Greetings from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. I purchased my "Wrecker" tickets today and told my wife I'm bringing binculars and folding chair. I chuckled when I heard Lizzy make the same recommendation. See you guys next week.
On these deep snow recoveries it would really help you guys out a ton to air down the stuck vehicle's tires a bit to help with traction and float. On that Tacoma you could have easily gone down to 15-20psi without risking popping a tire off the bead and it would have made a huge difference. I regularly drive my tundra in snow that deep and air down to 8-10PSI without issue and the amount of float and traction gained is remarkable. Love what you guys do! Keep up the amazing work!
I was thinking the same thing. I've had my frontier with the same size tires down to 8 psi before and it works wonders. Just don't rev the crap out of the engine like lizzy was doing there. That's how you debead a tire.
@@joma13344 I like Lizzy, but if I saw them coming to recover me I would politely decline to let her drive my vehicle. She is really rough on stuff because she doesn't know what she is doing. A 5-speed automotive transmission is not the same thing as what she encountered on tractors in her youth.
Great work/teamwork as usual. It's good to see that SNORR Jeep with chains on the front. Having lived in snow country (Western Wyoming) for many years we routinely chained up all around in snow and greasy bentonite mud.
Great video as always. I would like to mention a tip though (probably wouldn't have helped much in that situation but for future reference.) All Tacomas and 4Runners that say "TRD Off Road" on them have a rear locking differential from the factory. If it says "TRD Sport" then it's got a rear LSD. Hope this helps for future recoveries!
Somehow the snow/ice cut my abs wire mounted to the rear diff. Every traction control light on the dash was on. When it got back to pavement it even locked out 4wd. There was no atrac or rear locker option when getting the truck out.
Looks like you have room for a square body radiator & Crown Vic Fan. Maybe Paul has one to donate for the cause. Its amazing the Bombie can handle what it does. I love TT's Idea of an LS, adding a desent sized aux cooler in addition to the one in the radiator should give you years of reliable service! It warms the fluid when it's cold but also equalizes temps better between trany & engine yielding a ton of usable capacity without any spikes. Fluids tend to last longer. Most people myself included don't change their coolant every 2-3 years & I know better! Even my transmission fluids get pushed out on my non towing rigs... I need to install drains in everything so there is no excuse lol... but I'm like you... I get busy with life & forget. Love the hand valves on my tow rigs... allows me to quickly install the clear tube & drain my oil into empty jugs... & not spill a drop.
Matt should hit Paul up for the Ron Davis radiator that he pulled out of the FJ. It may be great for the Bombi. Matt should have Paul and Ben overhaul that Ford Eco-Boost engine and add new sending units and gauges, so Matt has total control of the operation of the vehicle.
I enjoyed the snow recovery. I’m from the north and as very familiar with deep snow. I’m amused by people that aren’t use to deep snow😊. Thanks for the video 👍
I feel like if you put that much power to the final drives, they're going to explode. An inline six would probably be a better option if there is room, and a much bigger cooling system to support the larger engine. But I don't know anything about snowcats so maybe I'm wrong. Excellent recovery as always and glad the little Bombi made it out.
All other issues to one side, I NEVER cease to be amazed by the utter natural beauty of the USA!! Am coming over (from France) to give my kids a genuine US road trip in April, and the I simply can't wait!!

Good morning Matt and friends from Minnesota, it's currently 12 below zero as I am writing this comment and I am so jealous of you having 40-50 weather! LOL
Lizzy - pro tip - when your driving a manual in icy/slippery conditions, start in 2nd gear. It will bog down the engine and the result will be better traction to get moving.
Thanks for taking us along on your adventures! I live in northern Canada you need a snow plow on that machine, we use them up here and its makes a big difference in 3-4 feet of snow!!!
