its a great step up for the wii. i was very suprised they were able to put 86 songs, great video, no/ barley any lag online, same guitar gameplay + drums, bass and vocals without any lag or framerate drops, song creator, downloadable songs (store and GH tunes), and the exclusive mii freestyle mode into one dual layered dvd that holds about 8.5 gb's of data
Whoever said about the hardcore gamer thing, I 100% agree with you. I think it was Chris Vance who said that they loosened the time bracket on it so that casual gamers would have more fun with it. But the slidebar addition will still keep hardcore gamers on their toes, especially with that beat it solo. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Rock band 2 hands down. looks better feels better, better songs, more dlc, easier vocals, better charting, you can actually read things, and better career mode. but that's just my opinion
You only use it when the notes are transparent & have a purple line connecting them that means you can use the slider on the neck to tap or slide without strumming
you should see the song list and decide by yourself oh, one thing. if you're going to play a lot with friends, GH says that all of you fail the entire song when only one person fails his part. In rock Band you can save this person activating the star power or extasy

Harmonix made rock band and it was a big hit and now Guitar Hero changed their minds and used Harmonix's ideas to compete. So you can't really say that Guitar hero is the original since Rock Band is the original full band game.
you have to wait anyway, just to press the damn button anyway, and when you've got a number of hammer-ons coming at you, you're not going to pay attention to that and most likely fuck up. especially when you're under pressure and trying to get that 100% FC.
I thought that IGN was too harsh as well, until I bought the game. I took it back to Gamestop the next week. My biggest problem- the song selection in Career mode. Ugh.
I think that overall Guitar Hero plays a bit better than Rock Band but Rock Band has an amazing setlist this time around so I think that neither side will pull way ahead for a bit.
So basically IGN is telling us that World Tour is the greatest Meh! in history. I wouldn't mind getting Rock Band before WorldTour (unless number 2 came for the Wii), but I kinda am a GH fan through and through and I might get WT first.

well this is the first guitar band game activison made. its very posibly the next guitar hero world tour would be a big imporvement. more stable instraments, a beter interface. i hope they the game gets improved in the years.

the wii version is way different. first off it looks almost identical to guitar hero 3 (which means no glossy fret notes) at the solo parts where to don't have to strum, there are no purple lines that connect the notes, AND you can tell what button ur pressing(a light flashes of the color) and the engine is more responsive with mii freestyle.

This game was just a sad attempt at making money off of rock band. DOWN WITH GUITAR HERO!!!
it depends what kind of music your into. rock band has much more variety and has more metal and hard and classic rock. GHWT has a lot of emo, punk, and soft rock. i recommend rock band.

im a guitar hero fanboy but im gonna get rock band 2 as well cause the instruments work for both, then we can see who the real winner is. and anyway people have there own opinion of games and i have gh3, everybody said it was bad but i got 60hours play out of it, so in the end its up to personal choice
I hate to to say this but rock band 2 has 84 songs plus 20 free dlc songs. World tour has 86. And there are no covers in rock band 2 its all master tracks
did u see what rating they gave it? 7.9... its way too harsh i know, i mean in his written review he says that all the hardware is awesome apart from the touch bar on the guitar but u dont have to use that guitar as the gh3 guitar works perfectly on gh4.

......you're talking about Neversoft. Guitar Hero was good with Activision until rock the '80's when Harmonix(the father of Guitar Hero) ended up leaving Activision to make Rock Band.
But.... There is a music creator so all the metal junkies will make more metal songs I hope... Hopefully there will be people with no lives making some good songs, and hopefully there will be a variety in songs made
i don't know if it's just me but the drums charts don't look that great, they need to work alot more at the singing, and the editor needs a little bit more tweaking. Even though Guitar Hero dominates with the guitar, I still think that rock band 2 has a better music selction and has worked alot more at the other instruments. I think Rock Band 2 would be a better choice right now but the next guitar hero will probably reach that bar and maybe even raise it. But then again it's just my opinion...

Im getting one of the two for xmas. But i really cant decide which one. Ive been with guitar hero for a while, having GH2, GH3, GH aerosmith. But now the reviews have made it difficult.. alot of the songs on rockband are excellent, but i prefer gameplay of GH. in this video he said the band mode wasnt as good a rockband and neither was the touring or something like that. me and my homie just got this yesterday and spent all day just playing it and makin a song........i think the studio is the best part.....but we had to use rockband drums (only bought the disc, (couldnt afford the band edition)).
yeh its there but thats far from being their best song i mean fade to black sanitarium master of puppets or creeping death would have been so much better but i guess they are saving the good stuff for guitar hero: metallica. i hope

I would have chosen GHWT as the best because of its custom song mode. But it doesn't have vocals

The tracks change when you use Rock band Instruments
you can just press the buttons during the tap bar sections, you dont have to use the tap bar
