Thank you sister for saying that, because I feel the same way, Claudia Jordan did her homework and Vivica Fox, she kept calling Eboni K Williams that young lady in the only reason she did that is because she didn't do her homework, viveka just watched the sound bite and ran with it which I am so disappointed with her! Vivica should have taken the time to look at the videos to see and hear where Eboni K Williams was coming from! Not only that this woman is highly intelligent and for her to talk down to her was ridiculous because Eboni can eat her up and spit her out! SMH
Oh yes. Claudia kept it real. Those other ladies would not date any blue collar worker. Iyanla said she would date a bus drive or blue collar worker, but she will have her stash on the side and a prenup. How come NO one is talking about that and attacking her. Oh let's attack the pretty girl. smdh
This is totally different from having a husband for 25 years who was a bus driver when they first met. A 40 year old is not looking to build as much as a 20 year old.
@Dara Dee that is key. I was married at 20 and my husband and I built together. 30 years later, we are a very successful couple, and we have a very successful family. On another note... men don't typically say they need a woman who's super successful. Men will marry the girl that works in the grocery store if she checks his boxes lol
But the flip side is that the guy who is already built doesn't have to settle for a 40 year old woman. She has every right to be shallow, but the men on that end tend to be shallow as well.
Claudia thank you for being consistently honest about difficult subjects. BW have been described as undesirable if we have kids, overweight, too old, not pretty enough, agreeable enough, feminine enough… and there was zero grace in the delivery from men. But Eboni should have been more GENTLE in her delivery regarding her preferences to them?? Unbelievable.
That s*** is crazy right? On White RUclips and white Twitter, you not going to see these type of conversations and if you do you can best believe that white man is on there saying you damn right I want my daughter dating her equal! They understand that when you are raising your children, you should be raising him to be their best not to settle and if their best is being regular, then that's okay that's all Eboni K Williams was saying but she know I'll full potential she know that this white Society has embedded into a lot of African-American people that they can only do mediocre jobs and that's not true because we are a brilliant people that is capable of doing in heaven whatever we want, however some of us need to stop being lazy about it especially in today's society because there's so many opportunities and so many ways to make money to elevate ourselves! So don't get mad at Eboni K Williams or any woman that's out there trying to do good and want better for herself!
When you say who you won't date, who you have dated comes into question when you're in the public eye. How she equated a bus driver with excellence is probably a good reason why she's not a lawyer anymore 😅😅
Claudia was right...only in our community can a woman who is an attorney be criticized for wanting an equally yoked partner. If she weren't black no one would've blinked an eye.
Tell me another community that would have one of their own trash it like she did? We are the only ones that have our own "skinfolk" publicly bash us and people defend it. The backlash to her second response wasn't because of her preference in a partner, it was bringing up the Black community as a whole in a personal conversation.
If Ebony has reached a certain level and is bringing 7+ figures to the table, why would she want to be legally and financially tied to a man only bringing 5? Two elephants in the room we haven’t discussed: 1.The black community has a really difficult time with classism. If we were talking about a millionaire actress not dating a bus driver no one would bat an eye, but an affluent black professional not wanting to date a bus driver is scoffed at for being “elitist”. 2. The fragile ass male ego that wouldn’t be able to handle a woman making that much more than him because her success is “emasculating” him, meaning she has too much money to be controlled.
Nothing fragile about it. She has every right to want what she wants. But the guy she wants has equally high and shallow standards and he likely doesn't care about her money. The same way that she gets to disqualify a bus driver, she will get disqualified for being forty or four being disagreeable. Everybody gets to set their standards
*I’m glad that social media allows women to express and expose their true nature. Women like her want the bus company owner. She doesn’t have a shot with the bus company owner because he’s prefers her niece at the college campus or someone much younger and attractive than her!*
I know this is off topic but pertaining to Lisa, I swear that is one woman who looks different every time I see her. 🤔 I would not know her if I were to see her face in a magazine.
You have a point. I don't see them dating any blue collar worker. Not saying they should or not. Date who you want. Let's be honest here. When Iyanla said she would date a Bus Driver. No one seem to catch when she said. I would date one. I would have my stash on the side and a prenup. How come no one is attacking her. Oh let's attack the pretty one. smdh
The question itself was insulting to bus drivers!! Not her answer. At 40 years old she believes the type of man she would be more compatible with is someone with-his own business. The extreme outrage towards her in the interview and online seems forced and performative. Claudia love your points!
