Projects like this are so stressful and here you are working in a foreign place with builders who dont always understand you. Well done to you, brave man
Those builders are rough as toast… but if you pay peanuts you get 🙈🙉🙊 At the end of the day you’ve not done bad for the price, it’s definitely rentable. Very comprehensive video, thanks for sharing 👍
You've done well. I built a 3 storey house in Vietnam and the builders did drive me to distraction. Attention to detail doesn't exist here either. I found it tough, as my profession was top end German kitchens design and installation in England. My standards are high, and that caused issues with my build. To me, everything was being done on the hoof, and the wrong way around. After intense discussion, they finally got it, and started to delivery some quality. I think it comes down to the fact that the builders there, and here in Vn, are site guys. It's a different animal who understands doing building work inside ones home. I learnt a heck of a lot with my build....for the next one, if I can be bothered. Good video, cheers.
Snags are a nightmare and really irritating and picking materials often take the longest amount of time. Watched all of these episodes back to back and found them really entertaining.
Looks great mate, thanks for sharing your journey with us! I must admit I had a bit of a chuckle at the little setbacks during this video, its amazing how sometimes the builders just go do their own thing. Wish you the best now with the rental business!
I'm coming out there as a painter!!for what they charged and what you got was shocking. The cleaners done a great job 👍👍.How much was the apartment to start off with?I dont think you said? Glad its all finished for you and looks great .
From where you are now, compared to when you started, what an amazing transformation. You made AUD$30K stretch a long way. Working with Thai tradies is never easy - always keen to please - but sometimes dont get the 'finer' detail. I was looking at coming to Samui for NYE but the airfares are so expensive and I really dont want to get on the boat. Looking forward to seeing the walk thru. Well done.
Thanks very much Marc 😄 ... Ya NYE is just about the worst time you could come here tbh. Airfares crazy, hotels full, no motorbikes and roads full of divvies.

Yes well done. It’s hard enough trying to find decent tradespeople in your own country.
