I've certainly driven myself away from a few "major accidents"! Reminds me of the lyrics to a Robert Earl Keen song:
"When and if I ever finally pass you
Oh when I do and if I'm still alive
I won't ever see you, cause I'm ripping out my rear view
And I'm shifting it on in to overdrive
But your still swervin' in my lane and it's causin' lots of danger
I'm a stompin' on the foot feed, I'm a shooting you the finger
I keep a switchin' on my bright lights, but you're just too dim to know
When your swervin' on life's highway, you're running someone off the road!"

The last story about female doctors, THAT happened! An attending and amazing teacher of mine had that situation. This patient was literally in a life or death situation and, when he found out he was going to be operated by a woman, he refused treatment, didn't do the surgery. The team started looking for a male surgeon but he didn't make it. He died like 2 days later, while the team searched for a male doctor for him. He DIED Literally prefered his stupid beliefs over his life... My teacher told us this story and her response was: "Natural selection" 🤷‍♀️

It's so weird because in my country jobs like doctors and nurses are very feminised. It is believed that they are better at the job, patients tend to relax more when they see a female doctor, and they are more sought after, the difference is that their men counterparts aren't treated with disdain or untrustworthiness.
PS: I understand that the problem is on both sides of the opinion(Not trusting women to do it or putting them in a box of care work) but at least this way nobody is committing suicide because of their sexism.

Also about the "women couldn't make art until recently" thing.
So women were considered their husbands' property until the 80's, so anything the wife makes is technically the husbands property, so he could take credit for it.
Also, many female artists made male pen names to get their works out to the public, even to this day.

@@mikespicer4827 it's been only a dew decades since women are allowed to even follow this path. Girls still grow up in a society where people give them more compliments for their looks and clothes than for their intelligence and hard work compared to boys, so of course they are more likely to not be very ambitious when they grow up and not show off their talent and skills. The truth is that a big part of society still values ambition and hard work in men, and bring women down, making them not believe and follow their dreams. Don't get me wrong, men also suffer from toxic societal expectations, but in a different way. Still, the point is that men had thousands of years to show off their skills, while women got only a few decades.

I did an experiment when I was in high school (back in the 70s).
We had an art show every year that was judged and critiqued. The first year I entered with my first and last name (first name is Suzanne). It was a pencil drawing of my cat I did, from a photograph I took of her looking out a window. It was challenging to draw the glass and her reflection, and my art teacher recommended I enter that drawing. I didn't even get a runner-up ribbon and In the critique, one judge commented that she thought she'd seen this image before, so it wasn't "original".
The next year I entered a drawing I did of a photograph of a little girl from Nat. Geographic and got 2nd place. That time I only used my last name. That image really wasn't "original" since I based my drawing on a photo from a very well-known magazine.
I still think my cat drawing was the better of the two.
Ever since then, I sign with my initial and last name.

These Cardiologist’s would give me random prescriptions that caused me many heart attacks. All of the treatment , my parents and I sought, were in California, Texas, Illinois, and the Carolina’s… all males
After my 65th heart attack at the age of 42, a 4 foot female Cardiologist, took the time to study me and found 32 holes in my heart. She gave me an ablation operation and I have never had an issue since

