RUclips and decoy carving has needed this type of content from a master like you! Thank you so much. I took a painting class with you in west lake a long time ago and have been a fan ever since.
these videos are a duck carvers dream... absolute gold... wish I had these a few years ago... I encourage most to purchase Toms videos on painting wildfowl species, I own a few and now I see he has added several more species... thanks Tom
I am a novice/amateur decoy carver. Thank you, Tom, for your excellent videos on duck carving. I have bookmarked all 15-16 of your tutorials on how to carve a mallard drake and preening hen. The latter has stimulated me to attempt my first preening deek. I have used many of your techniques to improve my craft. You are a patient and excellent teacher!
@@tomchristieart I don't own a band saw, so getting the proper angle to the reverse oriented head to mimic preening was a bit of challenge. I had to use my boredom tool and lots of hand sanding on the duck head's base to get a acceptable head to body fit. Hopefully, employment of you video that incorporated the use of plastic wood/acetone filler will do the trick?
Great video with lits of good info. I learned a bunch new stuff from you in this video on how to make rge while process easier, quicker , and more precise. Thank you.
Tom i purchased you Gadwall video and i am working on mine inspired by your video. I would love to send you pics on my progress do you have an e mail address i can send them to?
Another very well explained video. Thank you. Do you know Paul Foytack out of Michigan? He would come down to Jim Wilsons and we the students would have two instructors. We have no instructors that I know of in Northwest Ohio, anymore, so I am very happy to have your videos that we can watch and refer back to over and over if needed. Thank you again. @@tomchristieart Thanks Tom, that's what i have but my cuts and turns don't seem to go as smoothly as yours. I suspect its me, not the saw or blade. Your videos are fantastic! Happy 4th!
Good morning Mr Tom, I'm Brazilian and I wanted to buy eyes and models to make my ducks here. because it doesn't exist in Brazil. Could you indicate a store that can buy and ship to Brazil? Thanks!
Hi again Alvaro. I checked with the Jaymes Company where I buy a lot of my carving supplies and they do ship to Brazil. Here is a link to their web site. jaymescompany.com/
Mr Tom, good evening! I'm using glass eyes from Catholic images and covering the white parts. The cost is lower for me, because here in Brazil they are available to buy easily.
Hi Tom, I'm hooked, now binge watching the Drake Mallard series! Cheers Ed
That’s awesome Ed! Spread the word to your carving buddies. 👍🏻
