Composer : Jesper Kyd
I tryed to control the fight because some events causes some special music but, obviously i failed at 2:40. Sorry for that i fixed it on the downloadable version.

Seeing as Death recognizes the gun Redemption that Alya tosses him as actually belonging to Strife, I can picture a game where Strife leaves his guns behind to Alya and Ulthane at his ending, and in the final game:
War: "This is yours." *tosses Mercy*
Death: *tosses Redemption* "You should stop leaving your toys all over the place, brother."
Strife: "Hmph." *catches guns*
Funny that only now we’re replying to this lol
Oh what a story. Hope you doing good now king
He would probably reply with humour.
@@loceelen Strife: "Oh thanks, I was starting to miss em"
hope you are still alive good sir! all i have for you is sheer respect even tough i have never met you! please reply if you are still with us!
"Your secrets die with you, old fool."
"My secrets, but not yours"
My Secrets, But Not Yours
Such a great, yet criminally underrated game.
+Marius Urucu Totally agreed.
+Marius Urucu very.
+Marius Urucu I wouldn't say underrated, i mean it got a lot of hype during its time.
+Marius Urucu I found about this game while playing a demo on Onlive. Other than that, I didn't knew it even existed.
What I like about this game is that it blends elements from other games that I really like (Prince of Persia, Devil May Cry and some Legend of Zelda thrown into the mix).
I have played the original Darksiders too after the second one and while it was a really good game, I think the sequel trumps it on almost everything. I genuinely think this game deserve the same praise as say the Witcher 3, Fallout 4 or other open world sandboxes get (which I find these games kind of dull, to be honest).
I hope Nordic Games will make Darksiders 3 see the light of day.
Lovin the Nero pic ; )
"You cannot pass while I live."
"So be it."
Gerard Sanchez
"here your brethren are trapped in eternal torment. do you wish to join them? and what of war? would you kill your brother to save your precious balance?"
"he is innocent!"
"are you so certain?"
"Your secrets die with you...Old fool.."
Gerard Sanchez "my secrets...but not yours..."
+Gerard Sanchez Definitely Death's most memorable line.
i love how they portrayed death correctly here. he's not some murderous villain. he is willing to let people go if they deal with him civilly, and has this deep code of honour.
because the grim reaper is not about murdering people, about taking people on their death bed to the afterlife.
This song is like something that would be played during the battle that decides the fate of the universe. That's how epic this is.
this even would fit in a mass effect game
the last boss soundtrack sucked
@Conrad Kujur but it suites this one the most
This sounds like that time I beat my son Horus up and “died”
You are absolutely right!🤣 This is true masterpiece
Now this was one heck of a way to start a game!
Compare this to 3... I don't know whether to laugh or cry
@@bryantmanson4097 lol. Third one didn't feel like darksiders at all.
@@bryantmanson4097 I enjoyed it for what it is, enough so to platinum it. The gameplay was really fun, I grew to like Fury, enemies were varied and challenging, the design of the world and levels (apart from that fucking tornado) was great and the overall steeper diffuculty suits the feel of the series very well imho. That's where the positives ends though - not many good boss fights with the optional ones being just rehashed mobs, it's fairly short and where 2 uped and improved almost everything, what really was the reason to be only on earth again, no horse and the souls mechanics nobody asked for (and I'm pretty sure nobody wanted)? The worst offender is the story though, I got used to the rest, I would even handle the fact it was much shorter than the second game, but what the fuck was that "story"?! You can pretty much sum it up in one sentence... Yeah and the DLCs suck.
So in the end I don't even know why exactly I wrote this, probably to further ventilate my dissapointment, because I totally agree with your statement.
Right this battle was way to epic for a start of a game.
Darksiders 3 is fabulous as well, many don't understand it though
When you get out of the shower naked and endure the harsh cold 'till you reach some clothes.
Solud Snaik loooooooooooollllllllll this is the funniest comment so far
Lolololol
Lol
That's me everyday( ͡◉ ͜ʖ ͡◉)
lol
Its funny though, how Darksiders 2 have the most epic records.
