In this renovation project in Jardim América, São Paulo, we transformed a dark and compartmentalized 400m² house into a bright, open-plan oasis. The main structural change involved removing the service block and two surrounding walls, making way for a new construction that integrates the kitchen, bathroom, and dining areas.
The entire new block features Accoya cladding, creating a seamless design that disguises various doors and spaces. A 90cm curved roof now provides a covered walkway around the house, enhancing visual permeability and connecting the lush gardens on both sides. The final touch is a stunning roof garden, forming an 'L' shape with the existing structure, adding a tranquil green space to this modernized home.
Watch the full transformation and see how thoughtful design can breathe new life into a home!
