yes they're labeled as Unit G and Unit B, it's not a sexist thing but more of a division, the Unit plans to make one girl group and one boy group at the same time. For the whole time it's a rule for guys and girls to not interact and they're all gonna perform equally with the same system but the guys compete with guys and girls to girls, it's like a show that's running two competitions at the same time.
The Unit is a show that gives debuted idols another chance to show their worth, also disbanded groups or idols that stopped initially or just want more recognition for their group. The girl with the bob-cut is NC.A and she is kinda popular in Korea already but I think she wanted to be part of an idol group and learn more.
I think Cherry on Top had so much potential to be an amazing song I'm kinda sad that it wasn't put together well. I was so excited because I thought I was going to really like it and I do like it just not as much as I thought I would.
I agree, the song is so likable during the first verse but the horns are infuriating especially since its obvious that the song is better without it, like what pd said. The bridge was fine (at least for me)
Cherry on Top had a lot of potential but they tried too hard to make a sultry song cute in tone. It's obvious they intended to pull off sexy aegyo and it just didn't work. If they had just stuck with one concept for the song and better arranged it that could have been a winner. The girls tried with what they were given though so I can't blame it on them.
Yuna Is smitten by Yoongi That's Euijin who is actually the Main Dancer of Sonamoo. She has a really good voice though. Great all-rounder and ended up in 1st place at end of show.

i got sad while watching this last mission, the song given to the girls are soo week and boring compared to the boys songs, even Cherry On Top sounded so simple. They look similar too, always going to the cute in some moment of the song. To me, the best one's was Sweet not only the song, but the choreography too, and Cosmos, cause the song don't stay in the middle between cute and not, It's just cute all the time
I don't understand why there is such a difference between production of the mvs for unit B and G. Sets for boy groups looked all the same tbh, even the dance previews for the other 3 groups that didn't win. For girls they put so much more effort.
i'm so late omg.. I totally agree! and the weird thing is, once they debuted, it was kinda the opposite because unb got decent quality videos and uni.t literally got performance videos (don't get me started on all the mistake in I Mean..)

If you liked the unit songs you should check out the mixnine songs too! Hush, Until tonight, OMG and Come Over from the girls Hand in Hand, Stand by me and What!? from the boys IMO the original music and general music production is heaps better from mixnine
I have to agree, I feel like The Unit's music production was pretty bland? Especially the finale songs, which probably stuck out to me the least of all of the them. Whereas Mixnine actually made some pretty good songs I would listen to by themselves. Even the remixed versions of pre-existing songs were pretty good
Across the board the Mixnine music was pretty good. I wish I had that bad girl good girl remix and the bang bang bang one as well. Also male paradise lost was pretty sick

When I heard the Producer say that Nc.a has good pipes, I'm like yasssssssssssss. Sh really does. She was recognised as one of the stronger vocalists on the show!! Listening to Always, I kinda wish Nc.A had more singing parts, esp for the high notes but she personally asked Jihoon to do them so... lol. Can't help it. Jihoon's voice is sweet too but her tone is very thin and airy so it comes down to a personal preference, I think. And lol, I thought the PD would recognise Euijin from Sonamoo! But he only recognised Serri from Dalshabet xP
But Always isn't a cute concept. I really really hate it when people label it as cutesy when it never is. It degrades the song with such a great lyrics & story telling. Poco poco and Cosmos are the cute concept. Cherry On Top and Sweet are the sexy concepts w/ sexual & suggestive lyrics. Always is about pure, innocent, teenage love. It have a really emotional and meaningful lyrics. In fact it's the only song among all Unit-G songs with meaningful lyrics. It's was NEVER meant to be cutesy at all. If you read the lyrics it was actually pretty emotional and it's about pledging to always love the person. It's a big slap and degrading towards the composer & lyricist who created the song to just slump it as cutesy like Poco Poco.

They are DEFINITELY trying to be cute. Therefore its a cutesy concept. But that kinda behaviour isnt suited to everyone's taste and you can't make them like it no matter how great you think the song is. The reason why All Day and Always MV are better bc they are the winning group and were given the MV as a reward. Question and Cherry On Top are 2nd and they were not supposed to get the MV at all but they got one anyway and they called it 'special video'. In my opinion the best song of the girls is Sweet(3rd )and for the boys is No Way(5th). You should check them out.

