Great vid. I’ve lived around Mow Cop my whole life and never get tired of all the short sharp climbs. Biddulph moor has some nasty routes up if you’re ever back
Thanks for the info! Yeah I've seldom ridding the moors there, did a sportive once, but Mow Cop was the main draw. I love a nasty climb - the nastier the better!
I live about 5 miles from Mow Cop but you wouldn't catch me trying to do it! I go up the other way, Tower Hill Rd, which is a more sedate climb peaking at 10 or 11%. I've done the Cat & Fiddle at least 6 times. Well done!
Sutton Common BT Tower is a 72-metre radio tower built of reinforced concrete at Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. 11-30 - not nearly enough to maintain a smooth cadence. The road sign on the approach to that section of the climb states 25%. According to Strava my average cadence along the whole segment was 47rpm; even slower on that 25% slope. Proper digging deep - surprisingly thinking about it further - my breathing was pretty good on that ascent; sometimes it can get quite erratic.
Very good Richard, do me a favour, talk or eat one or the other

Well done Richard, Out of curiosity what is your cassette range? As the section near the pub looks brutal

Loving your videos👍
Glad you like them!
Good effort, especially as you weren’t feeling 100% at the start!
Very true Si =) Glad to have beaten Mow Cop into the ground.
