Aamir Khan's son, Junaid Khan's debut film Maharaj lands in a controversy. Amidst that, #BoycottNetflix is trending on X. Now, Gujarat High Court has put a stay on the OTT release of the film. The story of this film is based on a landmark libel case of 1862 which was fought between Karsandas Mulji and Jadunath Brijratan Maharaj. After hesitantly watching this movie, I felt that:
- Some portions of the movie are exaggerated, but overall the movie's content is correct whether we like it or not.
- The movie is not against Hindu religion or Vaishnav sect. It has only exposed a pakhandi priest.
- The movie has wonderfully portrayed the greatness of Karsandas, Lalraj Maharaj, Viraj, and Doctor. Hindus and Vaishnavs should feel proud of these great people.
- Like all other religions, Hinduism had and has a few bad practices and people. Great thing about Hinduism is that Hinduism allows its followers to fight against such bad elements.

हिंदू धर्म के नाम पर देवदासी प्रथा थी। जिसमें महिलाओं को मंदिरों मे दान कर दिया जाता था। वहा महिलाओं का शोषण होता था।2018 मे केंद्र सरकार ने देवदासी प्रथा पर रोक लगा दी।
महाराज मूवी पर रोक लगाना गलत है। दुसरे धर्म के पाखंडी मौलाना के द्वारा की जा रही शोषणकारी निति भी गलत है। और हिंदू धर्म में रही यह प्रथा भी।

कल ही 'महराज' मूवी देखी। बहुत अच्छी मूवी है। एक्टर भी जबरदस्त है। मुस्लिम बीमार है तो साथ में ये बीमारी हिन्दुओं में भी लगनी शुरू हो गयी है कि मेरे मजहब पर क्यों बोला।
जहाँ गंदगी होगी बोला जायेगा। इस्लाम पर कोई नहीं बोल रहा तो उसका बेडा गर्क होने की तरफ है।
समाज सुधारकों और इतिहास में हुए अच्छे बदलाव के बारे में भी मूवी मत बनाओ, धर्म पर मत बनाओ, पॉलिटिक्स पर मत बनाओ, स्त्रियों पर मत बनाओ, समुदाय पर मत बनाओ। तो फिर किस पर बनायें ??? आदमी कहीं ना कहीं किसी ना किसी चीज़ में भावना तो रखता ही है। ऐसे तो सबमें भावनाएं आहात होती रहेंगी। महाराज सच्ची घटना थी जिसमें महाराज लोगों की भावनाओं का फायदा उठाता है और आज भी कितने ही महराज उठा रहे हैं पर वहां सच्चाई को होने से नहीं रोकेगा, फिल्मों को रोकेंगे। जब ये काण्ड हो रहा था 1862 में तब फ़िल्में नहीं आपकी ये कट्टर और अंधी भावनाये ही जिम्मेवदार थी इस काण्ड के लिए। अरे भाई धर्म में दिक्कत है तो धर्म पर भी फ़िल्में बननी चाहिए।
हाँ, बेशक डरता होगा आमिर मुस्लिमों की कुरीतियों पर बनाने से , लेकिन वह जानता है हिन्दु साफ़ होने की क्षमता रखता है उस पर मूवी बनायीं जा सकती है तो बनाने दो, इसी क्षमता के कारण सनातन आज तक जीवित है कि वह गलती को सुनना और सफाई करना जानता है। वरना इस्लाम की तरह सड़कर एक दिन बदबू फैलाएगा। और फिर एक्स हिन्दू देखने को मिलेंगे।

The entire film talks about only one side of the coin and deliberatley tries to potray Karsandas Mulji as a hero and Yadunathji as a villain..The actors and makers of the film have clearly not done any research about the topic. There are certain factual errors that i would like to point out:
1. Character Assassination of Jadunathji Maharaj:
- The movie graphically depicts explicit scenes involving a Pushtimarg guru engaging
in illicit sexual activities, which misrepresents his character, and not based on facts,
which misrepresents the teachings and principles of Pushtimarg. This portrayal is
defamatory and has led to widespread misinformation about the sect.
2. Misrepresentation of Religious Practices:
- The film erroneously depicts "charan seva" as an illicit sexual act, grossly distorting
its true meaning and significance within the Pushtimarg sect. This defamation tarnishes
the image of a sacred practice and the community that reveres it.
3. Historical Inaccuracies:
- The movie inaccurately claims that such practices have been part of the Pushtimarg
tradition for over 100 years, which is factually incorrect and misleading. It also wrongly
portrays historical figures and events, especially the role and statements of Karsandas
Mulji during the Maharaj Libel case proceedings.
4. Defamation and Stereotyping:
- By associating immoral acts with the slogan "Vallabhadhish Ki Jay" and the figure of
Vallabhacharya, the film misleads the audience into believing that these actions are
endorsed by the Pushtimarg sect. This is a serious misrepresentation and defamation of

The book "Maharaj" written by Saurabh Shah also vilifies the Pushtimarg, its core

the Maharaj Libel case of 1862. This book, like the movie, spreads misinformation and
defames the Pushtimarg sect, causing further harm to its reputation and misleading the

6. Biased Judgement in Maharaj Libel Case 1862:
The judgement of the Maharaj Libel case of 1862 was also biased and prejudiced
against Hindu Sanatana Dharma. The judgement made derogatory comments on Lord
Krishna, describing Him as immoral and licentious, and indulging in sexual acts with
16,000 gopis. These comments were not only offensive but also reflected a colonial
mindset aimed at undermining Hindu religious beliefs and practices.
7. Colonial Context and Misleading Narratives:
- The film fails to provide the broader context of British colonial strategies aimed at
