I'm in Michigan and I am hard pressed to find anything near me. i have to go to the U.P. to find camping. I am close to the Indiana boarder so i hope to try it soon.
My Grandma lives in Homer. I use to stay with her on my summer vacations back in the middle school years. I remember going to Battle Creek and Albion. That's down south as well, not on the boarder, but close.
Hi Kenny, from MI. There’s lots of camping throughout the state. Most of it northern MI and the UP. As far as dispersed camping goes, not sure. But now that I have the truck camper, I’m going to start looking. Your videos inspire that. Thanks and keep up the great adventures!
You started spinning in the mud and I though "Oh don't get stuck, not a Ford in sight to pull you out "😁! Here in SW Virginia we do have some dispersed camping in the Blue Ridge and Shenandoah mountains, but not as many as you do up there. Just beautiful places you take us to.
Have lived in Idaho for 22 years, Maine for 16 before that. Minnesota reminds me a lot of Maine. Maine was a great place. My biggest concern was the summer influx of the Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut people. Idaho and it's people are great. 2 thirds public lands. Great Hunting, fishing and the people.
We’re a south central Minnesota transplant and had no idea what was available in northern Minnesota. We certainly need to make some plans to go north. Thanks Kenny!!
As a TC noob I’m always so worried about bumps, especially low speed on gravel. Watching you at 2:28 hammer that puddle made me pucker a bit. Guess I should relax a bit though!
I have put my camper through a beating! But I always check it out afterwards. My old Arctic Fox was made with a wood frame, it bends and moves. I worry about stepping up to the new aluminum framed models. I see on forums where people have issues with broken welds. I makes me wonder if aluminum is the way to go. I think maintaining the camper is key.
I am watching this from Fort Payne, Al. Just retired less than year ago. Not camping yet. On my learning tour to hopefully improve my camping experiences. Retired trucker of 33 years. Beautiful in Minnesota.
Thanks Ray! Congratulations on retirement! I appreciate you watching the videos. I'm still working full time, so my RUclips channel is all about weekend trips. I hope I can share some ideas or tips you can use.
Iam living in Newfoundland Canada and my husband and I just got a truck camper last fall had to do a bit of fixing but we are ready to discover nl back country.love ya shows we are watching your older once to catch up.❤❤❤
Bronx, New York. Plenty of camping in upstate New York. I saw you back out of one site. Just a tip always have the rig facing the exit in case you have to get out of there quickly. You have a nice rig. I saw another of your videos where you cooked a big Flintstones brontosaurus steak, that was cool. Safe travels.
Thanks for watching! I don't get a lot of chances to travel far from home, so I spend time traveling on Google Maps. I have seen that there is so much more to California than big cities. That is a state that's made it onto my bucket list. It's looks absolutely beautiful.
I just happened by this video, and wow, I remember camping around this area and fishing and all that, when I was a kid. My family has a cabin around Outing MN. And my patents grew up in Crosby/ Ironton area. I spent a lot of time up in these woods in the 80s and 90s.
Very cool. I'm glad you found the channel. I'm usually around this part of the state. I'm in-between the Brainerd /Crosby area, so it's not too far of a dtive for me. That's how I'm able to make a camping video every weekend while working a regular Monday through Friday job.
I don't drive and I live in Indiana and had to look it up. Dispersed camping is allowed throughout most of the Hoosier National Forest. I scrolled down through a lot of places. I live vicariously through you and other people who go out into the woods.
I appreciate you taking the time to follow along! I hope you are enjoying Minnesota. I know I don't travel as much as other RUclipsrs. I'm more of a weekend explorer....for now. Thanks again, I appreciate the comment!
Hey Mr. Kenny I'm watching the podcast where you are in the abandoned forestry ! And could have gotten stuck ! And as handy as you are , you need to put a winch on that heavy Chevy ! I did ,, And took the worry out of the fun !. Stay safe and May The Lord bless you and your family ! : Night Walker .
You have the same luck I have when it comes to fishing so I feel your pain. Great video, especially enjoyed hanging out in your camper. I always think it's so cool when Rv channels show the actual camping parts, maybe im weird? Most RVer channels unfortunately just go from national park to tourist trap, to beach and never show the real parts like hanging out drinking coffee ect. As usual awesome video Kenny 🤙
Thanks, Mandi has told me the same thing. She says I should share more of the time spent hanging out inside the camper......but I'm a really chill kind of guy....Im trying to say I'm boring and I don't have much to share. Maybe I'll keep the camera going next week and see what happens.
@@KennyOfAllTrades hey I’m chill (boring) too lol 😂 Sometimes I’ll just set the camera up and talk like I’m talking to a friend about random stuff then usually edit out 99% of it but most of the time I can get a little something to put on the video lol.
