It was really cute when Oakland tried to mimic Nate's sounds when he was working out. It's so fascinating how babies and little children literally try to mimic their parents. Older children (and adults for that matter) usually try to hide it a little bit when they're mimicing someone, but babies do it so openly. 👶

New here. I think Nate did great under the circumstances. Of course Oaklan preferred mom, but give Dad some time and practice and it will get better. Every time I watch your videos with your children, I immediately think about how they are two little gifts from above. They are so smiley and don’t exactly look like either of you as of now, which only reinforces this feeling I get that they are just extra special gifts from God. There is something really special, pure, and holy about your children that I cannot articulate. Everything takes practice. I really respect parents. It is the toughest and most important job. You can never pray too much. Pray for Oak when he cries and God will help you out.

I noticed that too... Mom clearly states what she feels and thinks it's best... And it's not acknowledged by her partner. Why are parents to this day so specific with gender roles? If you're 2 adults around your baby/kid he will need all the loving and caring as if you had a full house like in the old times. Man and Woman are able to love and pay attention uninterruptedly! I saw this video on Oprah titled "One woman unlocks the secret language of babies". The lady discovered that all babies have specific cries that can mean hungry, tired, wet diaper, etc. What sounds like general crying if you don't know what to listen for is actually the baby telling you what the baby wants. It was amazing. An fyi for future babies and maybe Oakland. It may still work for him. You did a great job watching Oakland Nate. You both seem like good parents :)
May I humbly suggest that you don't get Oakland excited when you put him down. The calmer you are, the calmer he will be. Also there are CDS with baby music to help babies sleep. You did a great job. There are parents out there that don't have a clue how to be a parent. God bless.

I realized after four years that I just like watching RUclips - not being on it. (Licensed, professional photographer for seven years here) so...I realized I wanted to be back behind the camera. 😌 Such a small world you grew up in the same town! We may be heading back soon!
