That was my mother Ellen Willis playing Password in 1963 - I was 3 years old at the time

16:00 the male contestant had an expression on his face as though he thought, "WTF? I'm done?" In the last game, the contestants came from towns that were later the names of TV series.

In the last lightning round, Douglas Fairbanks just sat there and dawdled. He provided almost no clues. I really wish Nanette Fabray had won a game.

Doug dawdled because he also wanted Nanètte to win a game.

15:30 Ludden "When he said "jerk" there, I got a little self-conscience." lol Totally worthy of Casey's off-camera eruption.

What a class act Alan Ludden was. The announcer cuts off the banter between Nanette and her partner and he fixes it's. Nobody like him

Wow, that was the most brutal Lightning Round I've ever seen; not only did she not get a single word right, they didn't even get to the fifth word! Never seen it go that badly before but I also feel they were harder words than usual.

I would think for "Code" you could do it in one clue if you stretched out the word, "Morse?…"

Neither Douglas Fairbanks NOR that last woman contestant was too bright, were they?
I AM glad that he said "I know it; shoot" when Allen said "Times almost up." I love Allen, he's the best game show host there is, but he CAN be rude; I've seen waaay too many times., and I'm just glad Douglas said that the way he did)

I had a feeling that the second clue for snore would be a winner, sometimes a good first clue will yield a win for the other team, especially when it is missed

If I had to try to get "Spanking" in one single clue I would try "Whooping" :-)

      Goldberg?

@@waldolydecker8118 for "Goldberg" I would probably come back with either "Jewish" or "Doctor" (because Goldberg sounds like a nice doctor's name :-)

Contestants Judy, Ellen, and Millie were very gracious and lovely. Douglas Fairbanks played the regular rounds well, but he just could not come up with anything cogent in the Lightning Rounds for Judy, and especially for Millie! "Blare" was an unfair word in the regular round. "Riot" in the last Lightning Round was too difficult, but Doug's clues of "disturbance" and "public" were excellent, however.

In those days most wives were stay-at-home wives/mothers because the fathers made enough money for the family. Jobs today don't pay as much (adjusted for inflation). That's why in many households husbands and wives both have to work today. In 1968, minimum wage was $1.60 which in today's money is $12.61. But minimum wage is only $7.25.

Some women have Adam's apples. Judy is very thin, so hers is visible.
