Would consider doing a video on how your writing process has evolved over the years. You've said you are more of a pantser, but you've been talking about outlining chapters. So it would be interesting to know more about how you incorporate planning with your organic writing style. Keep it up. I've decided to write more this year when I only wrote for the first two months of 2023 and nothing else. Yah! for writing more.
I'll definitely mention this! I think it's more that now that the book is written and something isn't working, I know where I start and where I'm finishing when rewriting certain chapters, and I tend to write down 2 or 3 things that need to happen in the new chapters because I need to know where I'm going. Yay for writing more!!
I seriously look forward to your vlogs like one of my favorite shows. Tandem writing works for me when I have one low pressure project to switch to when I'm stuck in my main project. That way I dont feel like I *have* up be making progress in both, but rather working in one loosens up my creativity for working in the other.
Speaking of putting pressure on yourself, I heard this mantra on next level soul yesterday, "Nothing could make me happier than I am right now." It has gone a long way in a short time for getting over worrying about all the things I think I need to do. I can't wait to read DE but absolutely NO pressure!!!😊
I just bought the save the cat! Writes a young adult novel for one of my birthday present last Friday and currently in chapter 4. I want to become a full time author and quit my current job
The storage was too full so after the computer uninstalled the old operating software there wasn't enough space to install the new (larger) one and the old one wasn't supported by apple anymore so I couldn't go backwards. And my iCloud storage was maxed out so I didn't trust a wipe and reset to have all the documents and files I needed... much was learned during that. I upgraded to a 1tb computer, about to upgrade to 1tb iCloud storage, and need to do regular hard drive backups
@@SaraLubrattI recommend using external SSDs for backups of files. I have the 2020 MacBook Pro and use the Samsung T7 Touch. They’re available at Costco and other stores. I bought a few of the 2 TB ones bc I’d dropped my external HD. 😅
Good morning/afternoon, Sara! Very interesting vlog with you trying something new, but I am sorry that your old or ex-laptop, crapped out and had to buy a new one. It was nice to see you spend time with your family at Christmas time and that they are doing good. Plus, now you can brag and say that you killed off a character in your story by removing that person. 😂 I'm also halfway through draft 2 of editing my first book. Anyway, enjoy your day and happy editing! ❤
Ugh the new MacBook Pros really are disgustingly thick but at least the second session of Invisalign is slightly less horrible than the first! Hang in there!
I also had to buy a new laptop during the holidays, so I feel your pain! I'm excited for 2024 and all my writing goals. Fingers crossed for both of us! :)
Likewise. Luckily the book I was working on autosaved so I was very relieved. Otherwise all I've lost are my internet bookmarks :( And 4 weeks away from writing, which has thrown me off, but oh well. @@SaraLubratt
I have no Apple jokes for this occasion. The closest I could get was "the Apple Store will try several times, and then several times more, until they admit to you they didn't try ...... buy Apple". 6:00 Whoa! Even by Florida standards, that resort looks kickass! Good idea to have a lighter piece to shift to. I think you told us about the romance novella you were splitting out of CBH about a year ago, and having that be a more concrete thing will surely, in turn, reflect onto the concreteness of the bigger stuff you're about to tackle. The character removal you mentioned previously is starting to make sense.
i really enjoyed watching your scenes from your vacation with your family. It's sure nice to leave home once in awhile, to appreciate what we have at home. keep going, Sara.
Another great vlog! Glad you got your computer sorted. Have you ever considered doing a video where you read a long except (like a chapter) of your current draft? I would love to hear it, and it may inspire me and others to continue in our stories. Thanks! 🎉

Aw thank you! 😊 That's so reassuring to hear, I'm so glad I finally gave myself permission to try it!
We got the same laptop model now :) Absolutely love your vlogs--you are my favourite RUclipsr at the moment! Thank you for all the content, Sara
Aw thank you!! Happy to have you here!
How did you start getting jobs on fiver. Was it easy? Thinking of doing that when I'm not working as a substitute teacher.
It was pretty easy! Did have to start with pretty low prices for reviews and then slowly raised them to what they are now!

I'm excited to get DE out there for people to read it! I like the mantra :). One of my favorites is "I am wild, I am wonderful, and I will succeed"
You inspire me to write, Everytime i watch one of your videos I feel like I cant wait to write.
Aw I'm so glad!! You got this!

I love that! It's definitely possible, keep working towards it!
Did they ever explain why the computer stopped working? Like it wasn’t that old, right?

So sorry to hear that, but we got this!
Sara I love watching your videos- but gurl idk if its just my laptop (my volume is all the way up) but i can hardly hear your videos sometimes :(
yeah sometimes they're rather quiet, I'll see what I can do for upcoming videos :) thanks for letting me know!
Good fun video. Comforting.
:)
How about iCloud+ for all your files?
My iCloud was maxed out, I am planning on upgrading to the next size today
Hey, my Mac computer just died too and I had to data transfer too! So sorry it happened!
Oh jeez! Sorry you had to go through that!

Maybe one day! Currently not brave enough to put my actual writing out there until I'm published but I'll keep it in mind!
My pc has one terabyte internal storage; it only crashed once on me. Gratefully, I had my writing was saved on an external flash drive.
Smart!