Yeah, this I believe! Bc for MANY MANY years, Drs did NOT take women serious & believed we were all these fragile, emotional, airheaded, delicate sensibilities, & irrational creatures. They didn't study women or listen to anything they said & just chalked it up to us being dramatic! & Having a female Dr was a HUGE blessing bc they would listen & understand. Now, I WILL say that during my LONG battle to get my diagnosis of Adenomyosis & then to treat it, I met some female Drs that were WORST than any male Dr. & W\the exception of 2 of the guys, the make Drs were actually more compassionate & sympathetic to my struggle. The women were all period cramps don't hurt THAT bad! All women have them & manage just find day to day.
Ummm NO! Maybe YOUR pd cramps aren't that bad bc you haven't ever suffered a HORRIBLY agonizing disorder where your uterus is literally ripping itself apart from the inside out! But I believed as a teen that I was just a big fat baby, so I'd suffer quietly. Then I have birth for the 1st time. There were complications & they had to induce me & the baby STILL wouldn't come so they broke my water b4 I had even dilated at ALL! & We were told the contractions progressively get worse but they start at level 1. So, when the pain of contractions started & I was writhing on the bed crying silently (to the point the nurses were urging me to yell & let it out) I looked up at 1 nurse & said, "Sorry! I know I'm a big baby!" & She looked at me confused & put her hand on my forehead & said "Oh honey, why do you think you're a baby? You've got nothing to apologize for." I told her bc these are the beginning contractions, the easiest ones, & they have to get a lot harder & stronger. & I'm already crying. & She looked SHOCKED! She flipped the monitor around so I could see the peaks from my contractions & how high they were going & said that bc the Drs broke my water, it jump started my contractions, (along w\all the meds they were giving me to bring on contractions, ) & that I skipped all the easy contractions & went straight to the STRONG contractions & labor pains & that I was actually handling it a LOT better than a lot of the women they see! So, I should NEVER call myself a baby again. I said THIS is the labor pains?! Bc it's only a tiny bit stronger than my period cramps! & She was super sweet & outraged on my behalf & told me to keep looking for a diff Dr that would take me seriously! Bc cramps should NOT be anywhere even NEAR that level of pain. Turns out she was right! Only took me 14y AFTER to finally find a Dr who did something about it & by that point I was bleeding all day every day never stopping all year long & blacking out passing out from blood loss! & Had wrecked, nearly caught my house on fire, & passed out at work while taking guests back for their spa treatment!
I got way off topic! Sorry!

I spent so long pouring over every fossil and model reconstruction that my father had to sit outside the exhibition area to rest his legs. I was so engrossed, I didn't even know he had left the area. "Girls don't talk about politics"
Fun fact, most revolutions where "started" by women. Take in mind that the 'final straw' for most revolutions had to do with food shortages or increased charges on food. It's because hungry people are hard to lead. And who do you recall was tasked with feeding their families, going to markets, etc? That's right, the wives. There have been countless riots in the streets started by women because their children were starving. Riots that were credited as either the 'start' of a revolution or one of the major events that lead up to a revolution.
    A few examples:
    - Women's March on Versailles: Women literally gutted guards like fish and marched straight to their Absolutist Leader and forced them to move to Paris. Not to mention these same women lead the fight for religious freedom in France.
    - WW1: Women literally led food riots once again in Germany, Italy, and Russia. I mean, in Spain they literally attacked government buildings using the slogan: "In the name of humanity, all women take to the streets."
    - Russian Revolution: Women literally threw stones and snowballs through factory windows to force the government to give them bread. I mean, they were literally walking up to soldiers and taking their weapons demanding they join the cause.
So anyone who says women aren't interested in politics should shut their mouths and open a textbook. Some of the most famous wars and revolutions in all of history started because women started attacking the government to feed their families.

💯 like some of these guys say they “study women” but it’s never anything past sexuality and how one chooses to express it! Like they’ve never sat down and truly looked at Women’s History nor our role in politics.
Anyone who was gullible enough to fall for seggs economic theory, enough to put stock in it; is just painting themselves in red paint and sticking 🚩’s out of every orifice with flashing lights and bells and whistles.
Who has the time to deprogram a man from that cult like mentality when he believes your some to-bit con only good for baby making, cleaning, and cooking.
You can’t get a word in edgewise cause they don’t hold value to what women say to them. Just wait until it’s their turn to speak only to steam roll the conversation.
You can’t deprogram someone who’s non-responsive and in an echo chamber but if they willingly choose to go you can’t do much else but wait to put out the fire. Hopefully no one gets injured in the process