I would love to be able to help you guys upgrade the Bombi. I have an idea for the cooling system, mostly being putting two radiator by the side panels. I would definitely suggest a snow shovel and broom. Awesome video, and its nuce to see the Bombi back
Matt is a BEAR....Matt is a BOSS in what he does...In short sleeves, SHARP eye & PRECISE movements...He is on another league...Jamie & the kids should be utterly proud of their SUPERHERO!
My suggestion would be to check the head-gasket on the Bombi, as that could pressurise the water cooling system and give you the symptoms, you seem to be experiencing. Also the temp gauge can be checked by just putting the sensor in a cup of boiling water, to see what the gauge shows. I love this youtube channel above all others. Keep up the great work.
The job was done with lots of fun and a heck of a lot of learning and I'm looking forward to the new and improved Bombi Bigger Badder and Badder. Please bring more shovels and maybe a brush for moving and cleaning off the snow!
Is that where he was? It didn’t look familiar to me. I drove up there last month and didn’t get very far In before getting stuck. Can’t believe that Toyota made it that far in
@@youoverland4430 the last couple of years it’s been pretty fun wheelin in the snow up there but with the amount of snow then the thawing and freezing into ice this year it’s been challenging for sure. Glad you got it out 👍
What a dandy snow machine that Bombi ( made by Bomdardier - Ski-=Doo in case there are some folks who did not know this. ) is, but I'm think the guys are 100% correct, they need to do a few 'up-grades' to this one for their application(s) . Great video folks!
-- Glad to hear the plans for the Bombi. Been radio blackout on that, other than me always moaning you should make a series out of beastifying that thing. Also glad to hear you're going to play to it's strengths. It needs to be small and light to get into such places. HeavyD's (awesome cat) wouldn't have had a prayer with that. Think Robbie's with all that cargo and crew cap has a lot of potential as well. Tell'em to take care of that thing. Thumbs up.
Matt did say a while back that they intended to work on the Bombi this year but the wrecker was taking up all their time and space in the shop so it was going to have to wait.
As far as the overheating goes, another thing that you may consider is the amount of air that is getting into the engine compartment. I would look into adding more louvers to the side panels and maybe include fans with temp sensors to them for added airflow.
Love your videos! A thought I was having while watching - and this may be overly simple - but I wonder if that long upper hose to the radiator is getting a big air bubble stuck in it so that the coolant is circulating as it should. It be curious if a shorter hose that stayed flat from engine to radiator would help.
The bombi should totally get an overhaul with a beefy engine and transmission. The team should just get crazy with radiator and transmission cooling, Tomtom can engineer the crap out of that. Lizzie has vividly cool looking eyes. The editing and drone shots were glorious. Thanks for the entertainment!!!
What was funny was when Lizzie wondered if she could turn it on; as opposed to starting it, which was also in question. Seriously Lizzie's the best, even in snow pants.
When is that mega transformation on the snow truck coming? Your fans in Spain r looking forward to it! Keep up the good work ! Saludos desde España. 🇪🇸
I like that Mattisum , a Mattisum is a problem that could have been avoided but made much worse by Matt ignoring maintenance on his money making machine's.
Yep, made that mistake on wife’s car lady year. For some reason she took issue with the glamour scratches which I thought gave it character. She felt otherwise. $350 detail and buffing and I can now sleep in the house.
Some radiator theory: Puking coolant is not boiling over; that's just venting. Boiling over is when the engine is so hot it is evaporating the coolant and showing steam coming out the fill port. This is "not cute" (as opposed to just flashing off the liquid on the engine from the snow, ie, cute). Water boils at 212 degrees at atmospheric. Matt's group is in the mountains, so boiling might be a bit less at mountain atmospheric. If you put your coolant at 50/50 antifreeze, which gives up to -20 F protection on freezing, you now get a boiling point of 223 F, which is better. If you put a cap on the coolant system rated to vent at 15 psi, you are now operating at atmosphere + 15 psi, and boiling point is now 268 degrees. Small block Chevies, which were in everything prior to everything getting LS swapped, are rated to 250 degree operation. The reason the Bombi is struggling on cooling, like said, is because the radiator can't handle the peak load. However, if you put a radiator that CAN handle the peak load, the thing will never warm up and run well and give heat in the cabin, unless a proper thermostat is put in. A performance, hi flow, stat like a Superstat, set to something decent like 180, and a massive radiator, will keep the thing nice and warm during normal operations, but dump open the whole awesome cooling capacity of the new boss radiator when needed. It's always good to have extra radiator capacity. Since Matt's group is rebuilding the Bombi, I won't send him an infrared thermometer to get accurate, on the fly, temps because it sounds like he's getting rid of the problem entirely.
