- www.survivalnew... -- The Hilleberg Nallo 3 is the perfect tent for my bugout plan, or for family camping and hiking. If I'm solo, my Warbonnet Hammock does the trick, but If I'm with the wife and kids, my two little girls are too young to sleep in the woods unless I'm right there with them.
Hilleberg makes the best tents I've seen, in terms of design and build. Go to the blog for all the details. www.survivalnew...
My apologies to the Hillebergs -- I mispronounced their name in the first half of the video.
Really solid video. I particularly appreciate your tips and pieces of advice, very grateful for your insights and advice.
Great content. I really appreciate that you didn't rush through it. I use a Nallo 2GT and couldn't be happier with the engineering of these tents. There really isn't anything on the market quite like a Hilleberg. Thanks for taking the time to share this.
Some of the best revues on RUclips . I learnt more about the Nallo here than anywhere else on the net
cheers from the Uk
This is one of the most to the point, concise video reviews I have ever seen...
Why would anyone give thumbs down to this awesome review???
That was the best tent video I have ever seen on youtube love that tent Im getting Nallo 2 for hiking in Victoria Australia you video sold it for me.
Hope you update us after your trip.
Is this u daryl
Well said re your comment about looking like a fool. It is the class folks who readily admit to regularly looking like a fool, it is the folks who try to claim they are on top of everything and don't make mistakes that one needs to run from as they are an ocean of trouble. There is a shed load of info in your video and it is well presented and extremely watchable.
Excellent tutorial bro, thank you very much, you convinced me to buy this tent. Best regards, Thaddeus (Tad) from Poland
Thank you for this outstanding review! It covers all that I need to know about the tent.
I already ordered my Hilleberg Kaitum 3 and can´t wait to build it up for the first time.
Greetings from Germany!
12:00 Best tip I never heard! Thanks mate!
Great video SnoMan - packed with useful advice and nicely edited. Couldn't be improved on. Thanks for sharing!
Very, very good video. Easily the most comprehensive tent review i've seen.
Thanks for the review. The Nallo 2 is on my to-buy list.
Hey hello, great vid! But a tip. If you store the tent. Open all zips, inner tent and from the outside tent and then fold the tent up, otherwise risk of damage to the zippers. With friendly greetings from out Scandinavia
We love Hilleberg tents. We have the Keron 3 tent. Great product!
Good video. I like your passion when delivering the information. I also enjoyed how you went over useful information. Cheers
Nice! Can't fault your tent pitching skills, looked good to me :) I read on the Hilleberg site that each tent is made by one person from start to finish (even has their name tag inside) When things are built that way, there is very little chance of product failure. Looking at the Nallo 2 myself.
Nice tent, that sand colour is real comfy looking. I've got an integrated pitch tent and get good results by tightening poles, stakeouts and then guys in that order.
just terrific, I have been eyeing the nallo gt for a while, as I am closer to buying one and re-researched it I found you had this one. hard to beat
What will be your color of choice? Sand, green or red? Also I like the Kaitum. What do you think?
Great review! On the subject of soggy ground the tent holds its salt. We had our 2 Hilleberg Aktos with us in the Swedish mountains for 8 days, pitched on a soaking marsh. Greetings from Sweden, G&B
Good to know, thanks. 8 days, eh? That will definitely put the tent -- and you -- to the test.
Great job! Great fine tuning tips I will use in the future!
Thanks
IM thinking you pulled this off quite nicely brother! Very nice tent, I'll look into it more. I really like the oversized storage bag, makes that much easier to get the tent back in! Side note, and IM proud to say, I have my first "official" bug out bag put together! Although I had my essentials I really didn't have a nice bag to put it all in. I went with the LARGE ALICE PACK as my bag. Good enough for jarheads its good enough for me haha.
Good video man, take care, be safe, and most important God bless!~~John
Really appreciate the video! Couldnt agree more with the sentiments towards hammock camping... i prefer it over anything else. however i was looking for an end-all tent system with ample space and minimal footprint... seems as though Hilleberg is the way to go!! thanks!!
Good Tent, Good video. I'm looking to replace my 7 year old Oryx 2 for motorcycle touring and Hilleberg looks like the best. So many options though it's hard to decide.
I have a snugpak the bunker 3person 4 season tent and it's really nice I do some winter camping and it's nice in the summer too.
