As a non player who doesn't understand the appeal for AoS or why GW broke away from traditional fantasy battles, I'm interested to hear about this.
Alti- It was widely speculated that GW killed off WF because #1 it wasn’t selling like 40K and #2 they were interested in an IP they had complete control over. To me it seemed quite rushed, and the End Times lore is fairly universally despised.

I’ve been a 40K fan since 3rd edition. I’ve never played AoS or WF, but I did own some WF models back in the 90’s. For me, I probably would’ve put my toe into the fantasy tabletop games if they’d have simply updated the WF model range. I love the character, races and lore of that particular fantasy setting. The AoS lore is just horrific IMHO. Some of the sculpts are amazing and I could see myself buying one, just for the hobby project, but I can’t wrap my head around all the goofy races. I’m a fan of classic fantasy. I’ll get my fantasy fix from TWW. I’ll stick to 40K on the tabletop though.

Maybe it’s me, but I feel AoS has always had better looking minis. And I can use for other fantasy things such as D&D, whereas 40k is just 40k, which is cool, but not as versatile
