I commend Jaime for being a bit nervous and not bowing to peer pressure to drive faster than she was comfortable with. And then find out she was in 2wd. Gotta like that lady. You have a good one.
Favorite part was towards the end of the video where the music starts playin' and a few seconds later around 15:38 - the sudden low hypnotic sound of the turn-signal - - aaand then back to the music. Great little piece of editing humor! Thanks for sharing on this icy morning! 👊
What's impressive was the vehicle that was built. A corvair station wagon and Matt knew it would make a perfect off-road recovery vehicle so he could do turnarounds like that in it. I am impressed in what went into that vehicle to make it the recovery vehicle it is. It perfectly matches Matt's driving abilities. I am impressed!
That first recovery was awesome. I was nervous about that turn around but as usual, Matt made it look easy. Jamie, I would have been nervous driving down that hill too but you did great! Great filming Rhett! And it was great that Robby could go with you.
Been watching these videos just a couple weeks and I'm hooked. Best thing about them is they're have a blast working and you don't hear a bunch of bleeping or 4 letter single syllable words.
You know, a perfectly placed unnecessary front dig would have made that turn around easier. Probably an unnecessary front dig, followed by a rear dig would've been sweet.
Great recoveries Matt. What is more impressive is the PSA, caring for all the good folks that follow you and want to see your Off Road Wrecker Games. That makes you a class act Sir, Thank You! You are in my prayers Hoka Hey
Some of the best content on the web. Some of the only videos that I watch beginning to end. Keep up the great work and really looking forward to the Wrecker Games.
I just love seeing the whole Fab team working together! Chad, Robby, Paul, Matt and last but not least, Merlyn! Pretty cool to see Sparks involved sometimes as well! Absolutely love the whole lot of you!!!
Excellent recoverys guys....always a great video when Matt finds other people to ride along.....all working great together !!.,. Thanks for sharing this with us

Nice job!! The double recovery in the snow was a bit tricky.. loved the turn-a-round!! Poor Jamie... I think the "ledge on the left" had her worried a bit!! LOL!!
Hey Matt! I know other shows have tips on certain off road tips, but it would be great to see stock 4 wheel drive capable trucks in some common terrain that you encounter, and what, if anything you can do to increase your ability to get through that terrain. Airing down tires, tire chains etc. With all of your experiences it would great to get that input.
As a Tacoma owner that recently drove up and a steep road in deer rep snow just like that snow…..airing down is essential!! That truck should have been able to drive out, I could be wrong but I’d put odds on airing down; I couldn’t get over the apex of the hill and once I aired down it’s as if I went from 2wd to 4
@@robert9guinn After seeing this show, I never want to be on it. And, yes, airing down is a good strategy as long as you have big knobby tires. This show alerted me to Mud Terrain Tires. I always thought All Terrain Tires with snow and mud markings were adequate. Do you have any experience with chains and airing down?
I started watching this channel in the hope of picking up a few self rescue tips, so I video like that would be pure gold for me. (But like so many others, I’ve stayed for the personalities and the scenery 😜.)
@@robert9guinn Airing down definitely helps, once the Toyota slid into the low side ditch line it kind of Fu barred him even with Morrvair pulling the front end with a low side hookup it did not want to come up out of the ditchline.
Be careful airing down. My all terrain snow tires have put me through snow deeper than my bumper at 40psi but don't have reinforced sidewalls so I wouldn't go below probably 25. Also don't stop anywhere that looks sketchy, keep up momentum. And always keep a good 10,000 tow rope handy. Never know when you might need a pull and not everybody who could help has one
Well for us old guys who would be in danger in that kind of terrain, we hope and pray that there will be plenty videos coming after the event since we have watched the world's biggest off road wrecker being put together for months, y'all enjoy friends ,we will be pulling for you 😊😊😊
Another great video, Everyone gets a job, everyone contributes to the fun!! After watching towed vehicles being dragged with front wheels pointed in varying directions, I suggest a piece of tape on the steering wheel so drivers can tell when the wheels are straight. Its an easy cheat to help when being pulled especially in mud and snow, When its difficult to tell where the towed vehicles front wheels are pointed.. your skill in snow and mud is always surprising!
The Morrvair is still amazing. Steady climbing that hill backwards when turning around. And again great teamwork. Especially for Jaimy, driving on 2wd 😆👍💪
I turned my headphones off and stopped it playing on my iPad Pro here at this timeline. 6:56 The reason why is I had to think about this. When is the last time I seen a turnaround this tight. I thought hard for several minutes, and I simply can’t think of one. I’m not saying I haven’t seen some tight turnaround’s I have. But that one is absolutely without a doubt, hands-down, the tightest turn-around I’ve ever seen in my life. And there was, at least, 2-separate times I honestly thought, and held my breath that he’s going to roll it over especially from the title where Matt says “a split second mistake!!” I mean, I was nervous. Because it really did look like on those 2-separate occasions it would roll over. BRAVO 👍 MATT! BRAVO!! 👍
Matt flip the nozzle upside down when you don't have a vent. Then u can still lock the trigger. Had to do this all the time on my mustang. It helps vent as it fills.
Jamie is sooo humble... she is one true off roader i know as a female driver ... i watch every single video of yours and i pretty much know how she drives ... and even Lizzy is getting better day by day .. and those u- turns she got to learn from matt...
So I have a Cargo trailer that has been buried in 3 ft of snow since November. And I needed to get some things out of it. So after a great deal of hand shoveling and plowing with my ATV, I thought OK, I can do this. Still in a lot of deep snow but was able to maneuver my Jeep Liberty and hook it up. Put it in 4- wheel drive, on my first jerk, all 4wheels sunk in the deep snow, STUCK! Couldn’t go forward or backwards.. Ok so went in the house told my wife. We’re going to do a Matt’s recovery😜😜. So hooked up my Durango to my LIberty, using a Kinetic rope, well it was nylon😳 told my wife, OK you gotta do a “Jamie”😳. 2 jerks and we were out!! She did great. Learned it all from Matt, Jamie and Lizzy, and the rest of the guys. Thanks.

During the main explosion of the channel. They were on their way with their disposition and appeal so hard to say what was the biggest part.
When I was shopping for my pickup some years back, one of the comments on 2WD versus 4WD was that 4WD let you get further from the paved road before you need to call the tow truck. (especially around construction sites)
This is a true statement if only telling part of the story, what most leave out is one can go just as far with 4wd vs 2wd but generally not needing to call a wrecker. experience and common sense go a long way for most things in life. 2wd=1wd 4wd=2wd without lockers with lockers one has the option of 1wd 2wd 3wd or 4wd experience and common-sense dictates when and why to use which combination.

I tried it. It got edited out, but my front wheels just sunk down about 10 inches and I didn’t move it all.
And I was in the passenger seat flaying my arms and screaming so Matt did what he had to do to get it turned around safely!