I really hope we continue to see Matt, Lizzy, and Tom Tom as the consistent crew, with the other occasional featured guests such as Jefe, Jayme, Ed, exc.
To be honest, I don’t really care for Tom Tom. He kind of throws the dynamics off in my opinion. Was way more fun watching it when the other two guys were there. Guess for comic relief lol.
@@peterlindsay2869 I think Matt needs to match Tom Tom's skill set and role. He might be better suited to calming the day-to-day chaos than to helping Matt with recoveries. Since Matt is so good at recoveries, having both work the same one seems like overkill.

Excellent. My mother was a ski instructor on Mt. Charleston. (Lee Canyon). San Diego, California is another place. Wintertime you can go surfing in the morning and skiing in the afternoon without leaving the county.
Pro winter tip: if you drop your keys in the snow, dry them out REALLY good before you stick them in a lock. Otherwise your lock will be frozen solid next time you go to use it. If you do freeze the lock up, you can either squirt some methyl hydrate / alcohol into the lock and wait for it to thaw, or heat a key up with a lighter and use the hot key to thaw the lock. Don't combine alcohol and open flame though!
I was skiing one afternoon years back. Riding up on a lift and my keys dropped out of my pocket without me even realizing it. End of the day, got back to my truck and had no keys. Locked out. Retraced my afternoon because I had ate lunch at my truck. Spent the afternoon skiing off of one lift. went to the Ski area Lost and Found, told them what had happened. An hour later a ski patroller showed up with my keys!!! Had a bright red car alarm box on my key ring. Kirkwood Ski resort, CA... One in a million!
I would definitely have run that track out in the Bombi a few times first. We do this with snowshoes to recover snowmobiles, etc and it can make a difference in pounding down the loose snow into a better track
Lizzie, winter tip. Don't try to start it before you look under the hood. Snow fills every corner and you can destroy the fan belts , water pump and alternator by starting a jammed-up engine. The fan can go through the rad before you've even done the first pull. Also, drive the Bombi right up to the casualty to make a clear path, then reverse back a bit, cuts down on digging.

Matt, standing next to them, it almost seemed like you were wearing a tshirt, shorts and flip flops.
I like TomTom and Matt's dynamic. They could probably build and recover just about anything and do it while staying cool headed.
You guys are awesome! The fact that you service so much of the surrounding area is amazing! Keep up the great work MORR team!
Matt has mentioned previously he doesn't like to air down the stuck vehicles because of liabilities
It is all about the drama show now, though. Can't let logic or reason get in the way of the drama.
@@joma13344 I like Lizzy, but if I saw them coming to recover me I would politely decline to let her drive my vehicle. She is really rough on stuff because she doesn't know what she is doing. A 5-speed automotive transmission is not the same thing as what she encountered on tractors in her youth.
@@mrmotofy Matt worried about liabilities? ... he didn't appear too concerned about damaging the customers vehicle.
Great work/teamwork as usual. It's good to see that SNORR Jeep with chains on the front. Having lived in snow country (Western Wyoming) for many years we routinely chained up all around in snow and greasy bentonite mud.
Even then it’s sketchy
I just want to thank you for being a great role model for my grandson! He loved seeing you all today. We are looking forward to seeing you again 😀
Nothing makes my Freakin Friday morr Freaky than a Friday Morning Matt Video!