Yeah! Whats also funny is that none of this epicness is in the OST
Jesper Kyd is the reason
The era of the PS3 is over now. I own well over 40 games for it. Including most of the "revolutionary" ones. And while many other games will remain in my memory for many other reasons: I have to thank the creators of DarkSiders 2 for the Death Vs War fight, for it is, hands down, my most memorable "epic"-moment out of all the PS3 experiences I've had. Nothing even comes close to surpassing it. This soundtrack has a lot to do with the epic-ness of that encounter.
I felt like... A god - the first time I crossed swords with War. It was amazing on a level I have never experienced before (And this after 17 years of being a gamer). I remember that moment when War is walking towards you, slowly, but with determination, for that was the moment I realized I could actually control Death. I was sent into a borderline frenzy. Fairly sure there was a lot of "OH SHIT! OH SHIT! NO WAY! NO FUCKING WAY!" said somewhere along the duration of that frenzy.
I can still recall thinking somewhere in the middle of that battle; "When people talk about LEGENDS - THIS is what they're talking about." I know that "legendary" is a word used far to freely in the gaming world today, but this, this was truly, in every way - legendary. I almost wish that it would have been the last encounter in the game.
Only way it could have been any better then what it was is if the War we fought, was the real one. I know it wouldn't make much sense, regardless how one twists or turns it, but the concept of two godlike Nephilim clashing to this theme... And us being one of said godlike Nephilim... It's... There are no words. Just no words. None.
Although, to be honest, I don't think it would be hard to make War fight Death. Recall him saying "It's not Death you should fear!" in DS1? Sibling Rivalry - build off of that.
Let
Letalis V.O i agree entirely. but my only problem with the fight is that it's pretty damn easy. i mean yea, it's the first boss of the game, but seriously, it would have made the fight tense as all hell if they ramped up the difficulty just a little bit, like at least make war's attacks actually do a good amount of damage
Oh my God, gay.
+Gortys Core Well, good job having the confidence to come out of the closet buddy :)
STFU Darksiders 2 (more commonly known now as Darksiders II The Deathinitive Edition) is a perfect masterpiece. The story is a true epic forged by the almighty gods known as Vigil Games. Anyone who disagrees I pray to Jesus so he can guide their hearts to the right way. I hope you have learned your lesson of how great of a game this is. I'll even let my children play this so that they may know what perfection is.
Stupid Haters don't know what a good game is smh.............. go play Nioh or Dark souls or some shit game and don't talk anymore..
Just got the game, and when War came through the door and the music started...The most epic feeling ever
Jesper Kyd did some of the best game soundtracks ever (Hitman, Assassin's Creed, Darksiders, Borderlands)
Sol Di don't agree on hitman or assassin's creed
He did borderlands???
@@shubhamgupta4919 borderlands 2 for sure
Ezios family
You know a game is amazing when the FIRST boss has this music. Beyond epic/
Death: your secrets die with you....old fool...
Crowfather: my secrets....but not yours
Such an underrated game
This game is epic rest in peace THQ
Darksiders 3 HYPE THO!!
@luckan99 oh fuck yes, when i saw that offical trailer. i nearly jizzed myself. i have been waiting patiently for it, and Nordic did not fail me.
and its from most of the old devs. double fuck yeah. hope we can sprint now, movement was clunky and slow as hell in the games
yet DS3 coming :')
dont lose hope... DS3 coming and we still have one rider left ... :')
THQ IS ALIVE IS ALIVEEEE
You know typically sequels for a game turn out sub par in my opinion because the creators continue with the style of game, story, etc. but don't do much of anything that makes it stand out. Darksiders 2 I deeply loved because it took darksiders the original and brought it to another level which was fantastic. Everything from scenery, boss fights, cut scenes, and soundtracks "guardian theme ftw" was perfect, again imo.
Seems like they want each game to follow a genre. DS1 was your classic hack-n-slash with some Zelda-esque puzzles, but tanky character like Kratos, DS2 went full-on RPG with stats and skilltrees, and DS3 went Dark Souls with some Bayonetta-like combat, and Genesis is Diablo but better xD I feel like more franchises need to experiment with styles each iteration, makes it harder to compare the entries as they will be different.
best first bosses in games
the Twilight Thorn in Kingdom Hearts 2
Fortitudo from Bayonetta
Ray in Metal Gear Rising Revengeance
and "War" in Darksiders 2
***** I don't really count the Ice Giant as a major boss
it's more like a tougher
I really liked Jov Leonov from Psi Ops too... :)
***** Metal Gear Ray
that slick aquatic looking t-rex
AKA. the first boss of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
shelby4369 Damn, I was hoping for best bosses of all time in games. Cause I was about to say Savior from Devil May Cry 4 was pretty kickass, and even better was Dragonslayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough in Dark Souls. Also, The Guardian in Darksiders II was cool.
a Mindfish the Guardian is my favorite boss in the entire game.
