I remember phoning the manager of hastings pier when they had a top band on and telling him that the organist insisted on coming up through the stage and telling him that he would have to cut a hole in the stage and get a forklift truck underneath to raise the organ. I think he nearly had a heart attack
Fascinating...I have just opened a business at Marine Court...in St Leonards, not Hastings...and am looking to promote the history of the building to go alongside the major refurbishment works that are currently underway.
