That's not how we do it in India, for every wedding all arrangements are made for all the invitations which include staying and all food charges. That is also the reason why weddings in India require a lot of money and people especially parents save long-term money. This is the way Indians treat their guests for the occasion and we very much respect all the attendees and plan a wedding so that no one is frustrated and everyone can enjoy.
But there's always that uncle who is frustrated 🥴

Here's how destination wedding works here.
We invitees only need to pay for the travel and gifts.
The gift part usually never works for middle class peeps like us, cos if they can afford to spend millions on the wedding, what could we possibly gift that suits their stature?
Usually the friends understand cos we've spent so much to be there. The rich ones of course gift whatever they can.
The reason we all drool over such weddings is because we get to stay at fancy hotels for free 😅
The expense is generally borne by the families of the bridge-groom.
My friends got married in Goa and Gujarat. This was my excuse to travel and tour around the destinations by saving the lodge fee :D
Sometimes, the families arrange tours and stuff too. So it's a win-win for us and a painful memory for the parents paying for it.
Welp had my family relative destination wedding and viola free stay in Taj 5 days straight Mumbai

Wow. Remind me to get more rich Indian friends. In the west, the guests have to pay for all the travel and hotels and what not. Usually the bride and groom will work out a cheaper rate for the hotels and stuff but you’re still spending a lot of money as a guest.
Another way people save on destination weddings is throw a party locally for your neighbours, not so close relatives, etc.
And the destination part can be done with close friends and relatives.
And usually when gifting at your friend's wedding all the friends gift the bride-groom something good and that amount then could be split.
When it comes to gifting something to a relative, we(as in my family) usually goes with cash.
@@Achara only travel can be expensive if you're flying for destination weddings from Australia to Bali and Koh Samui with pit stops in India to get clothes and jewellery we (read the missus) were to wear at the weddings. Pros and cons when she has British (Indian) cousins.
@@Achara welp had Taj hotel 5 day stay for free for one of our relatives wedding, all the travel expenses and style riches was equalized by that.
21:42 yes it's normal for Hindu wedding ceremony taking all night pretty normal for Hindus in northern parts of India. Southern part of Indian Hindus usually do wedding ceremony in day time but that's not mandatory for all. FYI reception day (which groom's family organise) is also seperate from wedding day party.
It's a nice thing to address because people presume that every Indian wedding is a big and fat bollywood-esque destination wedding complete with dancing and drinking. Mostly North-Indian(and in that too Rich Punjabi) weddings are like those. So even for most Indians it's a dream come true to get an invite for a destination wedding because otherwise banquet halls or gardens are booked and there is no dancing and alcohol, its just a meet and greet with delicious food tho :)

The weddings that i have gone to, the person, who's son/daughter is getting married, books us the hotel and the food is on them. The things we spent money on are - our clothes(because there are multiple ceremonies prior to the wedding), the gifts(outfits for the bride&groom, money).
"Same to same" That one phrase we all used very well for everything during our childhood.
This wedding was almost a three day event,so I'm sure they have probably enjoyed for the most part.
Never ever had I thought THE OG MUCH LOVED DUO JABY AND ACHARA 's reactions will be so rare to see in jabys own channel. Like don't get me wrong ,we love the regular guests but this is your guys channel, which you built from ground up , your guys reactions are just unparalleled against others. Please jabs and Achara we need more from you guys reacting to content .

Actually going to wedding does put a dent of expenses but it's because of dresses, parlour and salon visits and travelling expenses 😂😂
(But even that's a lot 🙄 .. If you are going to new place you will plan to roam around, sight seeing or shopping)
About accomodation and food , guests don't need to worry about..
Sometimes hosts would arrange for travels as well for some people..
In fact even if it's not destination wedding it's still vacation for many guests as all the guests can't be local..relatives live in different different cities, many a times it's conducted in hometowns or native places..

@CineDesi In desi weddings we don't have to pay for anything other than our outfits and gifts that we wish to give. Also there is no fixed listed as to what you need to gift. You can give gift or cash as per your wish. There is no compulsion of any kind. Even for any destination wedding we don't pay for anything other than the dresses.
In case you are an extremely close relative or friend of the bride groom.. The dress is sometimes paid for.
Therefore it's a free vacation.
In certain cases the family exchanges gifts and if you are a close relative or friend, you too get a gift.
Indian weddings are fun and THE GUESTS DO NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR ANYTHING, OTHER THAN THE GIFTS.
P. S. Our weddings strech from 6-12 days both before and after wedding ceremonies depending on the regions of India. On average it is 8 days..