From Delaware and we have several camping areas, but not much in the way of dispersed camping. We used our truck camper for the beach and for Hatteras vacations.
www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07ZF9FK6W?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title I bought it in 2020. It's been a good camera. The company has reached out to me and offered an upgraded unit provided I make a video. Maybe I'll do it when this one fails, but this one works fine. I did a video on it once. The title is Truck Camping accessories. I listed a few of my favorite add-ons. Check out the video and let me know what you think! ruclips.net/video/VgiuUQ22Njw/видео.html
Kenny, we are in Northern Virginia, Walmart and Cracker Barrel are as dispersed as we have stayed in😂 The Stihl MSA220 is a great saw to take, just put it in a trash bag, with the chain cover on. Great Video 👍🏼🇺🇸
Thanks for the tip, ill check it out. What's your opinion on an electric saw? Obviously I'm not cutting wood like you guys. I have a bunch of Milwaukee Fuel M18 batteries that I carry in the truck. I can get a 16" off ebay for $199.
We do have alot of free camping in Nebraska, but not with the scenery you have. Did you keep that fish for the taxidermist to mount ? Would look great in the camper !😃🐟
Cool video. Here in Florida not much for dispersed camping unless you know land owners. Some water mgmt. districts have free camping in designated areas but pre registration is a must. Airing down the tires gets me thru most mud holes and makes deep sand a breeze. Yep, I carry a compressor.
All great tips. One day I'd like to install an on board air compressor, maybe even a small tank with capability to air up the tires to 80 pounds. I have an on board compressor for my air bags...I don't think it will do the trick. I'll have to research it more. Your the second person from Florida mentioning the lack of free dispersed sites. When I watch other RUclipsrs in Florida they often have trouble finding open campgrounds. Thanks for leaving me a comment!
I'm in Michigan and we have a lot of excellent dispersed camping spots. I've been up the Northshore in MN a few times and found a couple nice camping spots too. That first spot might work for us and a couple friends for another go up the Northshore and a little andventure inwards more. Might head up the Gunflint and look for something too.
For the sand and mud you could get some of the hard plastic traction pads they could mount anywhere and place under tires were needed or one of the portable electric winches. Love these camping adventures they are relaxing to watch. That k you!
I think you are right. Now that the channel is getting some views I hope to be able to afford a set of recovery boards this summer. A winch would be sooooo awesome!!!
Yep. Floor mats and shingles have got me out of a pinch a few times. Especially while plowing snow. A bundle of shingles weighs about 70 bounds. It's a great idea to carry 4 bundles in the bed. The extra weight over the tires is awesome. And if u get stuck, laying shingles down on ice and snow provides great traction.
From Northeast Philadelphia living in Europe, In up state pa theirs alot of mountain land for camping, but not to much in northeast pa we have parks for mountain biking and trail hiking but not much in terms for camp sites, but here in europe theirs alot of forests and mountain land to camp mountain bike canoe,
One day I would love to see Europe! My brother lives in Germany so I should take advantage. I took a look at Philadelphia, wow, there's a lot of people there. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the population. I took a look at Wissahickon valley park. It looks beautiful, but it must get busy?
@@KennyOfAllTrades Ive never been to Wissahickon valley park i guess it depends when you go but mostly camping isnt a philly thing lol. . . I always went to penny pack park went mountain biking alot thru the creeks then after gather rocks from the creek and built a fire pit to cook after biking all day, yea thats exactly why i left philly to many people for my taste i like sollitude myself, i have family in oslo norway and i plan on visiting maybe next year, im in Mechelan Belguim now near the center of town very old and beautiful, havent had a chance to go hiking or camping yet but i plan too
Yes, there have been a few sketchy videos this year where a winch would have been nice. I would do exactly what you said. I would carry it mounted to a receiver in the back seat. That would be awesome! Right now I stick every last penny into taking these trips for the channel. If it ever pays me back I will invest in one.
Burbank in eastern Washington! The whole state is full of back roads and hidden treasures. Western has the trees, coast line and rivers. Eastern has wide open spaces and best fly fishing rivers. Hot on one bc side, raining on the other - both full of natural beauty.
I have never been that far west. One day all make it out there. My dad grew up Medford Oregon. He would alway talk about working cattle on horses. One day all make it out there and travel to Washington. It looks amazing
@@KennyOfAllTrades Medford has grown up a bit since then, but there’s still a fair amount of agriculture and forestry done there. I live about 3 1/2 hours drive away, so pass through 3 or 4 times a year. It’s a beautiful area that I once considered moving to.
We are enjoying your videos. Just this weekend We started looking for new camping spots for the summer. We live in Central Indiana and this is not as many opportunities for dispersed camping as you do there. Thank you for sharing and God bless! 💜💙💜
I'm really lucky to have so many great spots around me. I wasn't aware how many opportunities I had untill I started looking for a new spot every weekend. Once I learned what websites to look at things started to open up for me. OnX Hunt is my favorite resource.
I’m from extreme Northern California, and yes, we have tons of dispersed camping out here. Huge redwoods, old Doug Firs, oaks and madrones interspersed with grasslands, sparse pine forests, even sub alpine in the Trinity Alps or Sierras.
I escape up to Superior NF dispersed camping. Just 3 hours north to beat the heat. Many sites on many lakes. Being a adventure motorcycle rider the BDR's out west run through forest and BLM land are super mint. Idaho can't be beat IMHO. Stay warm
That's really surprising! I just looked and Federal lands only make up 1.77% of the total land in Texas. The booster is a high boost. They sent it to me 3 months ago. I recorded a install video but told Hiboost I wouldn't release the video until I used it extensively. I think that's next week's video. I have been really happy with it. There's pro's and con's. But over all I'm happy with it. In this video I was able to send a text if I walked a couple 100 yards down the road, back at my camper I had no signal. When I plugged in the booster I was able to text and call from the camper...not enough to use data. There has been numerous occasions where I could not use data without the booster on. However, the booster has caused my signal to go down when there's really good service available.
