- early 2000s kids are nothing without their little computer games, and now we are permanently without these two. here's a look into the nickelodeon themed kids' spaces that once were.

I used to play The Club too. It doesn't surprise me that you couldn't find that much resources on it, it wasn't popular at all. I remember it being mostly empty whenever I played.

I LIVED in Nicktropolis when it was still going, their modern version of it is that Roblox game but it's not as memorable :(
ohmygod i had no idea they even had a roblox game :0 i don't doubt that it's nowhere close to nicktropolis though

as someone from the "the club" era, i still remember quite a bit about it at the time
there was this room where you could take pictures with your avatar and big time rush, and there was this second floor where it played big time rush (and i think victorious too?) music videos
another thing i remember from it were some of the items in the clothing shop, there were clothes based off of fairly oddparents, spongebob (obviously), big time rush, icarly, victorious, and also that god awful fred movie that came out around the time
i also remember that you had your own room on there too, and i specifically remember me having an icarly room that looked like carly's room from the show
Ther was also a El Tigre world in Nicktropolis! I did both websites but Nicktropolis was my home. I spent almost all my time in the teennick section bc I loved Naked Brothers Band

I'm glad some more people seem to remember this subject! I distinctly remember the commercials back in early 2007 on TV and I played Nicktropolis during its short lived three year run. I had a lot of fun on it back in the day and was sad to see it die out so quickly. I vividly remember a point in time where they had a room dedicated to promoting Super Mario Galaxy when that was coming out, yes that was a thing. I love discussing these niche and obscure subjects and I hope more people remember it.

i remember playing The Club all the time when i was a kid!! So many memories lol, i used to always hang out at the music lounge, trying to talk with the few players that were there while listening to music from big time rush and victorious. i remember doing my best to complete these protect-the-environment related quests (i don't remember what they were called or what rooms they were in) to get points and buy items from my avatar like jade's and tori's prome dresses and decorate my avatar's room the same way carly's was decorated. sooo nostalgic but so sad that there aren't many videos about The Club :(
OHH MY GOD THIS GAME. I remember it was a trend to turn your room into a "hotel" and rent out mini rooms you made within it

I started playing during a Tak and the power of juju event. And I’ll never forget the Halloween event where you turn people into werewolves
I actually never played many virtual worlds at least not much. My favorites where Animal Jam, Wizard 101 (even if I never got a membership for 101) and My Epets.
Man... Neopets was my first online game after getting the little yellow dragon burger king toy lmaoo. Then after finding nicktropolis my cousin also played it. Her and I would run around then watch drake and josh on the mini tv :'). Sad such a simple little game was never archived and is unable to be revived... You truly just had to be there also great video
Awesome video! I’ve honestly have not heard of nicktropolis till this video but it seemed like a epic place to hang out and reminds me a bit like animal jam which was the only one of these online games I played minus roblox. I also wanted to get into movie star planet when I was little aswell and saw ads for it all the time but I always assumed that it was for “older kids” so I never played it. Also CONGRATS ON ALMOST 1k SUBS WOOO!!! :D great video and I can’t wait to see what you creat next!

I never played that one when I was younger but I really remember loving nick’s monkey mmo
monkey quest!! i played it for a while before it shut down :)
i still have random screenshots from the club on a disk drive somewhere- i know i have one of james from big time rush saying "hey *my username*!" and one of my avatar with the patrick star character at least. i also vividly remembered reading an invader zim vampire fanfic on the boards as a kid and was actually able to find a few of the chapters through the internet archive! i'm so glad people decided to cache some of those things while they existed, but it's sad they'll never really be able to truly come back in full.

One weird thing about the club I remember is that at night people could swear and I’m not sure if the filter was removed at night or if they were bypassing it somehow yet it never let me do it 😂
i know that on most smaller mmos the only way they could stop you from using inappropriate language was to wait until you actually sent it into the chat and only then could you be punished / have it removed and i think that censorship was usually up to mods, and that less mods were hired for night shifts on those kinds of websites,, so it is very possible all of that was true for the club!!
Nicktropolis is one of those things that sadly almost feel completely forgotten to me. Even I forgot it a bit actually, because I'm preeeetty sure I joined when it was close to dying and turning into The Club. And when it turned into the latter, yeaaah, I didn't really use it anymore after that. I don't mean to make myself sound like a geezer when I ain't but, man... the internet just really isn't what it used to be for kids.
i feel like i need to dedicate a surplus amount of videos to the fact that the internet definitely isn't the it girl she used to be.. it's sad really like i genuinely think there's something to be said about all the contributing factors to WHY it feels so lifeless and boring nowadays compared to back then,, if not a whole video then definitely a giant rant in a related video
really loved the video!!also for me personally i have like, a REALLY short attention span and most 30 minutes lost media videos i just can't sit through without playing a game but urs i can just sit down and watch anytime and i appreciate that quality:)

I kinda remember these two! If memory serves right, one of them had a theater that would play clips of Nickelodeon shows.

I played this game briefly back in the day. I remember visiting the pier and underwater area the most.
Iirc the pier had a midway with a bunch of good minigames to play, and i liked how absolutely monstrous you could make the player avatar be with the right parts

wonderful video!! i used to love nicktropolis as a kid (probably like, 2008-2010?) but fell off it once the club had been introduced since everything felt so different (and by that time i was more into roblox and club penguin lol), it's rly interesting to hear abt the club from someone who was on there for more than i was!

Fosters home for imaginary friends online game was super fun for me and my siblings as well and that seemed lost to me. Was it big fat awesome house party? Maybe.
Habbo hotel, neopets, wizard 101/ pirates101(prior to wizards but maybe not 101, was a pirate mmorpg kinda realistic but barely ran on my older pc), buildabears/webkins had their own stout… where am I going with this…
Anyways nostalgia is great stay hydrated.
i genuinely feel like at some point i will have to cover all of these in some way because like they just embody nostalgia to me and i miss them :(
I’ve never heard of these virtual worlds before! It sounds like it came after I stopped frequenting these kind of websites, which is kind of a shame because I would’ve loved wandering around a MLAATR world!

YOOOO i remembered being bullied and groomed tf out of on this website as a kid.😂 and the "replacement" words we all used to "swear" on this service. as for the club I remember me and my friends made accounts, played for like 4 minutes and said "this isnt nicktropolis" and hopped off
i am so so sorry that happened to you.. it seems like being groomed on a virtual world is some kind of screwed up rite of passage
@@xephrou no worries! little me didn't know any better but most definitely now that I'm older I realized what was going on. outside of that, this video brought up a lot of great memories I had of this site with me and my friends, some of which I still talk to this day!

Ahh I LOVED Bearville! My favorite thing was making and serving other players their orders in the cafe area! I was so sad to come back to it after taking a break and finding it had been shut down for months! X'D I remember being really confused as an 8yr trying to figure out what interest was and just leaving the bank.
