Seriously so underrated! I really enjoyed using it, the only reason I’m hesitating is because I know the second I get it, they are going to release the Mark ii with built in NDs lol 😂
I’m really struggling trying to understand what you exactly do when running from one place to another, what settings do you have on auto, do you keep you iso fixed, i have the fx30 preparing to use it for clients.
Great question! For this wedding I used Cine EI mode and stayed on ISO 800 up until reception. I filmed in 4K XAVC HS, 60 FPS, I exposed mostly with my Shutter here because I didn't have an ND. I used the Sigma 24-70 F2.8 for capturing a variety of focal lengths. White Balance Outdoors was 5600K, Indoors 3800K. It does help using Cine EI so that your ISO is fixed and the only thing you have to focus on settings wise is your White Balance/Shutter(if no ND)
@@WaywardNorthReally Cine Ei, I’ve tried using that mode as it was the default mode when i first turned on the camera and I was boggled, my confusion comes from the fact that my exposure meter seems to interpret incorrectly over exposure. What happens when you are in a less lit situation and it becomes underexposed even at 2500 iso, is there enough latitude to adjust it in post? Have you had to do that? I’ve felt I have to be in flexible ISO which might be not the best but Im weary of underexposed footage. Are you using Cine Ei only and switching between both L & H base ISOs or are you using Cine Ei Quick mode? Did you use the FX30 nearly the entire time?
Man, i just got my fx30. I'm being told that it doesn't perform super well under low light conditions. What is your strategy behind working around this?
A few tips to help you capture better low light situations with this camera. Film low lit moments with a prime lens (1.8 or lower is best), film in S-Cinetone instead of LOG so you can have more flexibility with your ISO, and the third if you can afford it, is invest in a portable light/light stand. The Aputure 60X's are great and what I use for my receptions.
Fellow fx30 shooter here. do wedding and sports. I love the way you set this video up! Within 15 seconds you showed me who this couple was at their core and captured their energy!
Good work. I really enjoyed the vibe at the beginning and could have watched more of that. I also liked what you didn't show :) no getting ready or giving the bridesmaids presents etc. Kept everything flowing pretty well. I saw a mic on the groom but how did you capture the brides audio?
This is what I love about reading comments, they answer my questions, i watched this a few months ago and watching it again, because Im filming my first wedding since 2020 and filming it solo😂😂 Now im more nervous. Haha
Pretty much all day. I only use auto focus in situations where I’m leaving the tripod unmanned during ceremony. Sometimes I’ll use it during tracking shots for portraits but I am mostly manual focusing throughout the day
Great film as always man. You’ve had a few recently you shot on FX30. How much of this was shot on the FX30? Are you just skipping the A7S3? Because you like it more or for the RUclips algorithm? I’ve really only used my FX30 as a D cam so I’m curious.
Thanks man! I would say 98% was shot on the FX30. The only shots that were A7Siii was the left angle ceremony and then the bride and groom reaction during the speeches. So only 2 shots total were different. I wanted to test out the FX30 and see if it had potential for an all day cam. Not perfect, but definitely worth it!
Amazing work! Your films always inspire me to keep pushing to get better at wedding films! Wee question, what font are u using for the title? Been looking for a new font to use and that looks really nice. Thanks!
Beautiful story telling, and the audio is so crisp!
I would love to see a video of the process of shooting this solo. You did an amazing job.
Thanks so much friend! Thats a great video idea!
Was just thinking I’d be fine just using 3 FX30s all day at a wedding. Underrated cam for sure

@@WaywardNorth hahah fair enough 😆
Great point, and that's probably why they are dropping the price now.@@WaywardNorth
This is beautiful, I love how it feels like an actual movie👌🏾
Thanks so much!
Great video! Love the image quality and their energy.
AMAZING Intro. Love the video.
Extremely well done! I had goose pimples watching this…
Thanks so much! Gotta love those goose pimple kind of films! 🙏🏻 ❤️
What a great couple. They look like a lot of fun!
So much fun! It was definitely a whole vibe here 🙏🏻
Un trabajo excelente. Este video es perfecto.
Absolutely beautiful

good job man 👏truly cinematic, a reference for a mine future work eheh
Amazing video created with an underrated camera set up ! Can u pls share the lenses that u used with the fx30 ? Thanks much
@@harshbhavsaar2283 I used the Sigma 24-70 on this one
Well done! What is the name of the second song you used?
Yo! This goes hard! Thanks for providing info about all the gear!
Thanks so much!!!
LOVE IT!!!
These two were so much fun. Thanks so much!
They are so lovely and cute. ^^,
hi, amazing video! How did you make the effect at 1:24 ? thanks
That's real Super8mm film that I had processed and scanned.

Which software was used to edit the vids, and what's the color correction used. I'm trying to edit my brother's wedding vids.
I edit in Final Cut Pro X - using their built in color correction plugins
@WaywardNorth I see. Thanks for the info. I'll check them out. Do you remember which specific plugins you used? Sorry, I'm new into the final cut pro
Lord almighty you give me hope as a solo wedding film shooter! 👏
You can do it!
May i know the energetic intro song you use in this video?
Good job! Did you use any Black pro mist filter or anything?
I did have a Pro Mist filter! I was using the Nisi Kit Filter system for this one.

Que coisa mais linda, meu irmão!!! Parabéns pelo seu trabalho. Esse filme poderia ser um episódio da série "This Is Us" :)
Thank you so much!
Amazing work! I just grabbed an fx30 for a b-cam and it’s really capable! What lenses were used here?🔥🔥
Thanks so much! I used the Sigma 24-70 all day!
This is beautiful! How did you color grade this? If I had to guess was it the phantom LUTS Jamaica?
Thanks so much! I actually graded this with my lut pack! :)
@@WaywardNorth omg, link please!🤣
Oh okay I found it under description

No mic on the bride for this one. Just on the groom and they were close enough that it picked up both 💪 Thanks so much!

Did you shoot this in slog3? Amazing work as always!!
I sure did! Huge fan of Log now lol thanks so much friend!
What is your shooting in manual to auto focus ratio for a wedding day?
Pretty much all day. I only use auto focus in situations where I’m leaving the tripod unmanned during ceremony. Sometimes I’ll use it during tracking shots for portraits but I am mostly manual focusing throughout the day
Bro this is so good, how do I get to this level?😫
Keep investing in yourself (learning, growing, practicing your craft) I’m still doing this - you got this my man! Thanks for your kind words 💪
do you use promist for this?
I did!

Can i ask what fps were you primarily shooting at at this wedding. Specifically at the first part of the video. I love your style!
60FPS all day
@@WaywardNorthand what was the timeline setting? 24 fps? Did you use an optical flow?