Thanks for the tip! We do eat bass up here in the early season when the waters are cold. Once summer hits and the water gets warm, the bass starts to taste a little too fishy.
From Alaska, lots of free camping, but you won't get a fire pit nor a picnic table. Mainly gravel pull offs. There are many good state campgrounds though for a fair fee.
Thanks for another great video of places I’ll put in my bucket list. Your videos are always fun as your take us along bonus your quests for the perfect campground, on a lake, with fish. 😉
Great video Kenny. When I saw you spinning in the mud I thought you were in some real trouble. Glad the camper only took a small beating. I know we have some dispersed camping in New Hampshire and some day I will get adventurous enough to find more of it but so far my wife has no interest in those sights so we stick to the pay state parks. On a side note I finally have been catching some fish though while camping this weekend I happened to find a few ponds that had no fish in them but it was still nice to get the views.
Yep, Minnesota has lakes with zero fish as well. New Hampshire looks amazing in fall, or so I see on TV. Mandi and I want to do a road trip through the north east one day. I definitely want to see the history out there.
Hi Kenny, Fred and I were rooting for you to swing from the rope swing into the water. When I lived in Tennessee we had a place that we used to go to called Jet Bridge. The water was so clear and we had a swing like that there. We full time RV and travel all over the US. We find that out west does have the most opportunities and land to disperse camp on. We really loved the Sedona, AZ area for Disperse camping. You can get a case for a small chainsaw that should keep the oil off your stuff. Congratulations on catching your fish. 🎣 Mary💕Fred
I saw that AZ is ranked close to the top as far as public lands. I made it as close as New Mexico. You make a great point with the case. I'll look into that. I wanted to do the swing soooo bad, I was close to going. If Mandi was with I would have done it. But the idea of my breaking a leg went through my head, and I had to be back to work Monday.
@@KennyOfAllTrades Sedona was amazing. I (Mary) Hiked to Devils Bridge and the views were just breathtaking. It is not forrest like you have but what they have is beautiful as well. The camping is very spaced out and primitive with rock built fire pits from past campers.❤Watching the Sunset over the Red Rocks of Sedona is glorious. However, we have found beauty everywhere we go.Today we are headed up to Acadia and Cadillac Mountain as we are exploring Maine this month or so. Certainly don't blame you for not swinging off the rope without Mandi there, Smart. I am a bit more careful when I am out hiking without Fred. Tell Mandi we missed her this week. Both of you have a great week. Mary 💕Fred
Kenny, Texas is a huge state but unfortunately it doesn't have much dispersed camping opportunities. Most of the land is privately held. We live in the NE region of Texas. We have traveled to New Mexico to disperse camp
I would have kept it to feed the family...but a fish of that size will produce so much more for that lake...I was a responsible sportsman and allowed that monster to see another day.
We always had a travel trailer. In 20 years, the wife and I did dispersed camping, in thousands of different places in New Mexico. Great memories. Thank you for taking me along.
I was in New Mexico once. It was beyond beautiful. The state is so underrated. But I bet the people who know about it like it that way. I was driving through without any plans, and I came across some beautiful dispersed camping. The Rockies in New Mexico are gorgeous!
Hey Ken! I watch your videos from Pennsylvania. Being in the populous Northeastern part of the country does limit our camping choices a bit. There aren’t quite as many dispersed camping areas as Minnesota but we have some amazing spots here in Pennsylvania for sure. Really enjoy your videos and definitely puts Minnesota on the “to do” list on places to travel and see. Just a side note I’m an Office devotee also and an equally accomplished fisherman! (I scare fish away at every lake and stream I visit). Really enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your special moments.
Never while on a walk in the woods. I had a black bear at my house a while ago. I was having my morning coffee standing at my front door and the bear was walking right up to me. It got about 30 feet away and I asked what he was doing....the bear had no idea I was there, it got startled it and ran away. Most black bears are scardie cats untill they get used to eating out of dumpsters and bird feeders. We had a few nuisance bears in town a few years ago. But I never see them in the woods.
Kenny, you should get yourself one of those miniature cast iron frying pans, set that on a grill over the fire and put in the catch of the day ... you see where I'm going with this 😉
I was going to start off the video as a catch and cook...I figured I can stand to loose a few pounds. A two day fast would be a great way to kick off a new diet.
@@charlesb4267 I hear you. In my 20's I was big! I'd bounce between 325 and 340. Started working out, running, lifting weights. By 30 i got down to 185. I feel best at 225. I just need to get back in the gym consistently.
@@KennyOfAllTrades That is impressive as I get the impression a lot of people who are that weight that that young an age never get out of that cycle and end up with a shortened life on average. The last few years I've put on weight I shouldn't be putting on, combination of age, stress and not as active due to a bad back and the most obvious reason, eating or drinking too much of the wrong things which is entirely my own fault. When I used to be able to go on a bit of a camping/driving type summer holiday I liked going to National Parks in Canada or the USA and hike trails and so forth. Hiking up Half Dome in Yosemite was the most difficult single hike I happened to tackle and was a challenge for the shape I was in then, now I couldn't even dream of doing anything of the sort.
