*Yes I pronounce "Qin" incorrectly during the whole video. I only read about the phone and didn't watch any videos on it so I simply assumed. I apologize for the mistake and I hope it doesn't detract from the review*
Hey there, hope you enjoyed this one!
Very lucky to find this at it the price I paid for it. It's a really good phone, a very unique one at that and honestly has a lot more features than I first thought.
Let me know if this is a phone you may want to try out - or if you already have one and how it's been!
Anyways everyone, thanks for tuning in and I'll see you in the next one!

Thing back in 2012 would be a Samsung Galaxy S3 like flagship but today... it's basically a glorified cheap burner slash camera with Android in it.
CPU performance is surprisingly good for the RAM though, and the GTA SA performance surprises me. Load it with emulator and external storage then it'll become a cheap, small, but fun retro gaming device.

These days budget phones come with a heck of a lot more than flagships do! Your fancy new $1k iPhone 13 Pro isn't going to come with a charger, a cable, a screen protector, headphones, sim eject tool, and a case like many of the cheap phones reviewed on this channel do.

Thank you for making these interesting videos! Cant wait to see more of the unique phones teased at the end :D I would personally love for companies to release smaller phones like the QUIN 2 with decent specifications and global versions, I am so sick and tired of modern massive brick phones, its hard to find anything even below 6.5 inches in screen size these days, and yes they are superior for content viewing and gaming but I can do that on my PC or laptop, having something compact would be so nice for every day use.

I think the problem is people buy the big phones for the big batteries and then the dumb design bosses go "look, people love phablets, only make phablets from now on". Give me something the size of an iphone 5 with a massive battery, I don't care if it's an inch thick.

I'm glad you pointed out that it's not simple to side load google play\services on the device.
The most recent time I've side loaded those was to a marshmallow device, so I can't say I've done it recently...
But I appreciate that you tell it like it is.
Some folks I know pass off the topic as if it was as simple as side loading any other apk onto a phone that already has Play Services.
Unless it's gotten simpler with new versions of Android... It's not that simple.
There are multiple reasons why having them officially installed is a good thing (but I'm not going to gloss over the fact that those services harvest tons of personal info and drain the battery)

  • @der_kluger_gunther8391

boi i was expecting a shitty one but, it's actually a good one! the screen is perfect, the audio pretty loud and the performance are legit enough. the google play services actually slow down the phone so, maybe, it's why this phone is still good even with 1gb of ram. i used this (basically disable every google thing) on an alcatel with the same amount of ram and it worked! it's faster and the battery improved too! btw awesome review as always

RUclips just recommended me this review. Of course I had to watch. I'm pretty sure I missed this the first time around. I really like the launcher this phone has. It kind of reminds me of Niagara Launcher a bit, except instead of a vertical letter bar it has the folders, which I honestly think is even better.
Is there a known reason for the six added user app limit? That seems incredibly arbitrary. I'm wondering if the Google Play editions and/or the Chinese market 64GB version also have that limitation.

The phone is way too thin. Why is it three times as long as it is wide? Surprised the screen is a decent quality. Highly customized OS which for Xiaomi is... bad because the more customized their OSes get the more likely it is to auto-brick. Not using Qualcomm or Mediatek would usually be an issue but Xiaomi blocks out the recovery methods (EDL/SP Flash) in those anyway, so it's not a big deal.

This would drop to 3G a lot in Australia, unless you use vodafone, and after 3G is shutdown, only vodafone would be suitable. Same applies to the qin 2 pro which is a rip off. You can get a Galaxy A12 for that with 128GB storage and 4GB RAM! Not only that but a better larger screen, better cameras, etc. Plus full reception and band support. The QIN 2 Pro is a serious rip off

I wouldn't call it a ripoff, it just isn't really made for the global market

I'd recommend using Microsoft Edge over Opera, otherwise you're just swapping one chinese browser for another chinese browser.

Qin is pronounced a bit like "tsin" rather than "quinn"

Yeah I looked up other reviews and found out it is that way. I just assumed since it's just a basic word that it would be said "qin". Doesn't matter though, I don't want to have to reupload the video because of the small error :(

@@SMOOREZ don’t worry about, he was wrong anyway. It's not “tsin”, the "q" is pronounced the same as ”ch", it sounds exactly as "Ching", Chinese character 亲-qīn
Unlike some RUclipsr, knowingly pronouncing Ali Express as "Allied Express." Apparently it's Mohammed Allied, not Mohammed Ali.
