The advice in the video about batteries doesn't match what it says on the instructions included in the kit. The kit instructions says remove the batteries before placing in the beaker. But the in the video she says there is no need. Which is right?
Hi Chris, thank you for the comment and question. It isn't a problem to leave the batteries in and is easier from a practical perspective (helps avoid losing them and fiddling about). The reason the kit instructions say to take them out is just to allow for more drying out around the battery drawer compartment. The receiver end is actually the most vulnerable to moisture, so while taking the batteries out is preferable if you're able to, the additional benefit is negligible.