The most misogynistic thing a man has said to me this week was, "it's your duty, as a wife, to keep the house neat and tidy, and pleasing to look at for passers-by." And trust me, I was boiling inside thinking of ALL the things I did for this house like fixing the leaking roof when my husband is afraid of heights, patching up the dilapidated ceiling because my husband doesn't know how, building (yes, BUILDING) furniture when my husband knows nothing about carpentry (also because furniture cost is beyond our income), building a cattery to house the cats that my husband rescued, fixing the screwed up lighting fixtures and wiring due to bad maintenance because, again, you guessed it, my husband knows next to nothing about electrical wiring, chopping wood and maintaining yard work because my husband has never done either. For context, we're renting a small home with a tiny yard where I store most of my work-in-progress projects. Yes, it's a mild eyesore at the moment but still very organized, neat, and trash-free.
Edit 1: Since many are confused, no, the comment wasn't made by my husband. It came from a stranger.
Edit 2: I didn't intend to vent about what my husband cannot do. I'm so sorry for all the confusion! The comment came from a stranger who stopped by our house on Monday to complain about how our yard is "unkempt". I was trying to make a point that even though I'm my husband's wife, I still do all those things when they don't seem like "wife duties" because I actually enjoy doing them.
Last edit: I just want to clarify that I wasn't trying to humiliate my husband. I was just saying that just because I'm a woman doesn't mean my wifely duties are limited to only "keeping the house clean" as per the stranger's comment. My husband and I are a team. What he can't do, I'll do it in his stead, and what I can't do, he'll do it in my stead. My husband means the world to me and I had no intention of bringing him down in my original comment. English is not my first language so expressing my thoughts is sometimes a challenge. I'm using Grammarly to proofread my English. Thanks for reading, and have a good day, wherever you are.

"Take a 5 year old girl to the museum and she will be begging to go home to watch frozen."
My little sister, at 4 years old, went up to a guy working on a display he was setting up for a presentation. She asked if she could look and maybe pet them. I had no clue what the guy had but this isn't unusual for my sister to do with pets of any kind.
The guy proceeded to take out a long dark blue basically black snake with metallic looking scales. (Bigger than any snake I've ever seen in a pet store)
He told her she could pet the part of the snake between his hands, she was super happy and pet the snake for a good minute before the guy had to continue with his work.
She always loved that museum and all the dino bones, rocks, and the planetarium projection displays.
To this day she still collects polished rocks, knows the names of dinos, loves space and stars, and goes to every pet store she can to ask if she can pet the snakes.... she is 24 this year.

Women should be at home looking after the house, knitting and sewing like they are best at.

Edit: a lot of comments are pointing out iterations of the Mario world where Princess Peach is a badass hero and worth "being." So let me be clear: I'm referring to the classic versions of Mario where she has no agency and is the one in need of saving. If you're getting distracted by counterexamples of my metaphor, then you are demonstrating that we are actually in agreement when it comes to my sentiment and main point: women can be both strong and pretty, that the dichotomy between beauty and anything else of value (strength, intelligence, etc.) is a false one, evidenced in later iterations of PP that updates her character with advanced cultural attitudes towards women and their agency.