Granite Gear Leopard represent! Best backpacking pack I've over owned.
I like the pull over that you are wearing in this video, what brand and name is it?
Quality tent mate. I have the Soulo and it is truly an outstanding tent. You get what you pay for. ATB Chebs.
Nice job!
Excellent video thanks
Love the tent..I like tents but I also use the hammock tarp system..
Ernie you the best
Great video, thanks.
What made you select the Nallo 3?
I'm saving up for the Hilleberg Kaitum. Not sure if I need the GT, the bigger vestibule version.
I'm interested to know if you considered the Kaitum and why you have opted for the Nallo?
I also like the new sand color. Now I have even more difficulty to choose what color will fit me best. The red is nice for shooting evening photos. The green and the sand if you don’t want to stand out to much. But in bad weather, spending some time inside. What will be the best to keep the spirit up? Like Jack mentioned already. The gold yellow inner tent will lighten your day. But does the outer tent color influence this as well?
Great review.
Excellent video, well spoken, and very informative. Thanks! Why did you choose sand instead of green? I'm trying to decide between the two colors.....
Really great. Would you still recommend this tent?
Informative video, thanks! Watson made it fun:)
Hoping you still use this? How is the ventilation? Do you get much condensation in there?
Great review, just bought the Nallo 2 because of your great info. I have one more question though. Your green hooded sweater, is that real wool? Sweeeeet! Where do I get one..? It looks like just the outdoor sweater I've been looking for ... :) Cheers, Tim
Glad it helped you, Tim. That hoodie is the Lester River Bushcraft Boreal Shirt, made from 100% wool US Army blankets. The design, build, and materials are tops. It's pricey, at $250, but you're getting your money's worth. Tell a friend it would be a great Christmas gift. Check the web site for sizing info -- it's cut large. That belly pocket has internal compartments, too.
Great detailed review!
I have a question: Can you pitch the Hilleberg Nallo on tough ground (like rocks) where you can't stick in the poles? Can it be freestanding?
Thanks a lot, Cheers!
V good!
When you put poles in you should pull tabs down before you pull tent to go up
Im digging that green wool anorak thing. What is that?? Where do you find them?
+NEntv58 see the answer below. RTFM.
Hi, thanks for the great review and all the details. I have a question I hope you (or someone else) can answer. I have bought this tent and will be using it in my upcoming hiking trip to Iceland. I decided to also buy the footprint (ordered it anyway). Does this footprint attach to the tent? And if so, can you leave it on when you back it back up when you leave for the next spot? Noob here, don't know how that will work yet :) Thanks for any feedback.
I don't have this tent myself, but I've had other Hilleberg tents and yes; the tent bags are usually big enough to pack the tent with the footprint attached, and its very easy to attach to the tent via toggles and loops already present on the tent. I pack my Hilleberg with the footprint facing out (when rolling it up) for the extra protection, also against rain, and so that- should you have to pitch it quickly in bad weather, the footprint will be facing the ground with the tent ready to go on top. :)
Thank you for the response and tips, that should work!
Cute dog
who makes that wool poncho?
I have the same tent and my dogs name is Watson too. Unbelievable.....
Yeah that's cool!
Jfc, $900! For that price they better send a rep out with my product, with the," Color, pictured" instructions, to set my tent up and make my family lunch...
you got the top O line tent. Time to upgrade your pack to the only one you'll ever buy. www.Kifaru.net get the tactical frame, just more options to work with. I have the Fulcrum, ill never buy another pack again. it can be a small day pack or an 8000ci heavy hauler. great video too!
Let me guess it costs £1700 , don’t buy hilleberg until they lower there prices back down its a shame as I love them , nallo gt 2 3 years ago cost me £650 now £960 !! Why oh why no design difference costs of materials haven’t gone up that much . Human greed is disgusting
The Estonian people were genocided by Communist Russia in WWII. I purchased a Hilleberg not only for the superior quality, but because they are made in Estonia. Got a huge laugh out of the bit about the Spanish! Nordland all the way!
err, it's not sunny....
What hat are you wearing?
Hilleberg must be paying some big bucks to all these shills, posting ads as real videos.
That tent weighs a ton, and no serious backpacker would even consider it.
it was but I have lost 28 mins of my life, that is to much.