I'm not a huge fan of the cutesy girl group thing. girls groups took a long time to win me over in general but cutesy is still hard for me. aesthetically, their makeup in always did not fit all the girls at all. some kind of looked like they just woke up. I get consistency, but they should have altered it slightly to fit each girl better. in cherry on top, I think the dance was too sexy for the vibe of the song. I like that aesthetic better than cutesy but it didn't fit in this case. personally I didn't really like either song here and liked both boy group songs better
And I do want to remind everyone that this wasn’t MV vs MV. The first and second places were determined through live stages by fans and MV was released/recorded according to first and second placers. I guess for the guys, I know Jun had schedule outside of the Unit and seemed to have traveled to and from Japan a lot. So recording in one room could have been because of his schedule. Or it was just low budget for the guys MVs. Probably just wanted that simple approach so they played with lights and filters to make up for it. Who knows.
i think what made always so good was the three main vocalists and that's it. the rest of the group was really weak but props to them for accomplishing such a performance.
I agree. Always is a lot better but im heavily biased to cherry on top because my girl Haein from Laboum is in it. Her voice is one of my favourite things ever.
The boys are Unit B. I was disappointed and surprised when Summi and Euna Kim didn’t make it into the final nine and there is one member that I wish hadn’t made it in because I don’t like her voice because her company wanted her to sound babyish. Since she is in, I hope she learns to mature her voice to the twenty something she is.
The girl with baby voice is Hyunjoo formerly of APRIL. If you watch the final 9's performance of You&I on Music Bank her voice sounds more mature and better.

about the girl that sounds like she's not singing from her stomach, its mostly because she's keeping the vowel shape of her mouth mostly. She's one of the better singers in this group, too, her tone has a slight nasal that's so slight that might lead you to think she's not drawing her sound deep enough
The vocal girl from always actually had a hard time singing that part and she was doubting if she could do it while they were training. I think she is still practicing and improving her singing skills that's also why she isn't that good yet hehe.
Wait...All Day’s group name was “Handsome Boys”. Which I’m positive was in the title. I thought the “The Unit” was meant to say that they’re from the show and it wasn’t necessarily their group name..? As for Unit Gs, I don’t recall either girl group coming up with their own name..? But, agree with what you said, cherry on top had potential, but there were parts which should have been changed, always although not my style is a better song and the video is way better, but I still like the guy's songs more. And yeah the girl groups especially always seem to have much higher quality videos, for the boys, it was like lets just put some neon lights in the back. guess it was a trade-off. And did anyone notice that they used the same location the exid used for LIE and BTS for DNA concept photo, and the basketball courts are from clc's we like it? You should check the live performances for the other group songs since the winner's were determined from the. Serri was the dalshabet member in always and Wohee was in Sweet/Sweetie which the best song in my opinion (but did not win).
I like Cherry on Top more than Always. After they go, "always always..." it sounds off to me. Yena's voice just hits me so hard. However, Always has the better MV indeed.
Can you react the Unit G - Cosmos too? I know you like Momoland - Bboomm Bboomm, it's simillar. But because they're third, they didn't have a MV. You can check live performance.

Wait...All Day’s group name was “Handsome Boys”. Which I’m positive was in the title. I thought the “The Unit” was meant to say that they’re from the show and it wasn’t necessarily their group name..? As for Unit Gs, I don’t recall either girl group coming up with their own name..? But that may be just me and I’ll have to rewatch the episode....

I think 달콤해 was the best UNIT G song, followed by You&I. I also liked COSMOS.
I think I prefer Poco A Poco for Unit G and You're Mine for Unit B. They sound more like the typical kpop song (?)

But, agree with what you said, cherry on top had potential, but there were parts which should have been changed, always although not my style is a better song and the video is way better, but I still like the guy's songs more. And yeah the girl groups especially always seem to have much higher quality videos, for the boys, it was like lets just put some neon lights in the back. guess it was a trade-off.
And did anyone notice that they used the same location the exid used for LIE and BTS for DNA concept photo, and the basketball courts are from clc's we like it?
Also, they are labelled unit B and unit G respectively, it just wasn't in the video title.

You should check the live performances for the other group songs since the winner's were determined from the. Serri was the dalshabet member in always and Wohee was in Sweet/Sweetie which the best song in my opinion (but did not win).
I like Cherry on Top more than Always. After they go, "always always..." it sounds off to me. Yena's voice just hits me so hard. However, Always has the better MV indeed.
