That is the coolest thing i've seen Three generations need more videos of that
Now that was cool with your Grandpa and father!!!! 😎
Worth the extra minutes of videoing. Thank you.
Dougo wants to take the new tractor home and get some carpet farming done.
Three generations right there that is cool.
Awesome video Chet. When grandpa is buying, get the biggest and best there is. 😮
Enjoy the trip. 🚜🚜🚜 🙄🫣🤔🤪
Farm toys are an addiction.... At least most the 1/64 scale are adorable 😂😂
Nice to see Merlin a bit more - he is great!
Always awesome to see the generations of farmers yea I like how grandpa just says get a new one haha he after all knows best
I love seeing Grandpa on there Chet !
Chet - I don't know what you paid for that tractor but the look on Dougo's face when seeing it was priceless. 👍
Have a good trip!
Good to hear Merlin say buy a new one. He’s the boss 😅
He's the boss. I am sure he has seen his share of compressors and he just knew. If it was off camera maybe something like "you dumbo's are going be chasing your tail and spending time and parts on that thing forever, just get a new one".
Grandpa is always right.
... respect the advise of elders ... they done that ...
Three generations of Larson's hashing out air compressor woes,, Solid Gold guy's, listen to grandpa,,, farm life.. Thank You Chet for your dedication, content and Brody... 👍🚜👍,, 🏝🏝🏝🏝
Best farming content channel on all of RUclips. All the banter and explanations of how things work, plus Dougo. Thanks for all the content even through winter 👍🏻👍🏻
You need to get the planter to go on it. That do make a 24 row, 36 row, 48 and 54 row planter to
Screw compressors are quiet & very efficient. Also very expensive. They can be rebuilt & are as good as new. I've seen 20+ year old ones.
I’ve worked on some 45+ y/o screw compressors, they don’t make like those beasts anymore.
Just replaced a Piston pump to a Screw Compressor for a friend's company and they say it the best think the have done so quiet and more economy. It was cheaper to replace it that to repair the pump and motor.
Only problem with screw compressors is they need to run all the time or it builds up moisture and destroys it.
Piston style are better for intermittent use.
@@Sicktrickintuner Exactly - for their use, they do not want a screw type as it doesn't need to run that much. An industrial 2-stage 5 or 7.5HP twin-cylinder compressor made by Quincy, Champion, or Saylor-Beall. That will give them higher pressure than the single-stage that they have now.
@@Sicktrickintuner yes sir, that is correct 👍
Three generations pretty great!!!
Chet, seeing grandpa in the videos my grandpa was born in 1902 and he and grandma farmed until 1971 loved hearing about him and his dad farming in the 20’s went to work in a factory and quit after a few years went back to farming
Great to see your Granddad on your Channel. Enjoy Mexico.😊
Didn’t Wile Coyote get his Road Runner catching equipment from Acme Tools?😂
Yes he did. Rockets dynamite they had everything
@@Sc-jf3yk yah, they had the good stuff.
Chet, would absolutely love a video of you, Dougo, and Merlin discussing the farm and machinery of the past!
Great video Chet Dougo and Brody
Dougo sure perked up when talking to grandpa about the compressor! Dad''s buying!!!
The model is awesome. Someone built an exact replica model of one of Tony’s trucks & trailer. Probably the highest compliment you can get. We love our farmers!
Good to see your grandpa not ducking the camera 👍👍
Merlin is the man!!!
Chet, relax and enjoy your vacation.
Screw types are good if you know how to do the maintenance on them. But a puma and you'll never be disappointed
Be safe have fun .
love Merlin's reply when Chet said he was off to Mexico :D :D :D :D And Dougo with that tractor, like a kid getting his 1st TONKA TOY.
Screw type compressor is good for long consistent air pressure. We use one for running multiple air tools in a stone fab shop
Mr Merlin’s “WHAT?” when you said I’m going to Mexico. 😂
Have fun on your well-earned vacation, Chet!
