At least for me it worked by doing a manual install on a more recent driver version and thanks to that it worked and the blank panel didnt show again :]

Yeah, if you have some specific network access setting on your computer that wouldn't allow Nvidia to connect your account to it it's not gonna work obviously. Pretty sure that was the problem.
But idk which network settings Nvidia prefers since their stupid app clearly doesn't ask you about this shit when saying "Error, check your internet connection". BS.

Once logged in and connected switchback to Router connection and you must be able to download just fine

Initially I turned mobile hotspot but forgot to turn on mobile data ( I was still connected to the wifi ), after that I turned on mobile data and it worked like a charm. Thanks a lot man !!!

Just start the driver download while using vpn then pause it and switch back to your fiber connection and resume it 👍🏽
