Great catch with BNSF H1 Dash 9 #1010, UP SD70M #5087 and BNSF ES44C4 #7072 pulling a coal train! Neat catch with UP C45ACCTE #7639, UP SD70M #4628, and UP C44AC #6758 pulling an Intermodal! Cool catch with BNSF SD70ACe #8488 and BNSF SD70MAC #9854 pulling a coal train with BNSF SD70ACe #8491 and BNSF ES44AC #6192 as DPU's! Neat catch with UP SD70AH #8926 and UP SD70M #4819 pulling an Intermodal with UP C45ACCTE #5334 as a DPU! Excellent catch with BNSF ES44DC #7223, BNSF AC4400CW #5618, and UP C40-8 #9204 pulling a manifest! Awesome catch with UP Dash 9's #9666 and #9604 with that unusual ACWR GP40-2LW #9593 pulling a manifest! Amazing catch with BNSF ES44C4 #6536 pulling a manifest solo! Also, I saw Amtrak reefers on that train. Spectacular catch with BNSF Executive SD70MAC #9764 and BNSF Dash 9 #4518 pulling an Intermodal and autorack! Great catch with KCS SD70ACe #4182 pulling a manifest with KCS AC4400CW #4618 as a Mid DPU! I'm curious why they put the DPU unit right before the last car. But that added Intermodal to the manifest. You got some good stuff!
Awesome video man. That catch with ACWR visitor on pass right by a friend of minds on UP Beaumont Subdivision. He then turn and got on UP Lake charles subdivision and then hope on UP half of the Lafayette Subdivision
Great catches, buddy! That ACWR unit was heading to Purcell, which is near San Antonio. It was purchased by a fracking company out there. And since that BNSF manifest with the solo C4 had some of those Amtrak reefers in it, I'm thinking that it was either the M-HOUTPL (Houston-Temple) or M-HOUSLA (Houston-Slaton) taking the cars northward to be forwarded up to Colorado. And on that last train, I can't remember the symbol off-hand, but the cars behind the mid-train DPU are the Kendleton set-out. And I guess that on that day there was only 1 car going to Kendleton, so you got that funny situation.
Thanks buddy! And oh wow, never knew that short line unit from the east would be purchased by a small fracking company in Texas. Guess I was just lucky to be there when that ACWR unit was being shipped someplace near San Antonio. And maybe that last train could've been the QKCNL? Cause someone told me that QKCNL's are the only WB/SB KCS trains that have mid-train DPU, but then I saw that Robert Pierce caught the QSHNL last year April by checking his site and it had a mid-train DPU as well.
Great catches! Interesting how UP had 2 8926s, an SD70ACe and an SD90MAC-H and EMD got the ACe design off the -H design. Also interesting how a MAC was leading the intermodal since they are usually on coal trains. I hope to catch another executive MAC sooner or later as well as an H2 MAC since I haven't seen one leading yet. Also cool how the KCS DPU was only in front of 1 car. And how a smaller railroad visitor came your way. I see you didn't get any Class 1 foreign power your last 2 railfanning trips in Texas. Maybe the power shortage is getting under control.
Thanks Nicholas! It's pretty interesting how two 8926 existed with the ACe design being inspired by the H, and how I caught an Executive MAC leading an intermodal the second time. I would like to catch a BNSF ACe leading something else like a manifest or an oil train since I caught a lot of them on coal trains. That would be cool if you could catch another Executive or even an H2 MAC leading, maybe the Rivanna/Penisula Sub might have some on their oil trains. Yeah, for not getting at least one foreign power for my last two trips in Texas, maybe it could've been either that or I was just not there in the right time.
***** I'm sure you'll someday get an ACe on a non coal/oil train. The oil trains we get normally have MACs, ACEs, GEVOs, Dash 9s, or CP units. And I guess so
I caught that same Aberdeen, Carolina & Western unit on CSX Q619-25 on Dec. 26th here in Georgia, when it was being shipped to New Orleans for interchange with UP
Awesome video! I would've loved to see that first train with the H1 leader and GEVO trailing, and it sounds like it has a really fast bell! And I guess you're back in Texas now, and it seems you had a typical day this time around
Thanks Grant! Yup, since the GEVO was trailing 3rd out with an H1 leading, and it sure had a fast ringing bell like the time when I caught BNSF 5520 leading a transformer load last year May. And yup, I was back in Texas since Jan 3rd and my school started on Jan 6th, so it's gonna be another semester of grueling work.

Thanks! It sure did, and since it appears that 9204 has a P3, it would've been nice if it was leading

Yeah, that sounds right. It was probably the QSHNL or the QKCNL (Though more likely the latter).
great catches Shawn especially with that ACWR Unit
Thanks Jeremy!