O No Dougo shrank the tractor 😅
Hello from Siesta Key Florida
GREAT!!!!!
Great video as usual. I love to see all 3 generations at once! If you’re investing in a new compressor, look at a variable speed rotary scroll. We had two at work and boy were they nice compared to the old style reciprocating piston. Much quieter and way more efficient.
Enjoy your vacation in Mexico and be safe.
Watch your back and be safe!
Check out the Kaeser rotary compressors
Godspeed and safe travels!
Enjoy your trip
16:13 Dougo: "I've heard something about a screw type compressor?" Pretty close, Mr. Dougo... they're scroll type compressors, kinda like the scroll type superchargers they use on engines. There are several advantages of scroll type compressors vs. piston type; they're worth reading up on a bit. One huge advantage is that they are *A LOT* quieter than piston types.
Scroll compressors are very popular in the auto painting industry. They're are quiet and reliable. But they are a bit spendy.
One thing definitely worth considering: Get an automatic drain valve on your compressor. They're available at Harbor Freight, and will do a great job of preventing rust on the inside of your tank, which is especially important in humid environments.
Most common industrial air compressor type is a screw.
@@thadsmith2889 Yup, but scroll type are rapidly gaining ground. Check 'em out, they're really nice. I just bought a new air compressor for my garage, and man... I wanted to invest in a scroll type *so* bad. But the wife had other ideas... something about "filling my shoe closet." I ended up with a piston type. : /
Have a great time in Mexico 🇲🇽. Please don't name it Curt .
🤣🤣. Make sure you come over. Can't live without watching Larson. Plus I want to watch the corn plainter work flawless. 🙏🙏🙏
Good luck Brodie? Goodluck Chet!!!! Mexico is no joke for US visitors right now. Hope your safe and make it back A OK!!!!
He's been there and back lol
@@613rob lol? Mexico is no laughing matter right now.
99% of Mexico is perfectly safe
@@kwil6648 I agree,he went to Mexico like 3 weeks ago. Sneak peak coming in sundays video!
I really like your grandpa and dad trying to decide what color to buy for a air compressor. I think red white and blue
You guys definitely need a bigger compresser with a bigger tank
Copper head ag offers a good gauge wheel kit. I just finished putting it on my planter. The bean planter has had it for a few years and we like it.
The look on Dougo’s face when he saw the baby tractor…..😅 I received my “When you know….” T-Shirt today!!
Love the “new tractor”. Dougo’s reaction was priceless.
Question about those new planter closer wheels. You said they are cast.
May want to give Mae West a call and see if they can fabricate them out of UHMW. We made a lot of things for our tomato harvesters and beet diggers. Would wear much better. But I’m not sure if they need to be heavy to do the job? Just a thought!
Be safe dude, a lot of things happen there.
Love the 1/64th tractor now you need the planter to match. Also like Grandpa's idea of compressor upgrade.
Love the new tractor! 🤣👍
Be sure to check the bearings in the big transport wheels
Those cast closing wheels hate mud…we’ll at least with ours soils in northern Iowa. I had those on my planter 2 years ago and they would fill up with mud and never clean off oh and it wasn’t a “muddy” year just the damp dirt the planter turns over. They worked great when It got really dry towards the end of planting that year. Hopefully they work for you though.
Just buy a whole new compressor. then take the old one apart and hang the tank up out of the way to double your air storage capacity. I like the idea of the black one.
I was thinking the same thing but since their whole shop is plumed for air maybe all that piping volume acts as a large reservoir.
Okay I really need a Larson farms 1/64 scale tractor on my shelf, I won’t lie!!
There's proof again, boys never grow up. Even Dougo gets a smile on his face from a toy tractor. 😂
If you need a good shop compressor call Kaeser, they've got a thing for everything. 😁
have a blast kid
Screw types are the best for high air demand and yes they are quiet
ingersoll rand screw compressor buy it, never fails
Hi just found your channel seeing you unbox the tractor how about having a radio-controlled one done to replicate your tractor.