I hear you, I'm closer to 50 then 40....but there's guys in there 60's who could wipe the floor with, so I got to stop using that as an excuse. My biggest downfall was getting addicted to putting on muscle mass. I lived in the gym.I was chasing 22 inch arms for years. Hurt my shoulder and 250 pounds of muscle turned soft quickly. It's been a few years since I was dedicated. I got to get back in the gym and focus on being fit. Not the size of my arms.
I am from Prior Lake got my 1st camper last summer went to 2 campgrounds and I was not a fan of how crowded it was especially with 3 dogs very hard to keep Huskies quiet but we did it. I am very interested in finding these type of sites. I have a lot to learn!! So hard to even reserve a site a year in advance and our work schedule doesn't allow for that type of planning.
Next time you're at the store pick up a small bag of cafe bustello espresso and put one spoonful on the top of your coffee before you brew it you will love it
I live in Oklahoma and we have quite a few camping spots, I see why they call you Kenny of all trades I love the way you can see in your rear-view mirror with the camper on how is that even possible?
I stopped to check out those pull outs along the lake and could hear the flies hitting the side of my van. Beautiful view but too many flies for a peaceful time. Wouldn't have minded having you as a neighbor though.
Live in downtown Saint Paul and try to get the Jeep and tent out as much as I can. Love your channel for finding new areas to go boondocking in dude, keep up the content!
Thanks! Today was a challenge. But I just finished setting up on a lake with no houses on it. There's no campgrounds, no people, and two bars of cell data!! This place was a big score!
Ive got a question you may be able to help me with Kenny, I want to add solar to my RV just to run my lights and fridge ,Can i just run the wires straight to the excisting fuse panel or would i have to have all the extra components ,,,im trying to make this as easy as possible
I'm not your guy...... but, my uneducated answer would be yes, HOWEVER, you may damage your batteries. It would be better to run wires from the solar panels to a solar charge controller, then to the batteries. The solar panels might output voltages that the batteries don't like. Having a solar controller will convert the voltage into something the batteries will like. Solar charge controllers have come down in price considerably. I would install one between the panels and the batteries.
I forgot to mention. I would run the wires to the batteries, not the fuse panel.....again I'm no pro...but when I disconnect power to work on stuff normally I disconnect shore power, then the batteries. If you run the wires to the fuse panel someone might not look there when disconnecting power......if that makes sense.
Kenny, You caught a FISH!!!! You sure find some great sites Kenny. Here in West Central IL we have very few dispersed sites. We have public use areas along the locks & dams.....if you dare. The one just S of Quincy has been the site of numerous murders. Across the river in Missouri there are actually quite a few areas for dispersed camping along small rivers. They're well patrolled by DNR and I use to patrol them heavily "back in the day" Wow, that one mud hole was a rough one.....didn't think you were going to get out of it for a few seconds.....your truck didn't let you down though. Your drone footage was really good in the video......really enjoy it! Thanks again Kenny for bringing us along with you!
Thanks Richard. I would often find a nice quiet corner of the State Park to catch up on reports. I spent a lot of time running through the parks. All of our parks close at 10pm. I would always make contact with people after hours, but I never kicked out anyone who was looking for sleep. I figured it was more dangerous have someone sleep deprived on the road. But you and I both know what I would usually find going on in those cars...lol...it wasn't always sleep!
@@KennyOfAllTrades LOL.....a lot of late night ..uh....love? LOL......I always asked the woman if she was there by mutual consent.....then asked the guy the same thing to break the tension in a embarrassing situation ;) I was the same way also; if they were just sleeping....great, they're being responsible. This conversation sure brought back some great memories. I sure miss the life but fortunately my youngest is a Master Sergeant in the Hwy Patrol and is wife is a Assist. Prosecuting Attorney. So I still get their experiences on a regular schedule. Be safe my friend!
It was neat to see your TC handle the mud hole. It flexed a bit, but bounced right back. It definitely adds another thing to think about when you’re trying to get through rough terrain.
Hey, remember the part where I told you that you can't run through mud with house shoes on? You almost got in a jam. Put some tires on that rig before you get stranded in mosquitoville. Just sayin😎 Love the vids!
Thanks man! The tires are Nitto Ridge Grapplers. A cross between a mud and all terrain. I'm hoping to get another year out of these tires. There's no way I can afford tires right now!
Yea, I know prices have exploded on everything. Being disabled and on a structured budget, we feel the crunch too. Living here in Eastern Kentucky, the Daniel Boone mountain range is at my doorstep. There is some dispersed camping on into Appalachia by the Fed Forestry Commission. I just have only driven through a small portion but it's very vast. And hardly NO mosquitoes! Camping here in the fall is heaven, especially when the leaves turn. It's beautiful. Stay safe out there, I look for you vids every week
Thanks! I know you have been following along for a long time. I would love to head out your way in the fall. I have only seen it on TV, but documentaries about the Appalachians look beautiful.
