I've been waiting for this video.. it's actually better than I expected it to be, Le Festin D'esope and Le Chemin de Fer really are crazy pieces, props to you for doing your research for this video!
Really happy to see some "easy" pieces which we do not see often. I think the 7 fingers part of op15 no 1 would be an interesting kind of difficulty to present, because that part seems so easy to the ear.
Just curious where you would put the first movement of Alkan's sonatine-I can't seem to find any difficulty rankings with it so I don't know what pieces I should try next.
@@loganm2924 I agree. Like, Liszt, imo, tried harder in seeming hard, and his pieces generally are, more than actually being generally harder, which I think is more because he was way more in the public eye than alkan was, who was way more withdrawn.
It may be a matter of habit. I liked no piece of Alkan at the beginning, but now, after years hearing his music, I like almost every melody and keep discovering. I don't think there is Alkan's piece I liked at my first hearing, whereas today these are my favorite pieces that I can listen to without getting bored.
The second piece, is supposed to be “mad woman” not “made” sorry!
not only that, but also prière du soir not prire du soire
(edit) : XD

8:39Well honestly that part is wow beautiful
Check full. It has beautiful parts everywhere!
Concerto for solo piano ❤️

8:39 Imagine sitting in the chair for 49:59 MINUTES
The first piece is just beautiful
What about op.39 no.1 And op.39 no.3? They feature devilish tempo markings with the first marking Prestissimente and the third being Prestissimo
Comme Le vent is probably between 9 and 10, and the third is a bit lower than 9
Alkans harmonies are almost identical to chopins, especially in the concerto for solo piano , but the texture and technique is just deadly
Not identical... Alkan's are way more original, unconvent, modernistic and stunning!
アルカンはこの曲で部分的に全音階を使用しています。間違いなく比類なきロマン派の巨匠です。

All pieces are wonderful and beautiful
Thank you very much. I have searched this video
my whole life!
Great video as always! "Made Woman" prelude can be the prelude of the style of Henry Cowell?
one of my favorite virtuoso❤
Fun fact: the level ten piece has a triple sharp. Try to find it ;)😊
Yep, in the LH :)
@@acactus2190isn't that just evil?
I would like to see a video about 10 levels of Bach's piano (actually harpichord) pieces

OMG THE CONCERTO
What recording is the March? It sounds fantastic!

The first one would actually be playable for me 😮 (probably)
al kan
Scherzo focoso ?
Hot joke?
OMG 😳

10 levels of etudes
😀
Why did you use hamelin's recording for 39-12?? his recording is sloppy (too fast) and in general less musical than gibbons
Personally I like his interpretation on the piece
Listen to his Hyperion recording. If you don’t want to buy it I can email it to you
Are you sure it’s prire du soir?
Prière (prayer)
i am trying scherzo diabolico...maybe a 7 on this list, its kinda manageable...i think i better stop there.
concerts of ravel please
WE NEED SORABJI LIST
If your piano sounds like a sorting algorithm, you might be playing Alkan.
you just don't understand music, Alkan music was very original artistic, pioneering and genial.
Who’s harder: Alkan or Liszt?
Liszt without a doubt has harder pieces, but Alkan's "hard pieces" are probably on average more difficult than Liszt's "hard pieces".
@@loganm2924 I agree. Like, Liszt, imo, tried harder in seeming hard, and his pieces generally are, more than actually being generally harder, which I think is more because he was way more in the public eye than alkan was, who was way more withdrawn.
On avg Alkan’s pieces are harder technically, but Liszt’s hardest pieces are normally harder.
Liszt, because there some music in it
@@orgue2999you said liszt cuz You are just a fan
2nd level is so scary
Yep, it’s in my scariest piano pieces video!
Made woman?
Made woman lmao.
