It’s the second test in our £1,000,000 drag race series and we’ve been over to Germany to choose our two latest contenders!
First up it’s the AMG E63 S Estate, with 612hp as well as all-wheel drive. Alongside Mat is Shmee’s Renntech tuned GT R, which can hit 672hp. However, it’s only rear-wheel drive, so will that make a difference? There’s only one way to find out… Let’s race!

E63 S is still up by 100NM of torque. Also it seems to have a better launch control system, than the one in the M5 (as demonstrated in a quite a few videos).

Tuned car vs stock car... meaningless. The E63S probably would have destroyed the GTR, and the rolling drag would have been extremely close.

Highly doubt anyone is cocky enough to drive at 200mph down the autobahn, if u loose traction or spin out its a guaranteed death, fair enough that its fast, but u gotta remember u r supposed to brake also.
but it’s not that common to race on the highway from a dead stop, the rolling race is more applicable

Schmee seems plenty decent, but most people, including myself, can’t afford even half of one of those cars realistically even later in life. I just think it’s a little.. irrelevant. We’re literally watching a rich boy and his many toys on a programme meant to be focused on everyday consumers. If you want to watch Schmee’s channel, then do. But to have it here.. I dunno.

Why? Because it doesn't tell you much. It will always favour cars with 4wd and launch control, and a lot of the time the heavier car is favoured also, as shown here.
A half mile sprint, race from 50 and race from 70 would be good.

Niandra I think this is why you have a rolling race. First you test how to fast it accelerates from stop and then you have the high speeds test.

Interesting race considering the cars are so different. I knew the E63 would have the jump off the line up to around 40mph but I didn't expect it to stay in front over a 1/4 mile.
Don't forget the extra waight of the maxi cosi in the estate!