I was mainly referring to the first bosses that suck you *right* into the game
This. This is how you do a tutorial level. One of the best video game openings ever! The music, the location, the conclusion, it's just perfect.
This should be the epic theme song for every movie and cartoon/animation final fight, battle.
Imagine this playing when Arthas & Illidan fought each other in World Of Warcraft.
Sinrai Paleodemon
XD, indeed, that would be pure awesomeness.
Darksiders X World Of Warcraft
Sinrai Paleodemon
XD
Arthas & Illidan vs War & Death.
Always here, forever.
AH MAN, I SHOULD'VE GUESSED IT WAS JESPER KYD
Know him from the Assassin's Creed chase themes. Oh man, what it would be to be able to compose like him
The best, most amazing part about this song was that when I first played Darksiders II, the music felt controlled by me. It wasn't a static background track, it felt as if every blow I struck made the music respond, they were both intertwined so tightly. Magical, never happened to me in a game ever.
Same here, every blow i dealt to War I could feel it through the sound of the music
What a ballsy way to introduce your new protagonist by having him beat the shit out of the old one. Reminds me of Prototyp 2.
Guys I feel like I really need to mention how mind bogglingly fucking EPIC THIS SONG IS.
SHIT.
Obviously, 18 people want to face the wrath of the Horseman themselves.
GUYS DARKSIDERS 3 AS BEEN CONFIRMED YOU GUYS!
+AV Steve WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!
+AV Steve WHAT
+CircaSriYak The defenative edition was just them warming up to darksiders 3
+CircaSriYak Nordric studios is trying to establish itself, so far it has the legend of kay and darksiders as franchises.
+AV Steve Can you link some proof confirming this? All I've seen so far are rumors and "May be" making DS3. If you can show me where the devs confirm it, I'd appreciate it ty :).
This song is a masterpiece! There aren´t that many songs that give me goosbumps. But this song? Wow I´m shaking
"Would you kill your own brother to save your precious balance"
War, wait for me.......i will come for you.
This is the definition of the word epic
"There is no shame to going back"
"There is no point either"
This journey is so far
this game is amazing great combat soundtrack from Walhalla, it looks great sad what happend to the devs but their legecy will live on in darksiders 1 and 2
The Darksiders franchise has been purchased by Nordic Games they will make the next sequels :)
666MaRius9991 No, they won't. They own the Darksiders IP, but the studio that made the game split up and the devs are all scattered now. If a new one is made now, it would be totally different.
Is it better than lords of shadow 1 and 2, I found them to be the greatest games this gen has seen...
julbot1 they're trying to contact the original devs and from what i've heard 1 of them already said he would be glad to work with them, althought i dont know how things are going with the one that now works in crytek, but i guess he will accept too since is the opportunity to make another game from a franchise they lost due to circustances, and one loved by its fans, who are praying for more darksiders XD. And they're talking with the fans in order to make the best darksiders possible. Its true that we won't be seeing darksiders around for some years, but if it is in order to make a great game and being able to continue the series without loosing its charm and quality, i'm fine with nordic taking some years to get used to the series.
This theme give me chills everytime
Honestly I think this is best song in the game! It brings such a sense of tension and makes me feel like an epic battle is about to unfold. Truly spectacular!
This song set my expectations for the rest of the soundtrack so high
A videoludic masterpiece, a game made by gamers for gamers, the passion was the purpose and the profit was not considered.
When I first play this game the music was just "mwah" just perfect!
Darksiders2 my first game
Nostalgia 100% :"v
This games is MASTERPIECE, story, music is awesome. I can't wait Darksiders 3 !!
I hope we play as strife
The fact that this dude was able to record the in game version makes this feel much more authentic. Feels like I'm fighting War right now.
