blessed composer of renown but an even greater Man whose generosity to a band and its students is beyond measure! Thanks Mr. Tyler for your incredible gift. A fan forever.... Anthony