Regarding the compressor look into a Quincy screw type compressor with a built in dryer. You won’t regret it!
Glad you are making money on RUclips Chet
Look into a harvest international db style corn planter when you go to upgrade. The row units are amazing.
You need to lube those creeper wheels!!!
I think paint would be a nice caller I have a great time in Mexico
You should have a glass case of mobels of all the equipment that the farm has used. Love your videos and a great bunch of people working on the farm, where is the young lassy from your last video and what does she do on the farm?
The young Lassy is Jean Marie Golden. Her job on the farm is to keep Chet happy. She has a successful career in town as an administrator of a care center.
@@delbutler885 fucking hell lad look at Mr FBI over here
Looks like a T-shirt! Three generations deciding on a air compressor! What color will the compressor be?
For air compressors, if you want a piston type go with Quincy. And if you want a screw type go with Kaiser.
Recommended a 325 with oil filter 5 hp . Best their is will be there 30 years easy !
Screw compressors don’t like to stop and start. Intermittent is better for that as screws like to run 100% or nothing
With lower horsepower machines like they would use 5 hp +/- they can start/ stop often. VFD frequency drive machines can start and stop as often as needed with a bit of off delay programmed in.
@@thadsmith2889 no they cant...... the build up of moisture is what kills them, run all the time or none.... more start stop, less vane life you get.
screw type compressors cost more but are cheaper to run in the longterm as they are more energy efficient and quieter!
Nice. #!!! 😊😊😊
Yes screw compressors are the ultimate. Expensive and way too much air for air tools and filling up tires. Y’all use battery powered hand tools, I’d just buy a 2 stage compressor. It’s plenty for the farm. And Chet have a warming good time in Meixico
Make your own gasket!
“Nothing to do but to do it”!
If Merlyn goes to Mexico the Cartels will be on the run 🤣🤣
Hiii Slovenija👍👍👍
Brody is thinking “I hope this one is new and clean.”
Brody - When you give yourself a pat on the back, be sure to check for knives first.
Brodie! Just add water!
Love the vids keep them up love the effort put into them
Three generations of good old boys! Awfully nice, remember those days.
make our own paper gasket for that compressor, I made 4 for my old Emglo 4cyl compressor, still works perfect after 2 years
Dude you got to get that guy making those tractors for on farm focus
Huge fan here but why would he leave during planting ?
Oh yah he married a boss lady!
That's the most we've heard from Merlin! "What? You're a ..."! Take your G-Pa with you Chet.
Great vid. Mexico for rooties a! Good lad
Hey that little tractor just ad water
For as much air you need go with a screw type compressor. You will be happy.
a screw compressor is good but you wont like it you dont use enough air for it to work right
The tractor looks great in the shop! Glad you guys like it. Thanks again Chet!
If ya buy a whole new air compressor, plumb the old tank to it for extra capacity.
Dougo is maybe thinking scroll compressor.
check out Kiser air compressors they are the best in the business .
Yellow tank
Screw compressor $$$$$, ment for large volume of air and made to run 24 / 7 . Quincy makes a good product, cast iron pump with pressure feed lubrication, you need a larger tank and or your old tank in tandem for volume with the new. Chet don't drink the water!
Great job working on the corn planter Chet and Brody
I would go Mattei vane compressor
Hello from Southern Florida,
You lads need KNIPEX Pliars , Lowes , Home Depot or internet .
Can you offer an opinion on the Knee pads ? I've never seen that type before. Hmm
Great Channel and Video content.
Tony in Florida
try planting with your new tractor
Eastwood makes super quiet scroll compresser. 12.5cfm at 90psi. 100% duty cycle.
Brother has one in his shop, hardly know its running.
Team Dougo!!
air compressors? how much volume do you want? screw type = continuous flow,