It's a term that's gets thrown around, that's for sure. On state forest lands you can setup just about anywhere as long as you follow the rules. A lot of dispersed sites are already established. They frown up making new sites by cutting vegetation. I have visited a lot of dispersed campsites on County lands that are marked with dispersed camping signs....but some have latrines. Boondocking, dispersed camping...when I hear the term it means the same to me. Some people get really serious about it. People in tents have diffrent definitions then campers, some truck campers have diffrent definitions then people in class A's. That's just my feelings though.
I'm definitely going to look at picking up a Milwaukee chain saw. I am already running their batteries, so hopefully I can find a good deal on a tool only price.
@@KennyOfAllTrades I have the M12 with the 6" bar. But there are several other options to choose from. I get the idea behind saving $$ with a tool only Milwaukee purchase, but there might be an advantage to having a battery & charger that always stays in your camper. That way you don't have to remember to "get it back into your truck" like what happened with your sawzall. I stumbled onto your channel today and I'm really enjoying your videos. I've neglected that part of northern MN since moving here 30 years ago because I was fixated on the BWCA. I think my wilderness canoeing days are behind me but I still prefer isolated camping - hoping I can find some of spots you feature in your videos!
So Kenny, did you keep the little fish that you caught?? Talk about a little cutie! 🐠 🐟 🐡 Hey Kenny that is our cousin Louie!! 😣 WOW, going through those mud puddles really scares me, you never know if there's a big rock in there or something else! Your poor truck and camper! 🚙 😣 At least though, you got everything back in order and nothing was broke, that's so great my friend! 🤗 🤗 🤗 Gee, that campsite where you fished is probably my favorite of all!!! So very beautiful! I LOVE being at the waters edge, I think that is why I LOVE the Ocean 🌊🌊 so much! 🌲🎣Keep Camping Kenny🌳🏞 Your friend, Didi 👋 🌲 🐟 🐟 🐟 🐟
I'm from New Hampshire we have a lot of spots here mostly in the western part of the state and the northern part of the state where the White Mountain National Forest is...
KENNY - best channel on RUclips. Really nice job shooting / editing. Hey - what backup camera do you have in the truck? I'm shopping... THANKS for your work out here! 👍(Jim from Saint Paul)
I was going to mention the camera in this video. It is the cheapest backup camera on amazon. It's called Jansite. I bought it last year. I paid 49 dollars for it. I replaced a Promedio backup camera that lasted me 2 years. I paid 179 dollars for the Promedio. The Jansite looked just like it. I figured I'd give it a try. I'm happy with it so far. It has the same features as the Promedio and works the same. The components look the same as well.
Glad your slump is finally over Kenny. I think you might like nightcrawlers better. Can't get over how beautiful it is there. Kentucky doesn't have much public land. Look forward to seeing your next video. Safe travels.
That road did look quite sketchy! Very pretty place to camp...and free, wow! Glad nothing serious happened with the camper. Your camper is so nice and homey!! We are from WI and yes, we do but like MN mostly in the northern half. As always, Kenny, enjoyed the camping experience with you!! 💙Terry and Terri
I have been watching documentaries about Northern California, or should I say Jefferson. It looks amazing. The coast dosen't seem to be as populated and the forests are huge....actually the whole state is massive.
Woo Hoo!!! High-5✋ Ya got one, ya FINALLY got one! Albeit it was just a weee little lad, but it’s a fish and it’s NOW official…KENNY CAUGHT A FISH…KENNY CAUGHT A FISH!!! (Insert happy dance here) Congrats there Captain Ahab! 😉 Doesn’t Vic have a mini cordless chainsaw? Wouldn’t have to worry about bar oil or fuel leaking. Not like ya need a big hunker of a saw out there, just enough to clear the way So when you were at the rope swing, I was yelling DO IT…DO IT SEND IT KENNY SEND IT lol Yet another great vid my friend, ALWAYS enjoy Tuesday’s and seeing where your weekend ventures took ya. Again, never a disappointment (outside of never seeing ya catch a fish, but at least that saga is FINALLY OVER) with the locations you sniff out!!! PA has some nice dispersed camping in/around the Allegheny National Forest (north central PA), but nothing like your neck of the woods
I checked and those electric saws, they still use bar oil. I had the camera set up.....I took a short swing to make sure the rope would handle 275lbs......I was all set for the big show!!! Then visions of snapped ankles and broken arms ran through my head. Now that I'm closer to 50 then i am ro 40 I have to think about the risk vs reward..... Omg I'm getting old. If Mandi was out there I would have done it. Just to show her I still got it! She's younger then me and dosent let me forget it.
@@KennyOfAllTrades learned something new, had NO idea the electric one’s used bar oil as well. You might just need to stick with the sawzall Oh I hear ya about the age thing! Wait until you break 50 (I’m 54), I triple think over things before doing them now! Lol I’m my younger years I was a “send it” guy and after the fact thought of the implications of “the what if’s”…NOW the what if’s are weighed extremely heavily haha Lol to your “if Mandi was there” comment
@@mandib757 To be honest, I don’t really he think he hooked it Mandi. But I’m trying to make the guy feel good, after all he’s been skunked for how long now?! 🤔 Between you and I think he netted it, placed on the hook and then turned the camera on to make us think he caught it 😂 😝 😆
Watching from Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula. Tons of opportunity here. Enjoy watching your videos every week. Fellow Arctic Fox owner here :) Travel over to AK one day, will show ya around!
