Hi, thanks for this video. I made the mistake of using floc on regular filter setting for 3 hours. I'm worried if I messed up the system. any suggestions?
Oh man awesome! Gosh that makes me feel good. If there is ever anything you need to know just shoot me an email at vanelicker@gmail.com Thank you so much for the awesome comment and feedback. I hope you have a great weekend 😁👍
I wish i had seen this first! Would have saved me sooo much time.. it’s week 2 of opening season. And week one i waisted a lot of chemicals for nothing. Now Im currently raising my PH it will be where i need it to be in another hour, and i can start my floc process
Good video. I forgot to put my pump on recirculate instead of on filter. Only thing I would change is my directions say not to put it directly in the skimmer but instead to walk around the pool and spread it.
Yeah, it’s my middle name and my brother that lives down south gave it to me a good while back. I actually contacted the dealership a couple years ago and asked for some more merch. I didn’t get any merch, I’ll just say that lol. Thanks for commenting. I hope you have a great week! 😁👍
It works miracles.. No doubt... Its not always this easy... Sometimes its stubborn when the flock doesn't work Thanks for dropping a comment and for watching
I added this chemical yesterday evening I see that stuff has come visible to the top but hasn’t dropped to the bottom yet is that normal and should I go ahead and start skimming the stuff at the top now or wait till I vacuum
Some Flocs allow you to add them to the perimeter of the pool - with the PUMP Off - if YOU don't have a recirculation setting. BUT, you DEFINITELY NEED to be able to vacuum-to-waste.
I used floc last night, and it has been over 18 hours that I have not been running the pump. The water is mostly a cloudy blue with pockets of whitish scum on the surface. I still cannot see the bottom of the pool and cannot tell if there is anything on the bottom to vacuum. What do you suggest? Thanks!
@@ILykePIAfter waiting 48 hours for the flocc to work we used a manual skim net to clear off the top of the pool then manually vacuumed the bottom with the filter set to "drain" (we don't have a "waste" setting)
@@MarieHurley-xb8xy Since the kids were impatient to swim (we all were), I ended up skimming the top and vacuuming the bottom to waste. Clever use of the drain feature!
My dad said i gotta clean the pool asap Got the same product 28FL at walmart for $11, different brand, but about to use it for the first time Hope it works🤞🏽 if not, im in trouble⚰️
@VansWorld lool It did!! I did it while he was at work, so now it looks like a miracle😎✨️ Ours was so severe from the tropical storms (from Hurricane helene) I had to wait a total of almost 1 1/2 days to vacuum🌊
No... The pool had 25 pounds of shock added to it before I flocked it... Flocking is like a magnet and the cloudiness attracts its self to it to form clumps. Its weird how it works... All pool clarifier works like flock.. A clarifier will attract the tiny particles that keeps the pool from being crystal clear.. Great question.. Thanks for asking.. Sorry my answer was so long
Argie dan shock you can buy at any pool or generic retailer. That, you’ll dump into a bucket of water, stir real good so it all dissolves, then add it to the pool around the perimeter.
We have a 33,000 gallon pool and it’s super cloudy and we are having the Worst time getting it clear. It really blue but so o cloudy! We used flocculant two times already and it didn’t do anything! Not even the things that came floating on the top of your pool right after you put it in. We used a 32oz bottle on our pool. Did we not use enough? We’re so stressing out this year!
Yeah you used plenty. If it was me, here is what I’d do. First, when is the last time your sand was changed? If it’s been more than 3 years, id change the sand. Then I would run my filter 24/7 and brush the walls and bottom every day till it clears up. Keep an eye on the ph. If the PH gets too high then it will turn the water cloudy almost instantly. Like a 7.9 ph or higher will have the water starting to turn cloudy. If your using test strips, stop and get a liquid test kit. It’s way more accurate. Plus the digital PH meter I used in some of my videos is a time saver. Super accurate. And fast. They don’t cost much. Like around $20 on Amazon. There should be. Link in the video description for the ph meter I reviewed. And just for piece of mind, take a fresh sample of pool water to your local pool store and have them check it. I hope this helps. Got any more questions please feel free to ask.
hello, we flock our pool last night as your instructions. This morning is still cloudy with nothing sinking to the bottom. do we add more flock, start over?
My biggest advice is take a water sample to your local pool store. That’s what I do. I am lucky we have 2 great pool stores in my town that doesn’t try to sell stuff I don’t need. And they teach me a lot by asking questions.
Vans World Thanks for the reply. Ive added more floc and water is still that cloudy blue. I to have a couple of pool shops I get my water tested at and both say the water is in great shape so Im lost at what to do other than keep filtering and backwashing and see if it clears up.
@@TheJimmyjam1958 I'm not a pool expert just a frustrated pool owner with a similar problem as you. The floc worked for us but you have to turn off your filter for at least 48 hours to let it work (you know it's working if the dead stuff rises up and floats on the surface then eventually drops to the floor). You also don't want that crap going back through your filter so you need to manually vacuum to "waste" (on our filter we had to use the "drain" setting), had to add back water to the pool to replace what went down the driveway, re-started the pump and ran it continuously and then added 5 gallons of shock on 1st night, and another 5 gallons shock on 2nd night, then finally the pool looked clear again and we could resume normal operations.
Use the into the swim brand super floc. They wirk magic on my pool after applying run the pump for 2 hours and then turn it off. Dont run your pump for 16-24 hours.
My pool is cloudy because of thin dust... when it's stopped between days, the thin dust can be seen in some parts of the bottom and (appart from that) the water is clear, but once the pump starts filtering, the dust comes to the surface as gets mixed with all the watter, which ten becomes cloudy. I did everything and it simply doesn't disappear: corrected ph and alcalinity, put flocculant, filtered the pool for more than 24 hours, etc, but it simply doesn't go away. It's also impossible to vaccum: it's very thin, so everytime the motion of the vacum has the same effect (thin dust ascends and is mixed with all the water). Help! How can I fix this? Many tks!
Sometimes you will have to run your filter for days. Weeks even to get it all out. I don’t have a pool at my new home. But we are planning on getting one in the near future. When we do I am going to invest in a solar pool filter pump and let it run 24/7
Good common sense video....... HOWEVER -----The pool water when he took the PH level versus the state of the pool water when he added the Floc looks very suspect to me.........

