Wonderfully done, Kathy! I love the shaker window, the charms, your mixed media touches and the waterfall feature on the back. I must admit, for now I watched on the highest speed, because I'm short on time, but I'll be back to watch again! It's rather fun to watch it sped up. Ha! Ha!
Ha! I bet that was hilarious! I don't think I share anything that you, the Queen of MIxed Media, do not already know. Thanks so much for the kind words, my friend! xo
Thank you, Des! I remember having a wonderful time making this project. It's so fun to see these older videos pop up here, and it makes me very happy to know that people are still enjoying them.
Thank you so much Sweet Lady! I've been dabbling with mixed media for a while now, and finally am starting to feel a little bit more confident with it. I actually had FUN with this piece, and that is always a good sign that you are making progress. I so appreciate your kind words of encouragement! You are a treasure! xo
Kathy, this is simply magical. I know how much you love Alice and the loving care shines through! I just have to comment about the new Graphic 45 collection, “Lost in Paradise.” My husband and I were married in Hawaii 17 years ago and I have never done an album on my marriage and honeymoon. Can you give a hint as to whether you will be creating one for the Button Farm Club?? Inquiring minds want to know. 😂
Hi, Jan! Thank you so much. I really do love this collection. I do not have plans at present to make anything with Lost in Paradise. It's lovely, but so similar to Tropical Travelogue (which I have gobs of) that I decided not to purchase it. If you wanted me to make you a special anniversary album, I'd be happy to do so, however. Just not with a BFC kit. Hugs! And congrats on 17 years of marriage! The best is yet to be!
Thank you so much Kathy. I will let you know when we’re ready for that album. I do have a question about paper cutting that I’d love to know. I have paper cutters and they are easy to follow except when I need precise dimensions like 4 1/8th by 5 2/3’s cut. Can you recommend a product that would help in precise measurements? That would be helpful for matting, too! Thanks in advance for your time Kathy. 😘I
I have never cut anything 2/3...so I can't really help with that. I really like Fiskar's cutters. They have the 1/8" increment markers that I use the most and cut cleanly. I recently upgraded to their rotary blade cutter (an investment!) and I have to say, I'm loving it. It cuts clean and smooth every time and even has 1/16th inch markers. Maybe that would be a good match for your needs. It's pricey, though! Some of the smaller Fiskars blade cutters run about $20 and are very accurate. You just have to replace the blade regularly. Hope this helped!
Rose, that's a great question! Honestly, this image was on a scrap that was the right size for the shutter, and that's how I chose it. Anything can serve as a focal point. The trick is to make sure that everything else in a design supports the focal point rather than competing with it. If you study the creations from artists you admire, you'll see that's probably what they are doing. Take away anything that competes with the focal image, and you'll be in a great zone! Happy crafting!
Hi, Letty, the cardstock layer served as a border for parts of the tag. Since I had an uneven paint border, I wanted there to be a defined border to mark the space between the designer paper and the paint. I know I covered most of it up, but the edges are still visible, and it helps frame the project. Thanks so much!
Oh no worries! I made this project but mine looks a little different. I had people ask me to show them how to make it. I was wondering if you would be ok with that.
Very gorgeous. I could just sit and look at this piece and really wow ! Then you flip it over😳 OMG. 👧🏻
Thanks, Lyn! The size of these etcetera tags is so great for double sided projects! Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you so much, Gigi!
What an awesome project! I can never figure out how to determine the focal point - what's your secret!! thanks for sharing!!

Yay!
Enjoy!
This is simply beautiful!! Amazing! May I ask why did you glued kraft cardstock on top of the tag and not collage directly on the tag? Tfs.

Una preciosidad
Thank you, Mercedes!
Love this so much!! Absolutely beautiful!
I would like to ask you a question privately, how can I reach you?
How can I help you? I'm very careful about giving out my personal contact info. I hope you understand.