Hi Kenny, from Alaska and we have a lot of dispersed camping opportunities. Although Alaska has very few roads the state is huge providing ample opportunity to find a secluded camp site. We also have to opposing side of it where everyone will camp in one location to use a trail or fishing location. I am the secluded spot type of guy.
I did some research and quickly found that Alaska has everyone beat on public lands. The state is so massive. I used to watch The last Frontier on TV, I know reality TV is not reality. But the coastline of Alaska looks like Heaven.
Travel up to Alaska with a truck camper is an awesome adventure in itself. There are so many spots along the way to pull off for the night…some of the spots make you want to hang out for a while. Mid to late May travel is the best time to see wild life especially bears. Hope to see you up this way sometime soon.
I have not had the opportunity to go camping! I really want to. Going through a lot of personal stuff maybe in a year. From South Carolina but originally from Illinois. My sister lived in Minnesota but i would love to go
We live in Utah and have a lot of places that offer free camping. I am thinking about getting an electric chain saw. It would be good for cutting fire wood and clearing a path when needed.
Utah is one of those special spots with amazing scenery. I'd love to make it there on day. I'd like to pick up saw one day too. I think it would be more efficient than the Sawzall I carry around. Thanks for checking out the older videos.
I'm glad I asked the question, I've never looked at a map of Delaware before tonight. I'm surprised how many wildlife refuge lands are on the coast. The pictures of Black Bird State Forest reminds me of Minnesota.
Great video, my friend! I am pretty proud to see how you are doing with this! Keep up the great work and I hope to see you soon! I am glad you showed people how to 'rock' the truck to get it unstuck. Most peeps are unaware.
Which one are you looking for. I'll go back and watch the video and let you know. You can always email me. I don't usually put the sites online, but if you're passing through the area, I will help you find them.
hooray you caught a fish! i have been waiting and cheering you on... hooray!
Thanks! I have pretty bad luck with it. I usually catch a few fish and one out of every 25 fishing videos. Lol

That's great to hear.
The driftless is my favorite
You started spinning in the mud and I though "Oh don't get stuck, not a Ford in sight to pull you out "😁! Here in SW Virginia we do have some dispersed camping in the Blue Ridge and Shenandoah mountains, but not as many as you do up there. Just beautiful places you take us to.
That's an area I'd love to check out. I've seen some areas of the Blue Ridge on TV. It looks amazing!
Iam living in Newfoundland Canada and my husband and I just got a truck camper last fall had to do a bit of fixing but we are ready to discover nl back country.love ya shows we are watching your older once to catch up.❤❤❤
Oh Wow my stomach dropped on the hole😮😯😳
Bronx, New York. Plenty of camping in upstate New York. I saw you back out of one site. Just a tip always have the rig facing the exit in case you have to get out of there quickly. You have a nice rig. I saw another of your videos where you cooked a big Flintstones brontosaurus steak, that was cool. Safe travels.
Thanks for the tip!
I know we are late...but glad you made it out of that mud hole. We are from California and there are tons of dispersed camping out here.
Thanks for watching! I don't get a lot of chances to travel far from home, so I spend time traveling on Google Maps. I have seen that there is so much more to California than big cities. That is a state that's made it onto my bucket list. It's looks absolutely beautiful.
Thanks for the inspiration
That would be very handy. One day, I'd love to have a winch on the truck.
Im in Michigan and we probably dont have as much but to have a lot of place you can go, mostly northern lower peninsula and upper peninsula
@@worklessenjoylifemore I'll give it a try.
I agree! I love to see videos that just show actual camping so that is what we try to do as well. ;-)
I'll keep that in mind
From Delaware and we have several camping areas, but not much in the way of dispersed camping. We used our truck camper for the beach and for Hatteras vacations.
The rope swing is a blast but it goes high; it's a bit scary the first time. Water is beautiful and warm and it's nice and Sandy there
It looked super fun! I should have taken a rip! I'm just not as young as I used to be and don't heal up as fast.
Kenny, would you please send me a link to your rear view mirror camera. Thank you.
www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07ZF9FK6W?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
I bought it in 2020.
Lol, she was a beaut!
I know you've got work and family but do you think you might do a road trip one day, like a week to South or Canada, maybe here British Columbia 😁
100% in fact I'd love too spend a month or 2 in BC. Hopefully in the next few years.
Floor board mats have come in handy a few times.
@@KennyOfAllTrades Ive never been to Wissahickon valley park i guess it depends when you go but mostly camping isnt a philly thing lol. . . I always went to penny pack park went mountain biking alot thru the creeks then after gather rocks from the creek and built a fire pit to cook after biking all day, yea thats exactly why i left philly to many people for my taste i like sollitude myself, i have family in oslo norway and i plan on visiting maybe next year, im in Mechelan Belguim now near the center of town very old and beautiful, havent had a chance to go hiking or camping yet but i plan too
As many solo trips that you take, any plans to carry a winch? Even if it is on a receiver/hitch cradle? Store it in the back seat possibly.
