I've had 4... 2 saloons and 2 estates.. the first saloon a 2.5 AWD was wrecked in a road rage incident (not me raging) replaced with a 3.0 AWD which was upgraded to a 2.5 estate (needed space for our dogs) all these SE... the first estate was upgraded to a 3.0 Sovereign estate... ALL have driven exceedingly well... the awd giving exceptional handling and great in the wet, snow... or on muddy ground (as happens at times when camping)... and my dogs? They love the good vision given from the rear.
I also purchased the X type 2.2 d auto estate 2008, and had the very same problem, heater plug warning light and gear box fault also went into limp mode. after watching your channel and others I did the Mr Muscle trick after drilling the hole and tapping it. Job sorted I also have left the bolt by the bulkhead out to speed the job up next time. I think after every service I will give it the Mr Muscle I also purchase the additive you recomended and add it on every tank fill from empty. thank you for the information I must admit really wasnt sure I was doing the right thing at the time seems wrong drilling into the back of the turbo.. But it works and runs great now. Many thanks.
I have the 2008 2.2 saloon with flashing coil light and gearbox fault. My mechanic says fix the actuator arm, do you think the turbo will also require cleaning?