I agree with Eboni. They not about to bully my girl into dating someone she don’t want to date. People are really mad over someone’s dating preference. We have more serious things to be upset about
Bullshit, she talk all this for the black race shit, but engaged to a white man 👨, she can date who she wants, but she has this mentality of looking down on people who are actually getting off there ass doing something positive in society other than killing and robbing people
We have been the back bone of the black family so long that we are not even allowed to want men to meet our level of success? Men do not compromise and we have been compromising so long we are cast as mother, father, sister, brother and are not allowed to want to enhance our generational wealth? Vivica, I get that you have to be politically correct as a celeb but would you take that same stance if you were just a rich sistah with certain preferences? Perhaps not but I get why yall have to be concerned with demographics. Perhaps yall should interview regular, successful women and hear their feedback. Nobody should question your preferences either but yall are in a different category and the wrong respomse can be flipped into a lawsuit. I get it. Love this show!
Claudia, I'm SO glad you stood up for Ebony K. Some black community members are tearing her apart because they choose what they want to understand from her comments. Ebony does not have to rephrase or correct what she said; she has the right to decide what kind of partner she wants to date. There is nothing wrong with choosing a partner who has financial security. Ebony is not necessarily focusing on the bus driver occupation. She is driving the focus toward entrepreneurship/ownership to create generational wealth. Despite our history and present-day existence in this country, no government policies or super-hero is coming to save the black community. Therefore, we must improve our education, wealth, intellectual capacity, and skills. We have to save ourselves, and the best way to do that is through OWNERSHIP. This is Ebony K. William's message. Let's show her some love and support.
Story time: 2 different men, both financially less at the time. Struggled with one until he became a doctor and when he got there, I was suddenly not the same “tribe” as him, he married someone from his African tribe and left me. The other was making $12 an hour as a receptionist in a hotel. I was a director, I almost died with his insecurities- I could not do enough or reduce myself enough, the more I did, the more I was hated with a deep passion. Be careful out there! These are not your grandfathers generation.
This is y I tell people 2 focus on who is compatible 4 them. Some women believe helping 2 build a man will make him appreciate them 4 being there. That doesn't happen most times. I'm speaking as a man being a provider. I don't do the 50/50 pay thing. That's weird 4 me, but normal 4 some. A man needs 2 make his own way. He will resent u n the long run bc it's hung over his head (n his mind) that u made him. When he finds the women he wants 2 provide 4, he's going 2 leave bc he sees u different...more like a helpmate than his life mate. It's real. I believe n setting ur standard & telling no1 about it. Let people show u who they r & make a decision 4 urself if u guys r compatible. If ur relationship is working, no1 needs 2 know about it. People put stuff n people's ear & head that doesn't relate 2 their situation. There's no 1 size fits all situation. U r right, this is not our grandparents generation. Times & roles have changed dramatically.
Black men come for black women’s looks everyday and no one cares to stand up for us but we can not state our preference. Ebony meant every word and I’m here for it!
@@davedave3236 No one ever said the bus driver was a black man. Assumptions were made, that has nothing to do with Eboni. Why can’t she have a preference? I’m pretty sure you have some. Move on. Have a great rest of the week.
Yes she spoke for herself. She didn't say ladies don't date a blue collar worker. Iyanla she would date a bus driver. She will have her stash on the side and a prenup.. Why no one is talking about that? Oh... Let only attack the pretty girl. smdh
Too many people are in their feelings. Eboni said nothing wrong. She made excellent points on the Breakfast Club. Many women in my generation got caught financially carrying men to our detriment. My daughter is on a path to be a very high earner, and I have already advised her to choose a man close to her earning potential. I don’t want her to be stressed out and unhappy coddling an insecure man.
The men who are angry about her comment know good & well they wouldn’t advise their daughter to marry a man below her tax bracket. Women naturally tend to seek those who can provide for their family. Most who intend to have children want the option of staying at home with their child instead of having a stranger care for their child while they are out working.
@@MsDorcelus This is very true if you're speaking about good fathers. There are a lot of fathers who don't care to raise their girls, let alone tell them the truth about picking the right man. Sadly, a lot of men won't even step up when they have daughters, it's sad.
This is a mindset taught to live in fear scarcity and lack. Operating from a survivalist perspective. The money a person makes does not correlate to the content of their character
Thank you, Claudia for keeping it REAL! BC there are alot of women who think the same thing. Other cultures can say it and NO backlash! That is why I love you Claudia!!!!!