I'm in Wisconsin, I find lakes that have islands with camp sites absolutely free up to 10 days. I plan on getting to Minnesota also
I'd like to paddle out to a few islands this summer and overnight in a hammock. I think that would be so much fun.
Check out the Turtle Flambeu Flowage in Wisconsin
We are enjoying your videos. Just this weekend We started looking for new camping spots for the summer. We live in Central Indiana and this is not as many opportunities for dispersed camping as you do there. Thank you for sharing and God bless! 💜💙💜
I'm really lucky to have so many great spots around me. I wasn't aware how many opportunities I had untill I started looking for a new spot every weekend. Once I learned what websites to look at things started to open up for me. OnX Hunt is my favorite resource.
Eastern NC we have a mix of county, state, and national parks but not as many as Minnesota
One day, I'd love to travel out east. The Blue Ridge mountians look beautiful in photos. I'd love to see them in person. Thanks for the comment.
I am watching from the UK. Very limited dispersed /wild camping available here. Great video vloggs
Thank you so much
I’m from extreme Northern California, and yes, we have tons of dispersed camping out here. Huge redwoods, old Doug Firs, oaks and madrones interspersed with grasslands, sparse pine forests, even sub alpine in the Trinity Alps or Sierras.
I have watched documentaries about northern California. It looks absolutely breathtaking! One day I'd like to visit.
I escape up to Superior NF dispersed camping. Just 3 hours north to beat the heat. Many sites on many lakes. Being a adventure motorcycle rider the BDR's out west run through forest and BLM land are super mint. Idaho can't be beat IMHO. Stay warm
Hi Kenny what a trip but Awesome Beautiful Amazing Gorgeous Scenery 😊
Texas here ! not that much dispersed camping ! Unless someone can tell me otherwise? What cell booster do you use?
Not sure if you can eat the bass from the lakes there, but use a plastic frog on those pads. Here in DE, the bass are always hiding among the pads....
I would love to visit Alaska someday. You are in a very beautiful state.
Thanks for another great video of places I’ll put in my bucket list. Your videos are always fun as your take us along bonus your quests for the perfect campground, on a lake, with fish. 😉
It's all my pleasure Bill. I'm glad to share my adventures! I hope you do check out some of these spots. The last few weekends have been fun.
@@KennyOfAllTrades I’ll be checking them for sure. Thanks for the encouragement.
Also, you should’ve definitely had that perch mounted with “Kenny’s first fish” on a plaque hung up in your camper 🤣
That's really surprising to hear about Texas!
98% of Texas is privately owned, good reason to stay away imo
Heading up there Thursday! Thanks for the awesome content as always!!
Awesome! The temps ate looking good this weekend. I haven't decided where to go yet. Usually by Friday I have a general idea of where to go.
Have I told you yet...? That is one beautiful truck!!
It's been awhile since I said that line in a video! Lol I agree, that's a beautiful truck and camper!
Congratulations on catching that huge fish!
Just found your channel! As you say MINT! From Minnesota. Going camping lots more we are RETIRED! Thanks for the information!
What a cute little baby Perch. Great video!
What you talking about? It was big!
You might starve catching that size fish…
Kenny’s first fish of the summer = 5” perch 👌
What size tires are you using on your truck?
Kenny, wondering if you see any bear in Minnesota ever? I'm from Minnesota too but I have only seen bear out of state.
@@KennyOfAllTrades Small meals and seldom, that is the key ... just keep fishing for food and your goal will become reality ! LOL.
Those are some pretty nice places off the beaten path! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, they were both beautiful!
Next time you're at the store pick up a small bag of cafe bustello espresso and put one spoonful on the top of your coffee before you brew it you will love it
Cedarwood repellent works great to keep bugs at bay.
And dude you find the coolest spots to camp, luv your vids Kenny
Thanks !
I live in Oklahoma and we have quite a few camping spots, I see why they call you Kenny of all trades I love the way you can see in your rear-view mirror with the camper on how is that even possible?
That's a 49 dollar rearview mirror camera of Amazon. It comes in real handy.
I know exactly where you’re at for Winnie! I have been there and wished I’d set my hammock in the lil nook of trees. That sunset is beautiful!
For a chain saw, maybe a large Rubbermaid tote in case of an oil leak?
Good ides!
I stopped to check out those pull outs along the lake and could hear the flies hitting the side of my van. Beautiful view but too many flies for a peaceful time. Wouldn't have minded having you as a neighbor though.
I have had the pleasure of meeting any viewers yet. One day it will happen. I think it would be cool to swap stories and favorite camping locations.
They're well patrolled by DNR and I use to patrol them heavily "back in the day"
Wow, that one mud hole was a rough one.....didn't think you were going to get out of it for a few seconds.....your truck didn't let you down though.
I think I've seen more affairs then Jerry Springer. Lol I would do same, talk with both parties to makes sure everything was good.
I live in Arizona and there is year round dispersed camping.
Just sayin😎
Love the vids!
They are beutiful.
Hi Kenny I am from Canada 🍁 l just Love 💕 your videos very much 😊
Thank you so much. I appreciate you following along.
