So now if I try in 2025 then it will be like a 2 year gap. Will this be a major deterrent while appearing for interviews and exams later on? I only came to know about this profession during the start of my college.I have an okayish percentage in my 10th and 12th(85&89 resp).

We don’t have a merchant navy. The wages ashore are better than at sea. Plus the conditions are better protected ashore. India is different; USD and INR are different. If I saved enough, why go out to sea. It is hard to generalise. Wages ashore in India are not good. We enjoy a wages arbitrage like foreign shipping companies gains a cost arbitrage with Indians. We are a poor country like the Phillipines or Eastern Europeans.

Only 17.3% of the planet's population speaks English. 95% of the video is in English. Sometimes speakers tend to speak in their language I guess. This problem can be solved once youtube allows Multi-language Audio feature to creators so that every language can be catered for😊