You are so right about men who say that they don’t want to date a woman with kids. They may say well that is too much baggage - creating potential problems down the line. I recently talked about in a video how a man that earn less than his woman could become bitter.
Kandi burrus is married to an educated man who doesnt have tne money she has and she is constantly being dragged for marrying beneath her or they call Todd an opportunist. Ebony is well within her rights to decide who she wants to date. Claudia you got it right. Iyanla should have asked ivanka trump, nicky hilton and the Kardashians if they would marry the bus driver and not the owner of the bus company.
I get what you’re saying and agree with most of your points but those latter women you speak of isn’t complaining about the lack of men available to them. What Eboni wants doesn’t want her. Maybe it’s her attitude or the chip she carries on her shoulders that turn men off.
And Kandi is no longer without a man/husband/father of 2 kids that she really wanted been for like 10 years now ..who cares what the haters got to say... she looked for love in different place and found her forever which was the real question ... are you really looking for your forever if you not looking every where

Syleena you nailed it. It's about being equally yoked, we don't need their money we need them to have a healthy intact ego when they are with a high performing woman. Iyanla's question was divisive to begin with and she knew it. Why would you ask this successful high powered woman would she date a bus driver? She was trying to shame her for having high standards and putting her in her "place" as a black women because we are supposed to "settle" for men who will not compete against other men in society in areas of providing safety, financial security, production and ownership. Iyanla basically said BW are not worthy of being with a successful man.

Eboni has been around the type guys she would like to marry her whole career and now she is on the down side of the curve, obviously she is toxic to all men.
I have heard Lisa Raye say out of her mouth she would not marry or date a man that couldn’t pay all her bills and she all so said it on a episode of trick daddy podcast Claudia you are so right what you said if they are beening honest
She did say that as I checked her Net worth = 10million Dollars. WOW! Dude ask her if they were in a committed relationship for her to just pay the electric bill and she refused. SMH
I agree with Claudia. She is speaking from the place that she is a high paid lawyer, and tv correspondent. I also agree that no other culture of women have to explain themselves in who they choose to date or marry.
Eboni’s biggest mistake was doing the interview in the first place. We should check the record of Iyanla. People don’t know that she was flat broke after her last divorce and lost everything until Oprah hired her to do a show on her network. So she shouldn’t have been asking Eboni that dumb question. Let’s not be so naive. If your husband don’t have any money then he’s going to come after yours when the relationship goes sideways.
Eboni had every right to speak her true feelings. Ya'll keep coddling these men while they drag us. Why would a millionaire lawyer want a person who isn't aligned with them.
I agree 100% with Claudia, and somewhat Syleena until she said Eboni could’ve said it a little better. Eboni explained her statement & her position on the topic quite nicely. The problem is the people who her statements applied to, took it negatively because it may have activated some hidden insecurities within themselves. Sometimes us as a whole feel a way when person’s preference doesn’t caters to what we don’t have to offer. A wise man once said, “A preference is not a prejudice.”