I thought dispersed camping in mn state/national forest required you to be on non-campsites? Or, are these not fee based campsites your parking at?
It's a term that's gets thrown around, that's for sure. On state forest lands you can setup just about anywhere as long as you follow the rules. A lot of dispersed sites are already established. They frown up making new sites by cutting vegetation. I have visited a lot of dispersed campsites on County lands that are marked with dispersed camping signs....but some have latrines. Boondocking, dispersed camping...when I hear the term it means the same to me. Some people get really serious about it. People in tents have diffrent definitions then campers, some truck campers have diffrent definitions then people in class A's. That's just my feelings though.
You should get a small battery chain saw. Milwaukee has a good one, I use it for clearing small branches all the time.
Thanks Ken, If you ever see me out there, make sure to say hi!
SMH.. those fish must be picky on the your bait, lol I know they are on mine.lol
So Kenny, did you keep the little fish that you caught?? Talk about a little cutie! 🐠 🐟 🐡 Hey Kenny that is our cousin Louie!! 😣
WOW, going through those mud puddles really scares me, you never know if there's a big rock in there or something else!

OK - THANKS for info! I'll look it up... 👍
Glad your slump is finally over Kenny. I think you might like nightcrawlers better. Can't get over how beautiful it is there. Kentucky doesn't have much public land. Look forward to seeing your next video. Safe travels.
Thanks Tony!
Hi Kenny, would you be near Albertville, MN?
Could we talk off line?
I'm about 2 hours north of Albertville. I might try so head south this weekend though. I haven't come up with a plan for this weekend video yet.
You can always email me. Kennyofalltradeschannel@gmail.com
Could you repeat your message
You can reach me through the channels email.
Thanks, I am fonder of northern Minnesota myself
Hi Kenny here is a tip get a Steel Small Container fill it up half way or less of Coffee light it up it will keep bugs away 😊
I'm going to give that a try this spring.
22:01 that cell phone buzzing gets me everytime.
From California, we don’t really have dispersed camping.
I have been watching documentaries about Northern California, or should I say Jefferson. It looks amazing. The coast dosen't seem to be as populated and the forests are huge....actually the whole state is massive.
Woo Hoo!!! High-5✋
Ya got one, ya FINALLY got one! Albeit it was just a weee little lad, but it’s a fish and it’s NOW official…KENNY CAUGHT A FISH…KENNY CAUGHT A FISH!!! (Insert happy dance here) Congrats there Captain Ahab! 😉
Doesn’t Vic have a mini cordless chainsaw? Wouldn’t have to worry about bar oil or fuel leaking. Not like ya need a big hunker of a saw out there, just enough to clear the way
So when you were at the rope swing, I was yelling DO IT…DO IT SEND IT KENNY SEND IT lol
Yet another great vid my friend, ALWAYS enjoy Tuesday’s and seeing where your weekend ventures took ya.
You might just need to stick with the sawzall
Oh I hear ya about the age thing! Wait until you break 50 (I’m 54), I triple think over things before doing them now! Lol I’m my younger years I was a “send it” guy and after the fact thought of the implications of “the what if’s”…NOW the what if’s are weighed extremely heavily haha
Lol to your “if Mandi was there” comment
I don’t think that baby Perch counts for a celebration😂
@@mandib757 To be honest, I don’t really he think he hooked it Mandi. But I’m trying to make the guy feel good, after all he’s been skunked for how long now?! 🤔 Between you and I think he netted it, placed on the hook and then turned the camera on to make us think he caught it 😂 😝 😆
Watching from Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula. Tons of opportunity here. Enjoy watching your videos every week. Fellow Arctic Fox owner here :) Travel over to AK one day, will show ya around!
I will take you up on that offer if I ever make it there. It's definitely on the bucket list!
Alaska is on my bucket list! We will make it someday Kenny…
My sister lived in Minnesota but i would love to go
I think camping clears my head. Getting in nature with no one around keeps me grounded. I hope you find the same.
Delaware not much campgrounds mostly state campgrounds popular places is at beach
I'm glad I asked the question, I've never looked at a map of Delaware before tonight. I'm surprised how many wildlife refuge lands are on the coast. The pictures of Black Bird State Forest reminds me of Minnesota.
@@KennyOfAllTrades that’s where I live close by 15 min
Popular campground is Cape Henlopen always packed in summer not so much in late fall or winter
Aquafina coffee has got to be good! I have never tried it though.
I thought your camper got broken in to...
Oh no....that would suck!
Great video, my friend! I am pretty proud to see how you are doing with this! Keep up the great work and I hope to see you soon! I am glad you showed people how to 'rock' the truck to get it unstuck. Most peeps are unaware.
Thanks Curtis. Glad to see you found the channel! I appreciate the comment.
can anyone provide more info on specific sites in the vid??
Which one are you looking for. I'll go back and watch the video and let you know. You can always email me. I don't usually put the sites online, but if you're passing through the area, I will help you find them.
It was the one nestled between the 2 lakes. I didn’t see a name of the lake listed. Can I send you an email??
Yes, kennyofalltradeschannel@gmail.com
Bullheads ? That should clue you to fish the bottom. They taste really good
