What a great artist and musician Mr. Rossdale is. Sixteen Stone was one of my first music purchases, and still listen to it to this day. Golden State is an underrated album. "Adrenaline" a solo song he did from the XxX Soundtrack was a sleeper song of his that was also underrated. Bush's first 5 albums were in regular rotation growing up.
16 Stone is one of those rare albums where its solid from beginning to end. The only weak track is "X Girlfriend" but I consider that more of a tacked on bonus track.
i has a whole summer to 16 stone. a lot of fond, stoned memories along with the smell of ck one and patchouli. thanks Gavin, my kids in their 20s love your stuff, its still a beautiful rain!!
Good picks from Gavin. I've been a Bush fan since 1994-95 and I remember some magazine interviews in which he and Nigel (former Bush lead guitarist) talked about bands that at that time Rock artists didn't talk about like Wire, fIREHOSE, Minutemen, Bad Brains, Gang Of Four, Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa, Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, The Residents, Massive Attack, Tricky, Portishead, Kraftwerk, Can, Poco, CSN&Y, Lee Perry & The Upsetters, Toots & The Maytals, Earth Wind & Fire, like what they liked to listen to whenever they could, in addition to influences that they always mentioned as Pixies, Sonic Youth, The Clash, The Smiths, Nirvana, etc. Those types of interviews helped me a lot in the 90's to discover a lot of music that has accompanied me since then.
Is it the mix or lyrics? It certainly couldn’t be his voice. I love and know music. Dylan can NOT sing. And this interviewer must have just came from a ball game or maybe a concert. I have a sore throat just listening to him talk😬😬😬
@@mattmorganRnR Bob Dylan is an awesome vocalist and still is. But I know it's different and took a long time for me to get it. The thing that hooked me was his unique phrasing and the way that emphasizes the meaning of what he is singing.
Huh? He has good taste in music. I don’t know why but I wasn’t expecting him to pick Dylan or Bowie. Bad on me. Bush’s Sixteen Stone was a great record. It was just so over played by radio stations at the time.
God I hate it when the word grunge is used. Not one of those bands... AIC, Nirvana, PJ, Soundgarden... None of em ever used the word. It was a dumb media-created word. Kurt said it was "stupid bullshit." 😂
In reality, "grunge" was first coined by Mark Arm in the early 80s to describe his bands music....A band that actually didn't exist yet. He said the sound was "pure grunge"..........In the late 80s, a Subpop producer used the word "grunge" to describe a few of the bands they had signed, one of those bands being Nirvana.

I agree, the song he did with the Blue Man Group around the same time as XxX was pretty good too.
16 stone is one of my favourite albums of all time. Listened to it yesterday

Golden State is Really good album
Such a great musician and Dad.❤our kids played soccer together at Woodbridge Park
I liked Bush's first records all the way up to about 2000.
What record store clerk said “you like the Buzzcocks, wanna try ELO”?!?!
Lots of artist come up with bs stories like this
he didn't want him to stay with just punk....I bought a Bowie album in the 80s when I was 17 and the guy said try R.E.M.
Cool seeing PJ Harvey getting mentioned.

He seems surprisingly humble

Please turn down the music a touch while the monotone guest talks. It's too loud, and drowns out the commentary.
yes. turn it down just a bit and/or add auto captions
Bob Dylan - Desire. One of my favorite albums!

If you don’t get it, you don’t get it.

whats he Pj Harvey song that plays after #2 at 4:53?
It's not PJ Harvey.
Great picks Gavin
Some nice choices.
I'm not a Bush fan. However, Gavin Rossdale certainly seems like class act.
Some cool choices.
Just give me the list
No Nirvana? Pay the damn toll.
I remember when BUSH first came out.....they were nothing more than a polished over produced NIRVANA.😂
The host’s voice is unique… very gruff and baritone😮
My wife is absolutely in love with Gavin.
Still? Guy is 60, face is a mess.
Well, at least he had Bowie and Dylan
PJ is amazing.
PIL metalbox!
What, no No Doubt?
Thought Gavin might have picked up a Bad Seeds album.
Best song on Ziggy Stardust is moonage daydream
PJ Harvey is awesome.
My gaydar never worked with Gavin.
I think he dabbles a lil, if you know I mean.
@@hobojungle1he was (British pop singer) Marilyn’s (Peter Robinson) boyfriend in the 80s.
He's best known as the guy who cheated on Gwen Stefani
is this like a cheap knock off of whats in my bag
He has awful taste
Better than yours
He has excellent taste.

Every album was great. What the hell are you talking about?
F you talking about? F outta here 😂
Grunge band? lol
That’s not him
welp, now I know Gavin is just another sheeple bleating out clichés. thumbs down. plus, his music selection blows.
Why do we care about this dude. Who is he? Yeah, Stefani's guy. A total nothing.
What? Lol
Just like you.
You haven't listened to Bush.
Gavin was popular before Stefani was.
You haven't listened to Bush.

Get some sleep big guy. It's not a big deal.

Everyone and their mom knows those bands as grunge, because they are grunge. Don’t be that guy. V cringe.