Great comment. The few of us who get it. Amazing how people can so quickly run with a narrative of the masses. Eboni's point was about the mindset not the money. But that's what people heard in their own head.
Then why was she intending to share that black ownership with a white man? She sounds like a complete buffoon preaching black ownership and black family wealth building when her wealth is going to the white community.
Claudia, you’re keeping this show alive single handedly. Ebony said nothing but the truth and y’all on here at your big ages lying. Cut the crap. Y’all love saving losers. I LOVE what EBONY said. That’s her opinion. If you WANT to date them then YOUUU date them!!! 😊 Im with Claudia on this. Iyanla targeted a specific question. Ebony just answered the question 🤷🏽♀️!!!
Thank you Claudia. I dated a bus driver. I am no wehere near a millionaire. He was also dating other women. His mother told me. He was mad because he had to pay child support. Couldn't / can't form a coherent sentence. He said he made over $100K but he works 7 days a week. in at 4 home by 9? What is Eboni supposed to talk to a bus driver about? Ilyana could have at least said a Nurse. Accountant.
You're making it sound like bus drivers have no education. No they didn't go to law school, but they have lots of common sense and are probably excellent in bed. I love sweaty, musty construction workers. They always come home wanting good food, massages and deep throat.
Eboni has a right to her dating preferences and should not be bullied for not wanting to date Bus Driver unless he OWNS the bus . She has a right to date a man on her educational and financial level .
I'm not mad at eboni, she knows what she wants..BUT, at her age, reality will set in...one life to live folks..happiness is underrated, especially during the dark times..so keep looking for your "standards" Eboni, but how many of your cheerleaders will be there with you when you're alone and down?
Imagine trying to make a relationship work when you got your own show and your husband is a bus driver. 🙄 People coming for Eboni are being very silly.
Eboni asked Ms Iylana a question and instead of response she was met with a gotcha question. There was no way to avoid the trap that was set and everyone else fell too
Ladies where was the LIE, and she never mentioned black men!!! Black men made that about them what’s sad is what she said was 90% true….And why is it black womens job to uplift black men shit the don’t even up lift each other bye Felicia
Most people on both sides dont understand that black men and women are equal and they've always been historically equal in integrated societies. Black men and women have always worked and the difference in salaries is like $3000. So stop with the manhood womenhood stuff and learn to work as a team.
Claudia had to be the one to say it like she mean it. If Claudia didn't say nothing, them rest would have left Eboni on the cross! Lil-miss-married didnt wake up until Claudia kept it 100% Eboni said what she said! Men like to nit pick on women for so many superficial reasons. Why are we tiptoeing around their ego? And yes, women with that many degrees don't want a bus driver for multiple reasons. 1. What are our conversations gonna be like? 2. Are you gonna be threatened by the fact that your woman is way more successful that you? 3. And how are you gonna react to that fact in the relationship, because men use that as an excuse to go cheat too. Eboni wants a man who can hold his own with her and not feel threatened. Maybe her non verbal cues was a lil off but she was being honest. If you feel a ways about it, go get you a degree too honey.
That all sounds good but absolutely has nothing to do with the backlash. Nobody cares about her preference. If her response was only about who she wants to be with, this wouldn't be a story. It was the extras, particularly in the second response that made people raise an eyebrow. From the disdain for the working class, to connecting the Black community's place in society to her dating choice, she seemed to go out of her way to be vindictive and came across as bitter.
@@diggidy5367 I agree, nobody cares about her preference, it's also obvious that her preference has issues, money isn't everything. There are men with less money who can have conversations with her about anything etc and viceversa. She is also within her right to want a wealthy man and I hope she gets one, her facial expressions and her explanation made it seem like she looked down on people of a lower financial bracket, which isn't cool.
Claudia has the best answer amongst the ladies in this particular video. I believe the rest of y’all secretly agree with Claudia but they can’t say it out loud bcs they are still stuck in the idea of struggled love as it pertains to black women. No one shames other women who desires a man that strive to reach his fullest potential.
Yeah you notice that even Iyanla gave a LOT of caveats before saying she would date a bus driver. And should we be taking relationship advice from a woman with three failed marriages?
So Vivica thinks that the only way to not “put down” a group of men is to give them access to your body? Seriously? Why do you have to give men the idea that they can have you to make them feel better? There’s a difference between a hood man and a good partner. You can be a good man and not be a good fit for a millionaire attorney. I thought it was just the men but we really do it to ourselves as well 😢
Eboni is an advocate for black ownership. She is an entrepreneur, her mom was an entrepreneur. She wants to be with a man who is an entrepreneur. She stands on what she said. Entrepreneurs and Employees have totally different mindsets. She’s saying she cannot vibe with an employee mindset. It’s not about money. It’s not about status. It’s about wanting to be with someone who believes in OWNERSHIP. If you know you know.
Not true, My son wanted to be a truck driver because his dad drives a truck, he thought it was cool, He now has a Class A CDL license and drives tractor trailers making 6 figures at 27 years old.
Yes, but they are likely close in income. There are many people with Master degrees making $50K. Eboni is a millionaire. No, she shouldn’t be settling for a bus driver.
Aren’t all these women single. These women have struggled in relationships-they are NOT the ones to talk about relationships. Lisa Raye married a so called prince and he divorce her.
Lisa Raye used to say OUTRIGHT that she was not a Gold Digger but a Platinum Digger. She wasn't dusting nobody off back then and won't do it now. And neither is Vivica. So please stop the disingenuity!!
I really wanted to avoid commenting about this but I sense a lot of gaslighting regarding this topic. The bottom line is, black women are constantly told in one form or another, you're not worthy of anything other than what society expects of you. Despite accomplishments, higher level of education and talents black women are considered low hanging fruit so what nerve does she have to want someone who owns something? Many people even within our own community don't value us. The experiement with the little white girl vs the little black girl left alone in a public area proves this point.
Black women are mad that black women who made something out themselves don’t desire their broke sons. Black men are mad black women who made something out of themselves don’t want to provide for them because they believe they are the prize. Sounds like a personal issue to me. Eboni has standards and they simply don’t qualify. 🤷🏾♀️
Eboni said these men are not protectors or providers and she’s right Eboni spoke with clarity on each point high key iyalna “insulted” bus drivers by using them as an example for a low class man stop protecting men who don’t care about you

