At their best, they were majestic. Won't be the same without Charlotte and the rest. R.I.P Delain. 😢 But best wishes to all of the departed members, especially Merel and Joey in Dear Mother, and lovely Charlotte for her solo album. 🤘💜
My all-time favourite Delain song is an album track called 'On The Other Side'. I don't think they have ever played it live but I think it is a stunning, highly emotional piece of work. The other one is 'The Hurricane'. And there's an amazing live version: ruclips.net/video/k3QyOkzB9eQ/видео.html
OK, it was me who mentioned the same name of the song :)) I think you should also react to "Frozen" and "Here Come the Vultures" by Delain. Rally great songs! And what about the oldest stuff from Epica? From their debut album when Simone Simons was just a 19 year-old girl (she's now 36). I'm still in love with her young voice, though Simone said she can't listen to her own voice from that era. She has changed/improved her technique over years, but... I think her young voice was absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing. Many fans still love it. Just listen! "Cry For the Moon" from their 2003 debut album "The Phantom Agony" ruclips.net/video/e77tLfkiVn8/видео.html The video is from 2004 when they were invited to a Dutch TV show "2 Meter Sessies" after its presenter and then producer were both so impressed after hearing the album that they decided to invite Epica and do a live session. The blond woman in the video is Amanda Somerville who was Simone's vocal coach at the time (she is still a member of the choir you can hear in most Epica songs). You can see in the video she was proud of her pupil :)
Oh and during the session, they also did a cover of "Memory" from musical Cats. I'm pretty sure you know the melody: ruclips.net/video/vmtlpgq0EeU/видео.html Jesus, it almost made me cry, same as their ballad Feint. Pure beauty :]
It's Delain at their most straight ahead and "pop-ish". And still super catchy. Have you reacted to Masters of Destiny (didn't see it listed even though I thought you had?) which is probably Delain at their most epic.
Word, man. So many metal bands are too focused on aggro-posturing to just have a good time and write a fun jam. Delain's un-pretentiousness is what I'll always love about them.
Great band and Charlotte is such a great singer unfortunately they have now disbanded. I only just found them and they are no more.... just my luck but at least through RUclips I can still watch them. ❤️🤘🇦🇺
Get better soon, Ginger! Delain began as a project, like Ayreon. Maybe Charlotte will appear in an Ayreon epic soon?....... Martijn, here on the keyboards, will have something new in the works too.....
Didn't know Delain split till I started watching this video :( Pity. They're fun and more straightforward hard rock vibe to them apart from their recent work. Charlotte has been evolving as a singer all through her career with Delain. Hoping they all go onto some cool projects. Hope you feel better, Ginger. The world out there is crazy at the moment. Stay safe and stay healthy everyone.
The Dutch musiclovers are sad, Delain is no more (such a shame). But ....... there's so much more where this came from. You reacted to *THE GATHERING* about a month ago, so why not react to some more of the wonderful woman who was an example for Dutch female singers (and a BFF of Floor). For more Anneke van Giersbergen (including funny/hilarious moments) …. you should see her at a live performance in Budapest (Hungary) with a Chris Cornell cover. *Anneke van Giersbergen’s VUUR* - *_”Like a Stone”_* : ruclips.net/video/QNEYGTN_-30/видео.html Or ..... one of another great performances is *_"Waking Hour"_* (live at Doornroosje (Nijmegen, the Netherlands) TG25): ruclips.net/video/pUKBV8M_XXE/видео.html BTW. I'm aware your list is HUGE, but keep the songs above in mind.
I like your channel very much, my Danish looking friends :-) There is something kind about you both. Sigrid, you say? Hmm, I guess Dynamite acoustic version is ok. Just her and piano, live. I need to find out if you have done Kamelot, Elisabeth 1,2,3, live version unless someone can tell me? Greetings from Norway

R.I.P Delain. 😢

True. I'm sure Martijn will continue to write great songs, but without Charlotte I just don't think you can call it Delain.
Delain most epic song is Masters of destiny . This one is really good.
For me the most epic is "Here come the Vultures". Amazing music.
Charlotte Wessels - Soft Revolution, is an amazing good song!!!! 💕
