I think he only needs to sit for 1 year. I keep seeing all kinds of reports about how smart he is and how he basically lives in the film room. He should pick things up quick

BUT, he played well for IND last year, his stat line is good. He just choked in the last game of the year, the biggest game of the year for them…which yes, is a problem. But he’s not bad. 14 mil per year for just 2 years isn’t that bad for a young veteran QB who is very familiar with the NFC East teams schemes. I’m glad we got Howell though. Between him and Heinecke, I’m not worried if Wentz doesn’t pan out. We got backups ready to ball!

Then after trading for Wentz I wanted to trade back again in the 2nd and get him there. But to get him in a trade back in the FOURTH ROUND and then to somehow get him in the freaking FIFTH ROUND PICK(!?!?!?!?). I am ecstaic! Now if Wentz doesn't work out in 2022 not only can we release/trade him with zero cap space lost (from what I understand anyway), but we have a pretty damn special talent that will have had an entire season in the NFL to help assimilate him to the pros. How awesome is this? I loved the trade back and Jahan Dotson pick in round 1. The 2nd round pick was a big surprise and I still don't like the pick, but I'm willing to give it a wait and see sort of approach and I like it that he can essentially take Time Settle/Ioan Man's spot(s) and then after having a full season under his belt take over for DaRon Payne and then we can get a 3rd round compensatory draft pick all while having the replacement ready to take over on a much cheaper late 2nd round rookie contract. That's smart Front Office work right there and how teams like the Patriots, Ravens, Packers, 49ers, Steelers, etc all have worked the draft/FA/compensatory picks like magic. Now hopefully Washington can finally jump on board after 25 years of awful managing.

It's that those people were so stuck on the possibility of getting Kyle Hamilton or Chris Olave as the 11th pick. Now I do understand how awesome Kyle Hamilton could be in this defense but honestly the offense needs the most help by far and while Kyle Hamilton is a very talented player, he'd more than likely be a more Buffalo Nickel/ "Money Backer" the position that Landon Collins was playing after the defensive coaching staff FINALLY figured out that Collins was terrible at the Free Safety position! Now that is an important position to fill and it'd be damn fun watching Hamilton light it up with the front 4 here and the solid secondary already in place and the improving LB corps but with all of that being said, getting Jahan Dotson (who will be a better WR in the NFL than Chris Olave I promise y'all that!), Plus the 3rd/4th round draft picks that netted us an awesome RB in Brian Robinson (who will then allow Antonio Gibson to play all around the offense like he should be) and will beef up the running game big time and is also an excellent pass protector (only allowed 1 sack and 11 QB pressures out of 136 pass protecting snaps, according to si.com/BamaCentral) and also had I think 36 receptions for about 236 yards and 2 TDs (I'm remembering all that off the top of my head but it's very close to that). With the extra 4th round pick we were able to do another trade back which netted us Sam Howell! So, there's no way that Kyle Hamilton or Chris Olave alone would be better than Jahan Dotson plus Brian Robinson, Sam Howell (and possibly another draft pick that we got from trading back with that extra 4th rounder but I'm not sure. Either way we were able to get the FS out of Louisiana that played for the Ragin' Cajuns... Percy Butler who is literally thee best special teamer in all of the 2022 draft and Chris Simms considers one of the best pure free safeties in the entire draft and is very good in coverage and tackling but at the same time needs to work on his "angles in the tackling department". That sounds like excellent value for a 4th round pick. I think the draft was a huge success! The 2nd round pick Phidarian Mathis the Alabama DT was maybe a bit of a reach but who cares about that? As long as he's talented and fills a big enough need who cares? He'll be great depth/rotation this season and most likely take DaRon Payne's spot next season and save a whole lot of cap space. He also takes over Tim Settles vacant spot as a back up DT and with Matt Ioaniddis leaving in FA as well the DT positions waz VERY thin. Now it's fine. I’m looking forward to the draft and I am one to say if we are able to grab a top quarterback in this draft then yes we should draft one . Competition brings out the best of players. The draft is loaded with offensive lineman and we can definitely grab a lineman in the second round.

Yep, Much better arm talent. Baker throws with his hips and gets hurt all the time. Howell lower body is built like a running back. If he can learn the nfl, study his butt off, he will be a very very good qb in the nfl.
I agree. That's a bad comp. He LOOKS more like Baker Mayfield than actually plays like him. I don't get it at all. A slower Russell Wilson sounds about right. He's tough as nails and plays very hard and plays with a lot of moxie like Taylor Heneicke does. Luckily, Sam Howell has a MUCH stronger arm than Taylor Heneicke and he really fits Scott Turner's offense so that's really important.
