Personally, I liked Bahubali a little more than RRR. The reason is character development. Since Bahubali was a 2 -part movie, there was ample time for character development.
Here, given the scale and breadth of the story, there wasn't that much time for character development.
My parents didn't like it too much - they thought it was entertaining but not great cinema. Even in the western world, I have seen some older folks who said that
the CGI was cartoonish and defied physics(and thus belief).
In general, younger audience profiles have taken a shine to it. Also, action-wise, this trumps Bahubali and the faster pacing suits a more youthful audience profile.
Nevertheless, I agree that this should be India's oscar entry, and if you guys are to be believed, going by the buzz, it could even win!
Damn. Such a different opinion. I like Bahubali but RRR is just 10 notches above it in filmmaking. Maybe that is the reason it has gained this much Fandom across the globe. Bahubali is more suited for indian minds tbh. Ghar ka Jhagda, daba k dialoguebaazi, songs.. sab bhra hua hai.
Bahubali 2 was better but 1st part was just okayish. Rrr has better screenplay and pacing.
I think story and concept wise i prefer baahubali. It has everything you need. But the screenplay direction and pace of RRR is perfect. No scene or shot was unnecessary and i cannot say the same for baahubali. RRR was also sooooo good to watch in the theatres. The director has improved and grown through each movie. so yeah RRR is above baahubali IMO. But I'd personally prefer to re-watch baahubali just for the story, the actors in it and I never turn down an opportunity to watch Historic Epics, especially ones based on India. Something very irresistible about baahubali. I also understand why someone would love baahubali more because of the change it brought to Tolly (indian in fact) industry.
I have a different opinion, baahubali 2 used to be favorite Telugu movie until I saw rrr, and now rrr is probably one of my favorite movies of all time of any language
Bahubali was a way better movie than RRR which is why the business it did was way less than Bahubali. These silly Americans are trying to receive credit etc.

Love your videos but c'mon guys, are the academy awards even relevant these days? Also why should an Indian film even try to get validation from a bunch of old rich (predominantly white and male) Americans who are ridiculously out of touch even with Western society/culture? They are ill placed to judge, let alone bestow any form of award/recognition/validation to anything created in India imo.
It's your take getting Oscar opens gate for an Indian culture to entire world like it did for Korean culture through parasite. May be you don't need as a country every country desire for Oscar bcz it opens your film to entire world
No needs to overdo - RRR deserves award in technical and spacial effects segment - otherwise, it is an average movie with good music and dance that defies logic

after watching 100's of reviews about RRR... it's the one they need to nominate. I literally found 1 negative, and that person didn't even understand the plot! so that guy needs to watch it in theatres.. or a huge screen again.

making physics comments about RRR is so weird and lame considering way more unbelievable stuff happens in movies we’ve seen: time travel, space travel at light speed, portals, every damn thing in the MCU like a teenager getting bitten by a spider and somehow his biochemistry gives him spider powers, some nerd’s entire anatomy changes him into hulk, guy with a silly goatee twirls his hands and opens dimensions and multiverses, literal magic like harry potter, dead people coming back to life, even john wick getting thrown off a skyscraper and being perfectly fine lol. if he’s that durable why does he need to even fight anybody then, everybody’s hands should break if they punched him.

As long as people enjoy that is all it matters. The main motto of the movie to is introduce and announce loudly about Alluri Seeta Rama Raju and Komaram Bheem to Indians living in India as North Indians have been blind-sighted about South Indian history because of the Politicians and Bollywood. Movies like RRR, SyeRaa or Bahubali just help Telugu people to tell our stories to all of India. We are not interested in awards, as long as all Indians(first priority) and you westerners enjoy them.

India definitely has way better cinema than RRR. Those films might not be as flashy or commercially successful, but I'd rather watch something with heart than cool special effects.

From casting of actors to method of acting to cinematography its one of the most poorly made films in recent times. One of worst filmmaking seen in recent times. Just because America doesn't know about Baahubali, or you don't care about Baahubali....it doesn't mean that RRR is a better film. RRR had a bigger budget, the production quality is higher, more money has been spent on its publicity all over the world, more people have become aware of it....but Baahubali still remains a way better film as compared to RRR.

People can say anything about RRR They hav their own opinions but i personally loved the movie....
I don't understand someone who does not even have a clue about Indian's and their history at all...commenting on how unnatural things are in the film...Firstly humans do hunt tigers here they do fight if necessary obviously with weapons...most of the scenes in this film did happen in real life too...it's just u guys don't know how great Indian men are...doesn't give u any right to comment on how unnatural or impossible situations are..not fair

Some of the stunt sequences are quite comical in this move, it's even worse in Bahubali. I enjoyed the movie but i don't feel like wanting more of such stuff. More from Rajamuli yes with less comical acrobatics.

Coz in both cases the sample size of movies that the above mentioned audience have watched of the respective industries is very less hence RRR and vijay sethupathi are just lucky to be among such a low sample size to get this praise