I bloody love this game, one of my absolute favourites. Any slight reminder of it fills me with nostalgia for a better time in life.
I didn't see it that way.I had a lot of fun with this game.Death's character was great, the gameplay was solid(combat, platforming, even the puzzles)and the story was extremely interesting. Not to mention the bossfights....I mean, the fight with War is probably the most epic fight i ever had in a video game.Don't forget that this is a hack n slash game with rpg elements.I think it's the best game in it's genre and it offers a lot of variety for it's kind.
OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH the stirring in the back of the neck when it starts...
My childhood memories
@18K Doo Doo fart
Darksiders deserves a movie series
YOU KNOW A GAMES GOOD WHEN THEY START YOU OFF WITH SOME FINAL BOSS MUSIC ON THE FIRST BOSS
Jesper Kyd had no right to make every track of one game slap SO HARD!
"My brother War... I'd protect him above all."
The exact moment when war and death cross weapons at that moment made the game for me
The most epic song
the most brutal fatality (x.x)
It sounds like "Captain America: Civil War"...
+Matías Jara This is exactly what I thought omg
If anything, Civil War sounds like *this*.
This fight shows us that Death is the most powerful horseman for a reason.
When I was fighting War and this music was playing, I got goosebumps!
R.I.P Vigil, you gave me hope with Darksiders... and now you are gone...
fighting war was pretty rough emotionally for me when I play this
He wasn't the real War

This sounds like The Dark Knight Trilogy soundtrack, and it's awesome.
When Darksiders 3 is finally confirmed and you're hyped af
This comment aged like milk lol
*"And what of War? Would you kill your brother to protect your precious balance!?"*
*"He Is Innocent!"*
*"Are you so certain?"*
one of the top ten boss themes of all time, and its not even the final boss

darksiders 2 is the first modern day game that ever left an impact on me and its my fave modern day game for the 360
it would be pretty amazing for a composer to make even a single epic song like this, but Jesper Kyd just for this game made like ... 5? 6? Insane
oh man my tearyness.... i love you darksiders
Best video game song ever
WHAT A FUCKING IRONY. i came here only to find out that the composer is non other than Jesper Kyd... What a BADASS
I hope Darksiders 3 come out in next few years :D
"He is innocent!"
"Are you so certain?"
Hate that no other track is as epic in the game tbh ... Like they could've used this at the end but used it so early, had me thinking there's more to come
The guardians theme is way better
This game is very underrated, yet better than most so-called "AAA" titles out there
Moments like this are what makes me love 2 over 1. Both are great games but 2 gave me so many goosebumps.
Who else walked slowly circling war because this soundtrack was awesome
I want Darksiders 3 and 4, and then something like Darksiders 5, including co-operation for 4 people, each with one of the Horsemen. Just imagine. It would be pure epicness. :)
This game on PC looks fucking phenomenal.
"Open the portal !"

Best song I ever heard.
Nordic games bought the license from The creators and they also have established the vigil branch its just a matter of time (3-4) years after we get the next darksiders game.
hopefully they can make a game as good as this one
"There's no shame in turning back."
"No point either".
That's very true.
Let's hope future generations can still appreciate them
i had to youtube this song after hearing it in game. it's just EPIC. i hope they can make more games with music like this.
When I first heard this music I just thought "Wow this boss must be hard." I was wrong, but this music was still awesome.
Do you even know who war is
War defeated Death.
"Wars begin as you will, but do not end as you please." Niccolo Machiavelli
A message to the Angel of Death.
this song fucking sends chills up and down my spine, while at the same time just ramps me up to fight the crow father.
Thanks a lot for this! So freaking epic! I've to rematch War soon, I love it.
This game is very underrated. I just love it
Think of how awkward fighting and video games would be without music. War just awkwardly slow walking in as they do loud ass grunts and destruction xD
Best music, best bossfight.
Fixed the download link.
I wanna paly Darksiders 2 right now.... Thanks for uploading this.
So be it.
- Death
I love the darksiders games. I'm so glad they're making a 3rd one.
"Death comes for all"
Probably my favorite song in this game.
Horus vs the Emperor
Hans Zimmer and Jesper Kyd, the best things ever happened to movies and games...
