This footage is really good. The It’s A Small World clock tower from 1982 in the evening. Wow! Most old footage that I see of this usually takes place in the morning or afternoon. Keep the videos coming.
Yes, I noticed that too. Very cool and interesting observation, which was probably because of the looping tape systems that they were most likely still using at the time.
@@Cecnorthernohio I think I heard that somewhere as well, great observation. Since that was installed in 2005, I really have no idea why they just didn't use the full loop, but at least it got fixed later.
I think most of it is the camera quality. However, it seems that the blue on the clock tower did become slightly more faded in the early 80's until it received a fresh coat of blue paint in 1983, the same blue that it used from 1977-1992.
Unfortunately, better quality video wasn't possible yet back then. This was as good as consumer video camera quality got in the early 1980's. It was very early on after they were first available and they slowly but surely improved over the years.
I've actually heard that. It has been reinstated there since opening in 1992, as this 1993 video proves at 0:55: ruclips.net/video/YrswwXjS798/видео.html
@@benjaminroberson1924 true. I think this version is *WAY* better than the version they introduced after the last refurb prior to the one just completed.
I can actually see that they reduced the speed of the clock and flower prob because of age Edit: actually nevermind every thing on the clock tower was fast
Yes, they did reduce the speed of the clock and flower in the early 1990s. I think the clock was changed to its current speed around 1990, and the flower was actually changed to a slower speed a couple years later, probably 1992. There is 1990 footage of the parade at night, which shows it right after the speed of the clock was changed, but the flower still had its original speed. You can find it by searching "it's a small world 1990", or going to my it's a small world Clock Parade through the years video of the Disneyland version.
Also theres one thing to point out the hong kong and the tokyo one actually have the same speed as in this video you uploaded but was changed around 2005 or 2018 i dont know ages I found a video of toyko before its 2018 refurbishment and the clock face was broken at the time but the clock and the flower did move faster
@@BetaMariosHell Hong Kong clock and flower have a similar speed to the 1992 Disneyland version, when the clock moved like it does sometimes now (When it's not turned off), and the flower moved slower than before, but a bit faster than since the late 90's or early 2000's. But Tokyo to this day still uses the same versions of the clock and star that have been there since it opened in 1983, the fastest, most kinetic version that was also at California from 1966-90. I wish they moved like Tokyo/Old CA versions at all parks, because it definitely added a lot to the whimsical nature of the Clock Parade and ride in general.
@@benjaminroberson1924 Alright one more thing to say will there be more Disney parks? If there will be more that means more clock towers right? One more thing the paris version needs a very serious repair

Those little figures look like Japanese Kokeshi Dolls.
I have a question, the facade looks a bit dusty. Is it the camera quality or is it really like that?
