This is way more complicated than I thought but I’m a complete beginner lol. I’ll figure it out because I’ve been wanting to make my own briefs for forever now.
This sewing machine looks absolutely amazing. I hope one day I can afford something like this! Looks relatively easy to make these but it got a bit confusing when you made the burrito!
These are great!! However, is there a way to make the inside top seam neater than just leave it as is? It looks messy and unfinished (which it is) as it is now... Can we sew the elastic on the outside, stitch it, then fold it open and then stitch the folded over part down?
You can finish it however you like. The most professional look would be a cover stitch. You could serge the edge of the fabric before you attach the elastic as well. All the cut edges of fabric should be on the inside though. You are making me think you sewed on the waistband backwards. 🤔. The elastic should be on the outside. I hope you can figure out a way that feels good for you. Let me know if you have any more questions.
@@SewAnastasia Thanks for the quick reply. No, I haven't made them yet... I do intend to. I was asking about attaching the elastic, right side to right side along the top of the waist opening, then flipping it up so the elastic is right side out, with the top edge of the fabric folded down, and then top stitch it down so the end is encased?
How would I go about making the waistband on existing boxer briefs tighter without making the body fabric pull? Would I have to deconstruct the whole piece?
Hello and Good Day I recently purchased the pdf for these boxer and I only received the test print for it. May I get some assistance on getting and downloading the entire PDF
It sent the full pdf . Maybe you are opening it incorrectly? Are you opening it in Acrobat? Make sure you select poster printing for your home printer. I think you just don’t have it scaled right. Make sure in your printing settings it does not say fit to page. Email if you need more help.
How do you call that first stitch you are doing on the first piece? I don't think my sewing machine has that stitch. Thank you. I enjoyed the video and I am very excited to give it a try. Another question if you don't mind do you have a pattern for a 9" inseam? Thanks again.
Hi, I used a serger to sew them but you could use a zig zag stitch or an overcast stitch if you don’t have a serger. Also I don’t have a pattern for a 9 inch inseam but you could just extend the leg length on the pattern that I have.
i would like to know also. i would imagine just draw the briefs pattern on the sides that equals your waist measurement or whatever measurement youre using. im really not sure but maybe she will tell us i hope
I love boxer briefs and that pattern too, rawr! I knew you had something for us. I have some bamboo rayon jersey knit, sooo silky, perfect for this. 27 inch waist must be for you, if not that guy needs a sandwich lol. Great video, you make it look easy.
Measure yours -- they're probably a good deal smaller than your waist because they're meant to stretch to fit. I messed it up and actually went 4" shorter and it worked fine.
What I'd you're a man (such as me) and want to make a pair of these more friendly for swimming? Is there a way to ditch the burrito crotch and make them look more like Speedos? I believe shorts are meant to be short... Not stupid long...
Hi, Yes you could tape the burrito pattern piece to the front portion and then use a ruler to make it straight and then you could have a seam up the front that would be flat or you could do cut on fold and have the seam up the back. I will add a mens swim trunk to my list to videos to make! Thank you for watching.
Ok, never thought of sewing my own boxer briefs, but now it’s a possibility. Thank you!
Woohoo 🥳

You can do it!!!
your hair is looking CUTE! it always does but especially this time
Thank you! I just got a fresh hair cut!!! I haven’t had one in forever with quarantine.
Thankyou. Briefs made successfully

It is a great machine! The burrito can be a little confusing but once you try it a few times its super easy! THANK YOU FOR WATCHING :)
Thank you for this video. I downloaded the pattern and I am very proud of my work!
Ps. I chose the L size for an italian size 6.
Awesome 👏 send pics of your finished work & I’ll post it in stories!

Hi. Thanks for you tutorials. Is a coverstitch machine the same as a serger,?
It is not. It’s a different stitch. Some home serger machines can convert over to a cover stitch though.
Wow best pattern I have found for boxer briefs. One question, is there a way to make the inseam seam flat for more comfort? Thanks!
Hi! Thank you and you could stitch it down with a zig zag stitch or a cover stitch. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching.
How would I go about making the waistband on existing boxer briefs tighter without making the body fabric pull? Would I have to deconstruct the whole piece?
Take off the waistband. Take some in then put it back on.
Would it be possible to sew the seam with a serger
Totally you can serge these together
The how to serge without serger is not in the description
Hello!!! Great tutorial. Is that a special foot/guide you have on your coverstitch machine?
Do you alter men’s boxer briefs 🩲???
You can!

I am having the same problem. Purchased the pattern and only received the test pattern. I did send an email…thanks!
Very informative! I'm actually in the process of designing sexy men's underwear.
Super fun! Happy sewing 🧵
Thank you for the video, pls how do I download the pattern?
Hi, It is at sewanastasia.com under digi downloads. Thank you for watching.
No fly front tutorial or pattern for boxer briefs?
The pattern is at sewanastasia.com Thank you for watching Sew Anastasia & Happy Sewing!

@@SewAnastasia Thanks you, I am going to check your other video you mentioned of using the zigzag stich :)
@@VickyLatorreArt sounds good! Yes you can also use the zig zag stitch or overcast stitch on an angle.
How would you make a covered waist band boxer brief
Hi! You would want to make a casing for the elastic. Thank you for watching.
What sewing machine are you using? Please tell me the names of the machines.
I was the Viking amber air & designer epic by Viking.
How am I supposed to print this? its coming out super tiny all on one page. Help! I really want to make these!
It’s a full pdf - you need to open Adobe & print it as a poster. I have a video on how to do it where you ordered it or find it on my RUclips channel
does this pattern have seam allowance
Yes 3/8
@@SewAnastasia thanks! I just saw that the pattern says, thx again!
Is there a way to eliminate the pouch? I love lady boxer briefs so the extra "room" isn't needed.
i would like to know also. i would imagine just draw the briefs pattern on the sides that equals your waist measurement or whatever measurement youre using. im really not sure but maybe she will tell us i hope
Totally! You can just straighten out the front curve. Or just extend the center front seam a bit & do not attach any pouch. Just sew up center front.
@@SewAnastasia thank you!
pleas what is that fabric actually
Stretch knit poly blend leopard print
Where'd you get those elastics??
What's the best fabric to use that wicks the moisture?
Wool wicks away moisture but you could itch depending on your skin sensitivity. Cotton absorbs 2.5x its weight but is more breathable.
There are a ton of sport performance fabrics on the market. Check them out. Thank you for watching Sew Anastasia & Happy Sewing!
you could have used a diff pattern cause at 6:00 you cant see anything
Yeah I didn’t know it was very white till after we shot it. Maybe turn down the brightness on your screen to help. Thanks for watching
Can’t find the pattern
I'm having the same problem and no one answers my email

@@georgegruschow wow, you're right. Un-stretched, mine are 28 and I'm a 40.
:( ... too expensive.
