  • Working with Titan Tow's 50ton rotator on a heavy rollover! Besides my insane call volume, I also get requests to help out other towers frequently and this job was called in by Omar at Titan Tow. His customer rolled a loaded container in a private yard in Long Beach, where the landing gear was completely destroyed. The rigging was straight forward, except I had to pull from an awkward angle due to the rear of the container behind flush against the loading dock and the roof up above.
Using the strength of our twin rotators, we got the container upright, and ever performed a counter lean off camera. Unfortunately, the load was too condensed and packed to safely correct itself, so we set the container on a flatbed trailer.
►All footage was shot with my Sony FX3 using a Sony f/1.8 20mm lens. I also edit my own footage using Adobe Premiere Pro.

SUPER cool cooperative effort here!! I was hoping you would have a video for this one. REALLY cool with one rotator on each side working in opposite directions!! VERY cool of you to show a look at Omar's beautiful rotator!! It's always courtesy and respect and never hogging the limelight or showing off or any of that crap. I have great respect for you and all of your crew for that!!

A good understanding of how mass and its centre of gravity is imposed on a trailer.
If we had a landing leg failure causing a rollover here in the UK, there would be a huge enquiry.
Trailers by law must be safety inspected between every 8 to 12 weeks depending on there use/Milage.

I can only imagine how big your storage yard must be with this many rollovers!! Also its crazy that in our entire time in business 17+ years we have only ever been called for 1 container rollover... you probably get 5 a week! LOL

It’s because they’re in Los Angeles, which is where like half of all container freight in the US passes through. It makes sense they see a lot of containers

Seeing that the chassis is likely from a pool, does the pool company pay the cost for a failed dolly leg? Or is it the customers cost + the damages to the chassis?

Obviously your next rig has to be one of those five axle 75 ton rigs where the turret can slide fore and aft on the chassis!

Why not bring in a empty chassis and back under it then

    • @kaspernbs

Needed to offset the container from the edge of the trailer.
If they put them back on the twist locks the weight would pull it over again.