Good morning, ai have an above ground pool. I need to flock the pool. Do I pour the Troubleshooting into the skimmer or directly into the pool?
WOW!
Amazing what chemicals can do lol.. I am always amazed at the results.. Thanks for watching and for commenting
When u say recirculate? Do you mean normal filtration? My pump has filter, backwash, rinse I don't I have a recirculation position
What if you have a pump that doesn’t have a recirculate option. Usually those are only on sand filters
Take cartridge filter out
Thank you
@@braianmongarro3801 Yeap you are correct. I do this everytime I do a green to clean.
I have a De tentacle filter I don’t have an option so change settings, can I add it directly into my water?
I wouldn’t. You really need to be able to vacuum this to waste and not the filter. It will ruin your filter 👍😁

Similar issue here, except I can see the bottom through the floating debris. Not sure whether to skim it and vacuum or wait longer.

Will floc remove Brown stubborn stain that is not brushing as well as the particles and cloudy water?

Leave the pump off till everything settles. If it doesn’t settle then you’ve got other issues. Might want to take a sample to the pool store. 😁👍
My son put floc in the skimmer but left the pump on Filter, not Recirculate 😱 what do I do???
I did that before by accident. I kept backwashing it. Then I eventually changed the sand.
Vans World thx!
If I flocked my pool on filter for two hrs. N not recirc is it ok
Your filter or sand will probably need to be changed out.
My water is cloudy from dead algae. I added the floc (same brand you use) and in 10 hours I see no difference. Any thoughts? Thanks

I have a DE filter but I have a switch to change the direction of the water flow

You need to vacuum to waste so the water and debris you are vacuuming doesn’t return to the pool.
Missing the last step of vacuuming on waste?
