This is far better demonstration than watching videos of bass players doing solos (or wank noodling as we say here in the UK). Like seeing a lion in the wild vs at the zoo.

Yeah, I'm not trying to show off because that's not how people actually play. I'm just playing songs and having fun.
Also, as far as gear goes. Everything I have was purchased used. Like that 2019 USA stingray. I snagged that used from guitarcenter.com. It was listed in excellent condition and was a good price ($1500 I think? I forget). I had a sterling ray34PB I had financed a couple years ago that was paid off. So I sold it on reverb for like $700 and then I sold my record collection which paid for the rest and then some. I lucked out because the previous owner of that stingray must have just bought it and left it in the case forever. It was in mint condition and had all the case candy, including the tag. The previous owner must have had a big dog tho because the inside of the case smelled like it. Cleaned it up and aired it out and it's super solid. I Can see some pet dander under the control plate though, so I'll have to open it up at some point. Anyway, everything I have was purchased used off reverb or through guitarcenter. If you look often enough you can find some great deals.
