Excellent video. I needed the reminder to service my XTs that I've been putting off for awhile. Enjoying the channel, keep up the great work!
Hey man, no idea how I came about your channel but I really appreciate the clear and direct approach to the videos - great info and no BS. Thank you. Subscribed!
Thanks for watching and your kind words
Excellent video, very detailed. Thanks for sharing.
Moises - thanks for the kind words and taking the time to comment :)
Thanks for making this so easy to understand!
you are very welcome :)
Gracias amigo! Gran explicación
Thank you, Jacob!
After ALL these years of cycling (34) and triking (3), I thought I was the ONLY guy ever to rebuild, re-grease my pedals!!! GREAT explanation, thank you!
thanks for watching and comment, Fred - cheers to silky smooth pedals :)
Great article
Keto-Rider, thanks for watching! Ride on :)
Tip: If you do not have the bearing removal tool, use the flat part of a 10.5 mm drill bit
Great tip, thanks for sharing :)
As always it was entertaining and informative. I think you should also be known as the "Bike Professor" or I saw a T shirt that said on front with a bike pic "Cycologist"
I have a t-shirt that says "Cyclepath" - does that count?
Or....you could do more one legged drills in your spin class!😃 also, you could use the Wabi 6mm to 8mm adaptor.
Glen, now your talkin!
Great video. CB ftw for us endurance riders
Thanks for watching and commenting, petayV8 - ride on!
@@DirtyTeethMTB thanks for reply!! Just found your channel and loving it, I love your out for the adventure. I just moved to boise 8 months ago, epic place to live for us riders!! See you on the trail! 💪👍😎
@@petayV8 congrats on the move to Boise! lots of good dirt :) Ride on!
Do me a video of all your kit packed in your bags, it seems amazing it all fits.
David, thanks for watching - I’ve got more vids comin on sleep kit / hydration / first aid - then a fully loaded weigh in and unpacking of everything - stay tuned! 👍
Dirty Teeth MTB you are very passionate about your videos so good on you. I am currently building a bike that will have to do global touring and possibly big races using a pinion gearbox solution. The sundry and support kit I am sort of 1/3 happy. So it’s a topic on my mind. I see a lot of folks talk about 3 tonnes of kit all packed in 2mm package and it a simple case of just add water and out popped a garage full of kit ....lol.
Hi I have another problem ... externally the 4 wings of the pedal have an oscillation as if the central spring could no longer hold them still do you know how to help me? Thanks
sorry, I con't help - I'd contact Crank Bros directly - ride on :)
How do you rate the eggbeaters compared to a Shimano spd pedal? Using them for XC and gravel.
Haha, love your moniker 🙌 I get that question a lot - SPD vs CB - very subjective, and I’ve had many clients, friends argue for both sides. Personally, I like eggbeaters. Light, 4 sides of engagement / easy in and out , shed mud great 👍 ride on!
@@DirtyTeethMTB I was thinking about this today as we were riding gravel and there was quite a bit of snow and mud and I couldn’t get into my pedals a few times haha. Thanks for the insight!
@@thankgravelitsfriday Buy the shimano XLR. Lighter than the best Eggbeaters, serviceable too if you want, wayyyyy cheaper, and you'll never have to buy pedals ever again (and hardly to service them).
Eggbeaters is a religion - nothing rational. It breaks, you need shims, it's wobbly, you have to service them more than once a year (!) - it's basically the American pedal: it's awfully expensive for mediocre quality, you've got to pay 100 bucks every year in servicing if you want them to work, and they'll be dead in two or three years anyway.
(and every pedal shed mud great, they're made for that)
Yo pienso que unta el eje con azeite 2ow50 es mucho mejor para el mantenimiento del pedal.
Saludos ✌️ 😉

@@DirtyTeethMTB
yeah! ✌️😎 🇧🇷
Why the heck would you ever use Eggbeater 11s for bikepacking??
Thanks for watching and commenting, Willigray!... depends on if it's a race or not, route length/terrain, which bike I'm using, trying to go ultralight, etc - but I'll quote myself from 1:53 in the video, "... for the record, I usually prefer Candy 1's or 7's without the titanium spindle for bikepacking... I feel the standard spindle is stronger and worth a little weight penalty while bikepacking"... hope that answers your question - Merry Christmas and happy trails :)
Real talk: is that a dispenser on your park grease tube?! What is that thing?
yep, Olin, it's a Pedros grease gun :)
All sockets are not the same, and some will not have enough room to catch the bearing.
I recommend using one that will 👍
or buy shimano and you don't ever have to touch them XD XD XD
or there's that :) Ride on, dsego84!
Not true, I’ve serviced my shimano SPD pedals many times