I was wondering why the back tires weren’t both spinning since it’s a trd off road.I know it has to be in four low for the electric locker to engage.
Matt has no sense of hot or cold apparently 😳. He is just built different lol. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the ride
He was overheating in the cab which means he's always warm.
@@mediocreman2 Logic
He explained it once on a doomed mountain recovery night. He just embraces the cold and lets it sink in. Stops fighting to remain warm. Very Zen IMO
I enjoyed the snow recovery. I’m from the north and as very familiar with deep snow. I’m amused by people that aren’t use to deep snow😊. Thanks for the video 👍
Humans are mammals, which have the ability to regulate their body temperature. Just most people's bodies go to survival mode very quickly.
Looks like a really nice Tacoma, can't believe Matt used a shovel to clean the snow off of it lol. I would be pissed.
Don't worry matt never seen it he was too busy looking into the camera. Lol posing his ego for the camera.
He did the last bit by hand, no damage done
@John the video doesn't lie. Just because he "did the last by hand" doesn't wash away the first part... your logic is a bit off my friend. 🤦
@@theuglytruth8162 Cool! Good to see you trolling more than once on this video!
I keep checking for you content but can never find any, what's up with that?
Are you too consumed with your relationship with Matt to post any content?

Great recovery, concerning shovel work at a couple points lol
Matt crew you guys did a great job. It is so beautiful up there. I need to get that bigger radiator for the bomb B. Glad everybody made it out safely.
Great job on the recovery. Enjoyed the drone footage.
Upgrading the Bombi will be limited to what the remaining original parts of the drivetrain can withstand. None of it was designed or built to handle 300+ hp.
What I would do to have buddies like you do, Matt. You are blessed.
EXCELLENT VIDEO GUYS......I can't believe how you guys ALWAYS make it back....so cool !!.... working together ALWAYS getting the job dun !!..... thanks for sharing this with us!
Good morning Matt and friends from Minnesota, it's currently 12 below zero as I am writing this comment and I am so jealous of you having 40-50 weather! LOL
Cold in North Dakota. Minus 12 would be a heat wave here
Lizzy - pro tip - when your driving a manual in icy/slippery conditions, start in 2nd gear.
Awesome video, and its nuce to see the Bombi back
"...it's overheating, but in an adorable way..." 🤣🤣 I love the way you all talk while you are working.
Matt is a BEAR....Matt is a BOSS in what he does...In short sleeves, SHARP eye & PRECISE movements...He is on another league...Jamie & the kids should be utterly proud of their SUPERHERO!
As a Norwegian fairly used to snow and cold weather, I'm pretty impressed by Matt wearing short sleeves in these conditions. 🙂
He said it was 10 degrees.
A proper Norwegian wear short sleeves at 0 degrees Celsius.

Lizzy just gunning it on the rev limiter was just gold 😂😂
That's what rev limiters are for, afterall.
Another great recovery Lizzy thanks for all you do
The shovel on the windshield hurt
Why would anyone do that.
I realize just how deep this snow is . truck is plowing thru and collecting snow on the undercarriage ,, Cliff Please Stay Healthy and WARM
Just came from robbies video with his snow cat and now I get to watch Matt with his, what an amazing day!
Austin?? from Charlette county??
The job was done with lots of fun and a heck of a lot of learning and I'm looking forward to the new and improved Bombi Bigger Badder and Badder. Please bring more shovels and maybe a brush for moving and cleaning off the snow!
I often camp up in Macks Canyon. Fun place for snow runs and great sunsets. It's cool to see you guys doing recoveries out here
Is that where he was? It didn’t look familiar to me. I drove up there last month and didn’t get very far In before getting stuck. Can’t believe that Toyota made it that far in

@@youoverland4430 the last couple of years it’s been pretty fun wheelin in the snow up there but with the amount of snow then the thawing and freezing into ice this year it’s been challenging for sure. Glad you got it out 👍
Great to see happy Lizzie again.
