- FIDF Chief Executive Officer Steve Weil welcomes Cpt. (Res.) Odelia of the Search and Rescue Brigade to discuss her unique background as the granddaughter of German Christians who came to Israel after World War 2 to open a nursing home for Holocaust survivors. She describes her experiences in the IDF on and after October 7th, where she searched for human remains in Kibbutz Be'eri. Cpt. Odelia also elaborates on her mission in Gaza during the war and her previous experiences in the Search and Rescue Brigade. Finally, the two talk about Cpt. Odelia's brother, Urija, who was mortally wounded while fighting in Gaza.

I pray daily many times a day for God, Lord Jesus Christ to be with Israel and her people's right to exist as a State free from persecution, war, hate and the list goes on. I feel your heart's agony when you speak about your incredible brother but remember that nothing is lost in the kingdom of God. While Urija will not return to your family in this life, you will go to where he is, in the presence of God. May you and your precious family continue to be held in the embrace of the Father who understands your grief. Dear Odelia, In far away Tasmania, Australia, which is pretty much as far from Israel as it is possible to get, there are many Christians who believe that what happened on Oct 7th is real. We know Israel is surrounded by enemies bent on its destruction. We stand with you and pray for Israel constantly. I am old but have held the Jewish people in my heart since I learned about the Holocaust as a little girl. God is with us, Christian and Jew, and His Kingdom of peace will prevail in the end. Odelia is true Israeli hero: she hates guns but holds one anyway in case she comes under attack and has to defend herself, her loved ones and her home.
She said it with a lot of compassion, that Israel doesnt have the luxioury to be pazifists....but are a peaceful people who defend with their weapon against evil
