I also saved some $$ on condition inspections ("annuals") because I am also an A&P mechanic. However, the airframe and engine are very durable, so I never spent a lot on replacement parts. In addition, since the aircraft is in the Experimental category, you can manufacture replacement parts, as long as the A&P says that it's airworthy. Yes, fuel is the biggest operating cost, but you can fly it with a lower power setting on cross-country flights to save fuel. The biggest burn is when you're out doing aerobatics. Some people regard "jet"as a type of engine, and others see "jet" as a type of airplane. Also, some people think of "fighter" as a thing, and others think of "fighter" as a description. I can see how the order of terms would easily get switched around, and yet everybody would still be correct depending on which definitions they're using. And on top of that, the moment someone doesn't speak English, the rule of putting your description before the object you're describing goes out the window. Your stats are a bit off , depends on which version. I picked up a 1996 VodoChody L-39 that was upgraded to L-39NG+ specs . De-tipped and wet wing , Genesys avionics , Garret Code 1 turbofan . Will do Mach .089 and 2000 miles with extra drop tanks . Also sports a twin 23mm cannon , unfortunately it has been pinned and welded . Just for looks . It is a blast to fly and will definitely pull 7g , it is rated up to 9g , however I am not . A brief 7g is my max , that was with an experienced Ex F-18 pilot to man the controls in case I passed out . Pressurized cabin and onboard Oxygen. 39,000 no problems.

So it would make it possible for them to do day trips between their home and towns/cities with airports, even if they live close to a thousand kilometres away! :)
I don't think this is in my budget. Yet. Didn't know anything about aircraft and now I want to buy a few.
This is AMAZING CONTENT. Keep up the good work.
Your voice is so soothing
Very nice Video👍 Hope you will do one on the Alpha Jet as it is quite a good trainer too.
Hoping to see a breakdown video of the Extra 330 or any other aerobatic aircraft
my first video if this channel and i like this format alot
think you would do one vid on helos in the future ?
I saw a few in partially disassembled state but with all of the parts for sale at around $25-30k
Step 1: Install DCS world
Step 2: Buy L39 module for 60$ (30 in discount)
Step 3: Suffer
Step 4: Enjoy
Fantastic series of videos!
I didn't even know this was possible, and then my short-lived dream was smothered.
Just found the channel. Great one mate 😀
If you want to equip your Jet with two AIM-9 Sidewinder, to get a true fighter jet, you have to pay another 500.000 $, which is as much as the jet itself.
Now imagine a flock of humble yet combat outfitted albatrosses flying low defending the Ukrainian borders, land and the skies.
That is all? Heck two are in my future - as soon as I get to the model airplane store
damn, i always wanted to start my own airforce. thanks for the video, it aint as expensive as i thought, so im buying 10
This is the best cost breakdown I've seen for this jet thanks!! Crushed my dreams too LOL. Can you do a cost video on the Experimental BD-4? It might reignite your dreams of aircraft ownership =)
I just watched a pawn stars episode where they almost bought one of these lol
Love the vids, could you make one about the PC 21?
this is actually quite intresting, you should do the F4 Phantom next
Good content, I myself would go with the two seater I might lose a little airspeed but it will be worth it when I get my buddy to hurl in the back seat. Lol
You're in luck, this is a two seater. Hurl away!
Just love the narrative!
Looking forward to the TCoO of a Falcon Heavy.
There's a private owner over Groningen in Holland who I see on flightradar24 sometimes, flying the deck in loops through the valleys in the bay to the north (Lauwersmeer).. lucky sod 😂❤🍻
“If you climbed in this plane for a solid hour you would definitely be in outer space” This channel rocks
I’m getting that first, but I’m also getting a SU-27 for $8m in 5 years
*2
Could you please please please do Fouga Magister?
And congrats for all your videos , I really enjoy them
So.. you are reviewing warbirds now.. How about the
PBY Catalina next??
Great video, how about those cricri planes? Or some other super small 1 seat aircrafts
Information as I'm chuckling. Sweet!
Yeah, did this info search already and crushed my dreams. The fuel costs for a MIG-21 and a F-104, whaa, FML, never gona happen.
Can you please do a cost of ownership on the folland gnat? They are faster than the Albatross but I don’t know how safe!
Love the videos! Just subscribed.
very excited for the subsonix video
Just found this channel, good stuff.
This is about on par with the larger yachts at my marina. Much better on fuel though.
Do the Piper Cheyenne 400ls
This is exactly what I need
Would love to see a breakdown of the DA-62
Most of these videos have convinced that short of winning the lottery in the 7 to 8 figure range, I'll never own and airplane. If I get there, I would like to own something like the North American Sabreliner that is owned by Michael Dorn (Worf from Star Trek Next Generation). It has the speed, altitude, and range to make it practical to fly cross country or fly cross Atlantic to Europe.