Shovel on a windshield is no Bueno Matt 😬
Get er done and that is sure what you all did. Nice job MORR. The off-road Olympics is going to be awesome.
The orange was a FAR BETTER choice for a victory treat! Entertaining as always, guys.......Thanks for sharing.
I love how you're scraping snow off the hood with a shovel. It's always good for the paint to do that at least once a year.
Anyone else cringing at Matt scrapes the snow off the windshield and hood with that metal shovel? Lol
An aluminum shovel but, that means nothing to a; flaw seeker, fault finder and nit picker. Keep up the negative Brandon.
@@iguanaamphibioustruck7352 nitpicker is one word haha
The bombi should totally get an overhaul with a beefy engine and transmission. The team should just get crazy with radiator and transmission cooling, Tomtom can engineer the crap out of that. Lizzie has vividly cool looking eyes. The editing and drone shots were glorious. Thanks for the entertainment!!!
What was funny was when Lizzie wondered if she could turn it on; as opposed to starting it, which was also in question. Seriously Lizzie's the best, even in snow pants.
Anyone else cringing when Matt was using the shovel to clear snow from the hood?
When is that mega transformation on the snow truck coming? Your fans in Spain r looking forward to it! Keep up the good work ! Saludos desde España. 🇪🇸
"So it is overheating but in an adorable way." That is 100% a Mattism.
I like that Mattisum , a Mattisum is a problem that could have been avoided but made much worse by Matt ignoring maintenance on his money making machine's.
If I owned that truck, I'd have been nervous as heck, watching Matt use a steel shovel to clear the windshield, and the hood!!
And a cameo with Trevor in the near future. 📸
@@jeremylynch490 That would be acceptable.
To be honest, I don’t really care for Tom Tom. He kind of throws the dynamics off in my opinion. Was way more fun watching it when the other two guys were there. Guess for comic relief lol.
@@peterlindsay2869I agree 100%
@@peterlindsay2869 I think Matt needs to match Tom Tom's skill set and role. He might be better suited to calming the day-to-day chaos than to helping Matt with recoveries. Since Matt is so good at recoveries, having both work the same one seems like overkill.
That's a good crew you have got up there! You, Lizzy and TomTom? Come on, that's a GREAT combination sensible smarts and old friendships!!
Everyone seems to mostly know what to do without being directed. That's the sign of a good crew who are good friends (and relatives) for many years! They all also know when to, and when not too, look at the pleasantly nerdy camera guys! At least in the edited final version. 🎬 📷
A really kind, funny and relaxing video, a good way to start my day! ❄️
Thanks guys! 🙂
Are you really taking the snow off the hood with a shovel!? 🤣🤣
Ail of You all, are ADORABLE !! Great job,and successful recovery, Thank You.
I would definitely have run that track out in the Bombi a few times first. We do this with snowshoes to recover snowmobiles, etc and it can make a difference in pounding down the loose snow into a better track
Good morning MORR team!! Happy Friday to anyone who reads this and I hope your day is filled with pure joy and happiness! Another great episode!!
nah fam i get those suicidal thouths bro aint fun
Lizzie, winter tip. Don't try to start it before you look under the hood. Snow fills every corner and you can destroy the fan belts , water pump and alternator by starting a jammed-up engine. The fan can go through the rad before you've even done the first pull.
Also, drive the Bombi right up to the casualty to make a clear path, then reverse back a bit, cuts down on digging.
Oh my goodness gracious me, that shovel! The sight of Matt engaging in such an act of treacherous tomfoolery with the windscreen has left me with a feeling of great consternation and perturbation. My delicate sensibilities are quite overcome with worry at the thought of him carrying out such a hazardous endeavour without due care and attention to the risks and consequences thereof. The prospect of that windscreen encountering some calamitous fate or suffering some unfortunate mishap leaves me trembling with apprehension and unease. In short, my dear fellow, please desist from such recklessness and refrain from placing windscreens in harm's way.