YESSSS! I was just saying that too! I had Adenomyosis. Which is similar to Endo where tissue grows in the wrong spot & then rips & tears when it tries to shed bc it's not supposed to be there. The only diff is unlike Endo mine didn't grow outside the uterus. It burrows holes THRU the muscled wall of my uterus. So, as 1 Dr said, my uterus was quite literally ripping me apart from the inside out. & It's also why even being pregnant didn't stop the pain bc there's so much damage inside the walls, that as my uterus grew to accommodate growing baby, it pulled on ALL that damage inside. Even caused massive hemorrhaging that caused me to miscarry. At the end b4 I got my uterus removed (still have ovaries & cysts but still it's a MILLION times better!) I was bleeding nonstop everyday of my life! No period, no breaks, just 24\7 bleeding. I was fainting from so much blood loss that I was becoming a liability in my job, on the road, even home w\my kids bc I fainted carrying laundry down to the basement while I was cooking & fell down ALL the steps! When I came too my baby was crawling down the stairs to me bawling & barely holding on from tumbling down the stairs, he saw me from the top bc I hadn't been able to close the gate b4 I fainted. The older boys were playing games & never realized but my 7mth old did! & Also, my food was burning & nearly caught the house on fire! I would sob in the drs office BEGGING for them to rip out my uterus but no I was too young they said! They kept putting me on Lupron for 7ys. You're only supposed to take it for 6wks once, after 6mo you can do another round but NO MORE! Bc it causes osteoporosis & a whole host of other bad side effects. But it put me in chemical menopause which stopped the bleeding at least. Nothing for the pain but at least I wasn't bleeding out! But 7yrs on that, now I'm finally uterus free but my teeth are all dust & falling out of my mouth & now I have to get dentures but NOBODY will do them bc they don't accept my insurance. I have my Dad's care credit card but they still won't accept me as a patient! So, another battle. But at least I'm not bleeding to death. Adeno & Endo are ABSOLUTELY NO JOKE & even w\all the knowledge about them out there, it's so hard to find a Dr who will look or acknowledge it!

The irony in the children example, is that I have 3 siblings, 2 of which are twins and are a boy and a girl. • @melioralefey4385

The whole 'girls don't ask questions' thing, especially in classes/education settings, is a thing, BUT that is because most girls (particularly in the past) were taught to not ask questions or that the questions they asked were stupid. So girls learned to not ask questions for fear of looking dumb. Boys were never taught that and so will ask questions more and talk more. Even when I taught at university, most male students had no problem asking questions or talking in general. While, female students generally asked fewer questions and talked less because they were afraid to look dumb and usually started questions with "this may be a dumb question..." or "I'm sorry to bother you...." PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS! TRUST ME, STUDENTS, YOU ARE NOT BOTHERING ME! I AM YOUR TEACHER.
And don't get me started on male students who somehow thought that because I am a woman, I somehow cannot teach them despite multiple degrees in the subject.

Women work a lot man especially single moms (or just moms in general). Sometimes she’ll work that entire week and on most weeks she works the weekends. She’s pretty badass to be able to handle all of that

Before that I was was platinum blond and boy was that a nightmare. Now, I've got my natural medium ash blond color back and the douchebags are trying to hit on me again. "Women don't have sex drives."
False. We simply have not been conditioned since adolescence to believe that we have little to no control over our urges and should be excused for our bad behavior. We have instead been shamed for literally hundreds of years for expressing our sex interest. If we follow our sex drives we are *checks for accuracy* like shoes with multiple owners and our value depreciates. At least according to the type of men who wonder why there isn't a line of women desperate to be with a r/niceguy like him.
Ladies, we need to do better. Every man who has dumbass opinions like these was literally created by a woman. Mothers, please don't let your sons grow up to be like this. Sure all the "talks" are uncomfortable, but obviously the men in their lives are screwing the pooch and giving horrid information. Sure you may hate every second of it, but we need this little subspecies to die out.

    • @xen0bia
      @xen0bia 2 года назад

The average period blood loss is 30-40 ml, though some can get to 60ml and higher for heavy bleeders. It often feels like a lot more, but that's because other fluids come out mixed with the blood. But yeah, the guy is an idiot. I use to have periods lasting 2 full weeks, and going through entire bags of night pads because the blood loss has hemorrhagic, so yeah not quite as simple as this guys puts it. Also, for far too great a number of women in third world countries, access to women hygene products is simply *non-existent* and that can lead to serious health issues in these women. In fact, wolves have a pretty complex social structure. Yes, the leader is often the biggest female, next to her are the other adult wolves, followed by elders who are not sick and the last ones are the cubs and sick ones. When they travel they use the same structure as a way to protect the weakest ones. Leader at the very front, the rest of the adults at front and some in the back, young, elder and sick at the middle. So in case they are attacked they can protect the ones who can't do it by themselves. Pretty awesome to be honest!