It's nothing wrong with wanting your man or your children to live up to their potential. She spoke HER truth.
😂
*I’m glad that social media allows women to express and expose their true nature. Women like her want the bus company owner. She doesn’t have a shot with the bus company owner because he’s prefers her niece at the college campus or someone much younger and attractive than her!*

The question itself was insulting to bus drivers!! Not her answer. At 40 years old she believes the type of man she would be more compatible with is someone with-his own business. The extreme outrage towards her in the interview and online seems forced and performative. Claudia love your points!
OMG this!! The question was degrading
I agree with Eboni. They not about to bully my girl into dating someone she don’t want to date. People are really mad over someone’s dating preference. We have more serious things to be upset about

@@ladywhistlerclarke7862 Exactly and Claudia said it they wouldn’t ask a successful white woman this question and be this outraged.
She prefers a whiteboy anyway. Why didn't he marry her
Claudia, I'm SO glad you stood up for Ebony K.
Wow 😳
Amazing story. Well-told. Women should listen to your lived experience.
That's a whole book sis..😢

Too many people are in their feelings. Eboni said nothing wrong. She made excellent points on the Breakfast Club. Many women in my generation got caught financially carrying men to our detriment. My daughter is on a path to be a very high earner, and I have already advised her to choose a man close to her earning potential. I don’t want her to be stressed out and unhappy coddling an insecure man.
I know right, you wouldn't find this on black Twitter or why RUclips, LOL!
Agreed!!!

I agree 100% with Claudia, and somewhat Syleena until she said Eboni could’ve said it a little better. Eboni explained her statement & her position on the topic quite nicely. The problem is the people who her statements applied to, took it negatively because it may have activated some hidden insecurities within themselves. Eboni said what she said!
If you feel a ways about it, go get you a degree too honey.
well said!
Exactly.
Eboni said these men are not protectors or providers and she’s right Eboni spoke with clarity on each point high key iyalna “insulted” bus drivers by using them as an example for a low class man stop protecting men who don’t care about you
I totally agree with Claudia, because we all like what and who we like. And I had dated a bus driver before.
Great explanation and points ladies! I always said don’t sleep on a blue collar worker. Syleena is right some blue collar workers can make over six figures.
Thank you Claudia 🥰
Syleena….when it all, all falls down…oh when it all, all falls down…sing it girl..I luv it…still❤
Women who feel that a man's salary defines him will ALWAYS be alone!
FACTS!!!
Being alone is better than being a care taker to a man. Been there, done that. Don’t recommend it at all for any woman.
I’d rather be alone than to buy a man
Equally yoked has nothing to do with salaries. There's nothing to explain/clarify. She's entitled to have a preference regardless of her position. There are too many generalizations.
