I discovered this poem through Loreena McKennit’s song, and it’s one of my favorite poems. Your painting really does it justice, it is so beautiful.

All I can ever see in my brain with this poem is Anne Shirley floating away in her sinking boat. This is a gorgeous work of art.

One of my favorite poems and the subject of many paintings. Your reading and watercolor combined are so exquisite. I love the water moving and creating a ring of motion around the small boat. The use of desaturated colors forming this circle, almost a halo of muted colors, underscores the haunted and romantic tragedy of the Lady’s inevitable demise. One suggestion…a longer pause at the end so that I can REALLY SEE your finished work as your paintings deserve time to be appreciated, not only for your skill but for the beauty of the finished work. Thank you so very much. I look forward to seeing and listening to your next subject. Wonderful to enjoy this first thing in the morning.

Ohh thank you for the lovely words, I am flattered🥹 the water took me a while to figure out, so I’m glad to hear some good feedback on it! And gotcha, I’ll try to leave a longer pause at the end of the work next time ( it’s funny, I actually felt like it was too long this time- because I needed more shots to fill up the poem’s length😂 and was scrambling to find more footage)
