  • www.survivalnew... -- The Hilleberg Nallo 3 is the perfect tent for my bugout plan, or for family camping and hiking. If I'm solo, my Warbonnet Hammock does the trick, but If I'm with the wife and kids, my two little girls are too young to sleep in the woods unless I'm right there with them.
    Hilleberg makes the best tents I've seen, in terms of design and build. Go to the blog for all the details. www.survivalnew...
    My apologies to the Hillebergs -- I mispronounced their name in the first half of the video.

    Great content. I really appreciate that you didn't rush through it. I use a Nallo 2GT and couldn't be happier with the engineering of these tents. There really isn't anything on the market quite like a Hilleberg. Thanks for taking the time to share this.

    Well said re your comment about looking like a fool. It is the class folks who readily admit to regularly looking like a fool, it is the folks who try to claim they are on top of everything and don't make mistakes that one needs to run from as they are an ocean of trouble. There is a shed load of info in your video and it is well presented and extremely watchable.

    Hey hello, great vid! But a tip. If you store the tent. Open all zips, inner tent and from the outside tent and then fold the tent up, otherwise risk of damage to the zippers. With friendly greetings from out Scandinavia

    Nice! Can't fault your tent pitching skills, looked good to me :) I read on the Hilleberg site that each tent is made by one person from start to finish (even has their name tag inside) When things are built that way, there is very little chance of product failure. Looking at the Nallo 2 myself.

    Nice tent, that sand colour is real comfy looking. I've got an integrated pitch tent and get good results by tightening poles, stakeouts and then guys in that order.

    IM thinking you pulled this off quite nicely brother! Very nice tent, I'll look into it more. I really like the oversized storage bag, makes that much easier to get the tent back in! Side note, and IM proud to say, I have my first "official" bug out bag put together! Although I had my essentials I really didn't have a nice bag to put it all in. I went with the LARGE ALICE PACK as my bag. Good enough for jarheads its good enough for me haha.
    Good video man, take care, be safe, and most important God bless!~~John

    Really appreciate the video! Couldnt agree more with the sentiments towards hammock camping... i prefer it over anything else. however i was looking for an end-all tent system with ample space and minimal footprint... seems as though Hilleberg is the way to go!! thanks!!

    What made you select the Nallo 3?
    I'm saving up for the Hilleberg Kaitum. Not sure if I need the GT, the bigger vestibule version.
    I'm interested to know if you considered the Kaitum and why you have opted for the Nallo?
    I also like the new sand color. Now I have even more difficulty to choose what color will fit me best. The red is nice for shooting evening photos. The green and the sand if you don’t want to stand out to much. But in bad weather, spending some time inside. What will be the best to keep the spirit up? Like Jack mentioned already. The gold yellow inner tent will lighten your day. But does the outer tent color influence this as well?
    Great review.

    Great review, just bought the Nallo 2 because of your great info. I have one more question though. Your green hooded sweater, is that real wool? Sweeeeet! Where do I get one..? It looks like just the outdoor sweater I've been looking for ... :) Cheers, Tim

    • @brainsovereasy
      @brainsovereasy  9 лет назад +1

      Glad it helped you, Tim. That hoodie is the Lester River Bushcraft Boreal Shirt, made from 100% wool US Army blankets. The design, build, and materials are tops. It's pricey, at $250, but you're getting your money's worth. Tell a friend it would be a great Christmas gift. Check the web site for sizing info -- it's cut large. That belly pocket has internal compartments, too.

    I have a question: Can you pitch the Hilleberg Nallo on tough ground (like rocks) where you can't stick in the poles? Can it be freestanding?
    Thanks a lot, Cheers!

    Hi, thanks for the great review and all the details. I have a question I hope you (or someone else) can answer. I have bought this tent and will be using it in my upcoming hiking trip to Iceland. I decided to also buy the footprint (ordered it anyway). Does this footprint attach to the tent? And if so, can you leave it on when you back it back up when you leave for the next spot? Noob here, don't know how that will work yet :) Thanks for any feedback.

    • @VandrefalkTV
      @VandrefalkTV 8 лет назад

      I don't have this tent myself, but I've had other Hilleberg tents and yes; the tent bags are usually big enough to pack the tent with the footprint attached, and its very easy to attach to the tent via toggles and loops already present on the tent. I pack my Hilleberg with the footprint facing out (when rolling it up) for the extra protection, also against rain, and so that- should you have to pitch it quickly in bad weather, the footprint will be facing the ground with the tent ready to go on top. :)

    Let me guess it costs £1700 , don’t buy hilleberg until they lower there prices back down its a shame as I love them , nallo gt 2 3 years ago cost me £650 now £960 !! Why oh why no design difference costs of materials haven’t gone up that much . Human greed is disgusting

    The Estonian people were genocided by Communist Russia in WWII. I purchased a Hilleberg not only for the superior quality, but because they are made in Estonia. Got a huge laugh out of the bit about the Spanish! Nordland all the way!

    That tent weighs a ton, and no serious backpacker would even consider it.
