Great driver, extremely underrated, won Daytona 500 and brickyard 400 in same year. One of the best restrictor plate racers. I think that’s a pretty good career.
A good racer who had good competition and sometimes not the best luck. But when he was able to be in contention he put up hell of a competition. I always was a fan of him and i loved the daytona 500 brickyard 400 back to back
Jamie had a great year in 2010. He won the Daytona 500, Brickyard 400, and the fall race at Charlotte. He also finished 2nd at the spring Talladega, Darlington, and the Coca cola 600.
Underrated driver who is good at just about every track.
Unfortunately, he never really had great equipment. Ganassi has never really been able to put together consistently solid race cars, except for a brief period when Sterling Marlin was a contender. They seem to be finally building better cars, but it's too late in his career to wait for the organization to step up to the top.
When he went to Roush, they were on the decline, and had too many cars in their stable. He never really had a chance to compete in top level equipment, and that's really what separates the top drivers from everyone else.

I think he could make HOF. With the 2014 package he was definitely elite. If they kept it. He probably have 10 more wins.
Well he won the 2014 all-star race I thought he's gunna be in the HOF. I guess the all-star race doesn't count or something??
This vid brought back so many memories of my favorite driver Jamie Mac. I wish he would have a gotten one more towards the end is his career but still had a great career

Yeah since 2010 he kinda feel apart and hasn't been the same dominate driver since he was my favorite but now I gotta find a new favorite since he retired after Daytona.

I was a huge McMurray fan his whole cup career. While he didn't get many wins, the ones he did get were huge. Such a talented driver and good guy.

God's honest truth, Jamie McMurray was a more talented driver than Jimmie Johnson from a pure driver standpoint, Jimmie just had the better Team/Crewchief.

Forgot his 2014 All-Star Win
He’s my favorite racecar driver because he drove a McDonald’s car. Now he may not be the fastest out there now due to equipment but every now and then you see the glimmer of talent with him.
I have the same reason for liking him in the first place, and it makes me very happy because he made me a Chastain fan
And a sprint showdown and all star win in 2014 which was super impressive.

Jamie was so good with old school shocks and springs. Just had a knack for finessing the car around the track with soft tires. When the setups became coil bound, it didn’t really fit his driving style and he lost that magic he had his first years of cup.
