Only 12 months of gap is acceptable. Once you are done with IELTS, start work again

If you're in gnm third year, then yes you can start your preparation !
If you're in your bsc. Nursing then wait for at least 4th year.
Becoz the OET result valid for 2 years, and there is not any information about recruitment.
You can start working on your English, and you can prepare by yourself during your nursing course, but I won't suggest you join classes or attempt before completing Nursing
